It's always been an untouchable song, no one should tamper with it, then Tommy came and changed that.
Covering this song is very difficult. It's important to try to find the right balance - not to just copy Freddie ( that's impossible), but also not to change the song too much trying to make it your own. Tommy found that balance in a most magnificent way imo. Absolutely spectacular cover
And the right balance is finding the right notes when singing all those harmonies.

I have been watching Tommy for a couple of years now. In the beginning, he was so very, very good. And, now, he has only improved. What an amazing talent! I begin to think that there is absolutly nothing he cannot do.

I've been a Sabaton fan for almost 20 years, since they played shows in small clubs in front of 40 people (no joke), have seen them some weeks ago playing in an arena here in Berlin. They really deserve the success. :D Still love them.

Lord, we were all in serious withdrawals whilst he was on vacation...but this was worth the wait! The amount of vocal layering for those harmonies...staggering to think of the time and work... and we appreciate it!!
Cosmic...Tommy releases a new cover every Friday! And idk how you feel about Christmas... but last year he gave us 24 straight days of power metal Christmas! Not to mention, his band Majestica has an entire Christmas concept album...

I happen to despise all things Christmas (there are personal reasons, I'm not just a grinch), and now I've got the Majestica Christmas Carol album in rotation in my car...my mom, (recovering from stroke, not as cognitively sharp as b4) got big eyes and was shocked... "are you listening to *Christmas music*?!" Yes! And I love it!!

Hi Cosmic, never really been a big queen fan, the only two songs I like are this one and who wants to live forever, and Tommy has covered both. The talent of this guy is beyond words, Male or female vocals he takes it on and, Always delivers. I never, ever thought I would be saying this, but I do think he is capable of covering GLS by Nightwish! Tarja, Floor and Tommy (Kristin Starkey also). Rock on, Tommy.

Can you please react to Windir? It's hard for me to suggest a specific song because all of there's are amazing. It's considered it's own genre of folk black metal. The composer of the band, the singer Valfar, died after 4 albums were released and they ended the band with him. He froze to death in Norway walking to his parents cabin. RIP Valfar you were one of the greats

Another fun reaction Cosmic. And while I love Tommy and he does have a great voice, I found this cover to be a bit karaoke. This is not meant as an insult, but simply as a way of describing his approach to the song. I like when an artist really does something to make the song their own, as Nightwish did with "High Hopes". If you want to hear an example of this, I recommend Angelina Jordan's rendition of "Bohemian Rhapsody" from AGT Champion's. It is a shortened version of the song due to performer time constraint's, but it is an original take. If you chose to react to this, I do recommend that you start with Angelina Jordan's cover of "I Put a Spell on You" (black and white version) first. Another great cover would be Haley Reinhart's cover of "Creep" with Post Modern Jukebox. Of course, we also have Joe Cocker's cover of "A Little Help From My Friends" at Woodstock, and Janis Joplin's cover of "Me and Bobby McGee" as the gold standard's on how to make a song your own.
Another quick observation - you are billing yourself as an Ex Metal Elitist, and while you are expanding to other sub-genres of metal, this channel is still almost exclusively metal. This is not a criticism, just an observation, and I would love to see you react to some non-metal artists and bands as a way of furthering your musical journey. I hope you take this comment in the spirit it was intended. There is a lot of great music out there, both old and new, and it would be unfortunate to not have as wide an experience at possible.

To be clear, this is your channel and your journey, so while I am happy to provide opinions and suggestions, my hope is for your to enjoy what you are doing and to find value in it. Talking about performer time. Tommy tours 10 month a year all over the world with his two bands, the rest of the year he drops a new cover every week, making records and so on. I doubt he ever sleeps.
