Hey Brooke! I’ve been married for 3 years now, I’m 22 & we have two kids… talk about chaotic energy LOL. What can I say when ya know you know, anyways - If you want personal space that’s just something you have to communicate with your partner & they need to support you. My husband makes it a priority that I have time apart & without having a mental load. He will make sure the entire house is clean & cook a meal for me/ order something + take the babies out of the house so I can properly recharge & have peace. It just all boils down to having a partner, not just someone who you’re in a relationship with. A partner will make sure all your needs are met ❤️ happy holidays girl!

It's okay to politely say you need some space or me time! Whatever that looks like for you. If they're the right person, they'll totally understand and give you the space you need and vice versa :) It's easy when it's the right person!
Idk when you have a partner you kind of never want to be apart. I can be with my husband 24/7 even after 8 years. Also, eventually you both can be alone in the same room together. With the right person it makes sense.
Exactly this. Married for 1 year but together for 8, and we are “alone” but together if that makes sense, you can not say a word for 3 hours but you’re on separate couches, and it works lol

Key to having space when living with a significant other - have some hobbies that are separate. For example, he plays video games in his office upstairs while I watch whatever series I’m into or read a book or take a bath.
Just moved in with my boyfriend and we both moved out of our parents’ house right into living together. The key is to each have your own things! He loves video games and his computer is in our office. So then we he’s in there I hang in the living room and watch my own shows or read! We also both work outside of our house so we come home to each other, which helps.
hey Brooke, I've been living with my boyfriend for a a year and a half, and we both need our space to recharge, we share an office but he uses it mostly an retreats to it and I enjoy my me time watching RUclips or reading in the bedroom. The way as a married gal I get privacy is we have a large 2 story and after dinner on weeknights I go up to the spare room to watch “cat videos” and then decompress and catch up on everything message friends etc. When you get married you will get to know each others habits and usually
with a partner its the same thing, you just say you need some alone time and you sit in different rooms. and usually during the day you're both at work/doing your job so it really isn't as suffocating as it may seem!
I NEED alone time too! live with my bf and he respects that i need to go in the bedroom to read or watch youtube. key is to explain it’s not about them, and that you’ll be a better partner if you take care of your needs. love your channel and def need an Adina vlog!

I live with my S.O and honestly we both like alone time here and there. I travel for work so I appreciate those times I’m away but I just communicate when I need alone time and he will go hangout with his guy friends. You make time for yourself just like you would your partner or best friend!

I live with my husband (obviously 🤣) and we always just do our own thing all day. I mean he has a work out of the hom job and I work at home. Then in the evenings we always have dinner together and hangout. Sometimes we have seperate plans or he plays Xbox or something. We always like in a house though in the suburbs so we have plenty of room to be alone if we want to be alone.
I live with my partner and I also require a lot of alone time and we are super great at communicating that and respectful of that also! I either go in our room or our living room and she goes in our room ( we also have 3 bedrooms so we have space) or I go on a walk etc

We navigate personal time when you live with your significant other by straight up saying I need time to decompress and just going to the bedroom and watching tv, and he will stay in the living room or somewhere with friends. When your such an independent person your person will understand that you still need it!

I live with my boyfriend and *unpopular opinion* we have separate "rooms" but have sleepovers 5 or 6 nights of the week. I think it helps the relationship to have separate spaces for that decompress time. Side note- love you & you're doing great :)
I've been married for 17 years and we have 2 teenagers and I need alot of alone time too. We have couple friends but we also have separate friends and we have our own hobbies. He loves racing motorcycles and fishing and while he's doing that you can find me at home cuddled up reading. And we live in a small cottage home. You will make it work one day, I have no doubt.
With a significant other it's called personal time 😌 my fiancé will go see friends or play basketball or video games and on other days when I see friends for happy hour it gives you nights alone which is nice for silent relationship time 😂

I live with my boyfriend and we are really good about communicating alone time. I seem to need more than him (lol) but I just say “ok.. I’m going to to watch RUclips in bed :) ily bye” …but at first, he would follow me to the room and chill with me so I realized I needed to physically verbalize “I need alone time sometimes but that has nothing negative to do with you” and now it’s perfect ❤️

When it comes to personal time my husband and I each have our things that we enjoy doing independently and we are just straightforward about it. For example, last night I told him I was going to put our baby down and then I was going to go in our room and watch a movie. He was watching some thing else and that was perfectly fine.
