The owner of the antique shop in the mall was part of the project with Yukari and Mitsuru's fathers, and Ikutsuki; the documents at each block end were her journaling up to her disillusionment with the project's direction (and eventually abandoning it altogether). No wonder she is capable of turning personas into weapons through forgotten pieces of equipment.
Loved the special segment! Glad that there is someone else who loves digging deeper into the societal and political messages of games. That’s a big reason why I love Atlus. I know you said you were only able to get up to Skypia in One Piece before you got bored. But I can 100% guarantee that you’d be intrigued by its deeper meanings which surface more the longer you watch. I actually think One Piece showcases the societal and political issues even better than Persona.
Also if you’re wondering why the 5 bucks - I’ve been meaning to give you a little tip for a while because you deserve it and I appreciate the grind! Been keeping me motivated as I’m also grinding for a busy project.
I got into a car crash, lost my job, and lost a lot of my ambition to the point where I am a shell of myself. What you said about “giving up not caring anymore” hits home. Everytime I want to make a change I fall back into bad habits and i am not sure what should I do. Im feeling kinda solid now but idk how long this going to last. Johne you got any advice man

I love the TartarusTalks segment! I never thought about how the economic boom and downfall in Japan is related to the whole mood of the game - it really sets the tone for why a lot of people would feel apathy etc. even though this game takes place in 2009 (right after the 2008 crisis as well!) I think talking about the suicide rates skyrocketing and nihilism is also very important.
I know I'm commenting this on a random video, but I just found Johne after years of trying to remember who he was from when I was extremely into Yo-Kai Watch! Recently decided to 100% the English Series again for Nostalgia since I put so many hours into the series and I'm just so happy to see Johne still making content 8 years later 🥹 I'll be sure to binge watch the Persona series since it is another all time favourite series haha

I think i may have to shift my view point on you Johne, after that bit of dressing down of the real world. What we could do is put down the older generations who got us all here and then teach the newer generations what to do and how we could have handled this situation better. We could pressure our political systems into being better then what they are. The problem is when you have so many people just trying to get through the 9 till 5 everyday there not going to be interested in politics or anything. Because there just barely getting through the day. I have been extremely unlucky in my life. I spent my childhood having the shit kicked out of me. Only to turn into an adult and immediately have to be a carer for my parents. Getting work here in the UK is a nightmare. Especially with the conservatives in power for the last 14 years, literally wrecking every single thing they could break. We cant even drink our own tap water because its got literal shit in it. Normally i dont like mixing politics with games but this was that was quite interesting. A nice little history/politics lesson
