Wait im confused... i saw a comment and u said that it was a contra alto and that piece is in contrabass. Did you have to transcribe this piece because contra alto is eb and contrabass is bb. or did you just play how it was written.
The original piece in the score is written for contrabass, which is what my director originally sent to me, but I only have a contralto and so I transposed Bb to Eb, but on my computer I only had the Bb part saved to use in the video cause I deleted the transposition.
i’m learning contra (alto, i think thats the one that was played in this vid) clairy but i’m struggling sm with those rlly low notes n i have sm questions. do u have any tips??😭
lower your jaw. similar to getting low notes on Bb or bass. spend some time doing long tones down in that lower register. make sure you are taking in more mouthpiece too having your mouth close where the reed meets the mpc
@@jacksondecanio real tho. once we had to do it and the 1st chairs had the choir melody or whatever its called behind the lows and being 1st chair clairy was so much pain. you did really well though!
3:21 Wow, the contrast between the low and high is actually awesome here!
it is absolutely gorgeous
when the clarinet is so low that you can barely hear it
thats how you know its a good piece
Did you get your own contrabass or did your school provide it for you?
luckily school provides it so i dont have to pay the crazy costs
but it is old
@@jacksondecanio what model is it?
um leblanc something contra alto
i forget the exact model but it is one of the US ones
