Fun fact about the last item, the corn sheller: Field corn has a brown corn cob where garden corn has a white corn cob. Bushel baskets of each were placed in the outdoor toilet known as a johnny house to be used as toilet paper. First, you'd wipe with a brown cob and then a white cob to see if you needed another brown cob. Times were rough back in those days, and so was the toilet paper.

The cobs were then dried, and burned in the stove for heat. That's REAL recycling!

As a kid I was given two brown cobs and one white cob. The white was used last .

One of the luxuries of living next to a cotton field. Oh, and having extra money for a bag of lime.

A corn sheller like that had a clamp so it could be mounted on an open wood box and the kernels of corn would drop into it.

The last item is a sheller for dry corn. I spent many hours in the corn crib shelling corn to feed the animals.

The corn sheller would drop the kernels into the box and kick the cobs out in a separate pile. I got a few of the others too, yarn winder, sheet/clothes rack and scale.

I got close on two today - the hair, which I thought was an old shawl fastener, & the clothing drying system, which I thought was airing cupboards for linens.

What you called a wool winder is actually a Swift you put a Hank of yarn on it then use a wool winder to wind the yarn or hand wind the yarn into a ball.

I left a comment earlier about this being a corn sheller but it was also just a little more important than that it’s ease of use made it easy to remove the kernels from the cobs for Chicken feed etc but also aided in the removal of the kernels to be used in replanting the kernels to be used as seed corn, wheat seed also used to be cleaned from the feild and used as seed for replanted before everything became patented and became GMO today farmers can loose there entire farms and face prison sentences for trying to reuse seeds from the crops the have planted
