Hi I'm Kathryn!
I am a former soloist with the New York City Ballet and Miami City Ballet. When I was a young student, I was always looking for insights into the ballet world and how to improve my dancing as well as beauty and lifestyle tips. Now that I am a professional, it is my turn to share.
On my channel I make ballet, beauty, and lifestyle videos for everyone of all ages. My goal is help dancers improve and achieve their dreams as well as open up the ballet world to non dancers. Let's bring the joy back to ballet! You will see many different kinds of videos here including ballet classes, workouts, Q and A sessions, life advice, performances, beauty tutorials, technique tips, and more. I hope you find all of my videos helpful!

Katie - I wore a wig for fourteen years after cancer and it finally started growing back this past year. A true miracle after 14 years. Anyway, you have the best attitude about your hair. I was the same way, there's no shame in my game, it's just been part of the journey. Continue to be well and be your naturally beautiful self - Diana
Thank you so much Diana!
6 year breast cancer survivor 🙋♀️. I had to wear a wig and as soon my hair grew back I have been in Biotin and other vitamins . 😊
@@balletmeli Be careful with the Biotin. Obviously as a Cancer survivor you're used to way more follow up appointments than the average person, Biotin can muck up some of your test results when you get bloodwork.
Otherwise, you probably already know your stuff. All the Best. NEC for the win.
@@katydid5088 thank you I appreciate that . Yes Biotin was recommended to me by my oncologist. Thank you again. 😊
Katie casually ripping her tracks out is the quality content that I signed up for 😂😂😭❤️
Talking about not wearing flat shoes much any more made me remember when my not at all Catholic self would jokingly/not-jokingly give up flat shoes for Lent for a few years when I was in training. I would take them out of my bag even so I didn't have an excuse. If it was ballet, I wore my pointe shoes, and if it was something that required demi-pointe I would go barefoot. Really helped to build both sets of callouses ahead of spring performances and then summer intensives which always involved both pointe pieces and barefoot pieces!
Kathryn, I just want to thank you for all the hard work you put into your online classes here on RUclips. When you said it took you two hours to film the disney barres, I was like...Wow! I am sure that doesn't count editing them as well. I have been loving the beginner disney barre and I have noticed I am getting stronger as well. Thank you so much! 🥰❤
Thank you so much! My pleasure!
Thanks for mentioning the hair extensions. I am anemic and have chronic illness with thyroid and immune issues. When women lose their hair, I think it is so difficult. I’m so happy how well your doing and on your engagement and dancing. It always gives me a boost.
Thank you Alyssa!!!
I do calf rises in all my classes when I teach as there was research from Australia a few years ago that said a series of relevés at the end of barre significantly reduced lower leg injuries in dancers. So all my students, from teeny tiniest humans to adults have to do rises at the end of barre.
I came here to say the same thing!
Your hair looks gorgeous, yes yours!
I wear a full-coverage wig for religious reasons, and whenever I get a compliment on how nice my hair looks, well I picked this thing out and paid for it, it sure as heck is mine! ;)
I can’t believe we wear the same foundation and the SAME SHADE! I am fan girling so hard 🤣
I was wondering what your current beauty favorites have been lately. I'm really in love with that berry-colored lipstick. Cool-toned fall makeup looks are my latest obsession.
P.S. I'm also fair-skinned so I understand the pain of trying to find bold lip colors that aren't too bright.
Dear Kathryn, it is so good to see you this morning. Thank you for all you shared. I am turning 62 on rememberance day
Started ballet 22 months ago carrying an extra 20 lbs on my 5 foot 3.5 inches frame. Watching your videos has encouraged me so much in the matter of eating well and not obsessing over weight loss, which at my age, does not come easily.
Your videos were again, what helped me persevere safely through injuries and when I struggled with posture and balance, guess who helped me?
You again.
I go to an excellent studio, but when I struggle with something, I just look for one of your videos, I always find what I need.
Thank you so much for sharing this with me. I’m SO proud of you! That’s amazing. Happy Early Birthday, and much love to you!!!! ❤️
@@kathryn_morgan thank you😘
Doris! How you've inspired me! We're so similar. I started ballet at 47 1/2 and I'm now 51 1/2. I still carry an extra 20 pounds, but it was more than that so yay for progress!!. . .and you're taller than me. :D I also have a great studio, but it's (understandably) focused on the kids. So the online adult ballet world (Broche Ballet and Kathyrn Morgan mostly) and comments like yours are so encouraging and helpful! Thank you for sharing!! Dance sister!! And Happy Early B'day :)
@@tammygant4216 thank you Tammy.😘
Ok, except all the rest. Can we take a second and talk about how stunningly beautiful this woman is?
Probably one of the prettiest and sweetest women's faces I've seen, honestly!🥰❤️
Awwww you’re so sweet! Thank you!
That moment when you find out you wear the same soft shoes as your dance idol 🥲
I love Cloud and Victory, because their sizes are so inclusive. I am tall and relatively thin adult beginner and I am never quite sure whether leotards fit me. Average sized women, who don't have the "typical dancer" shape have it even harder than me. Plus they have a great sense of humor!
AGREED! Min is the BEST!
#thinthyroidhair. I feel you, girl. We look fabulous no matter how we get it done lol.
As a hairstylist, a leave in biotin product is brilliant, the product shown in video is a great one! Biotin is one of those ingredients that are commonly thrown around in relation to hair growth, however when you see them in those (typically gimmicky) hair supplements or even regular supplements they can wreak havoc on the skin, make you break out and potentially cause other problems, that’s why a topical is so great! Another line I like to recommend is Olaplex. It’s often mentioned alongside hair that has been colored, lightened or chemically treated otherwise, but it is also a great option on natural (virgin) hair just as well by helping to restore and/or keep those bonds strong.👌🏼
Totally agree about Olaplex. I used to use it a lot on my hair when it was longer. It helped a ton!
Katie you are looking wonderful..healthy and beautiful. I think the new meds are the right ones for you, it’s lovely to see you so vivacious and full of energy, you are positively glowing.
Love how authentic and down to earth you are! Thank you for another wonderful video, you are awesome!
I LOVE your honesty!!!
Thank you for the hard work and effort you put in your videos Kaitlyn! I’m super excited cause you inspired me to start dancing at 15 (ballet) You’re awesome!
So happy you did this video!!!
Katie, when your video started playing, I thought you looked so beautiful, I love how you know what colours suit you because it really works so I am trying to find my colours. I loved this video so much and it gave me some ideas for Christmas 🎅🏼 Thank you💕
Love seeing your favourites, the lipstick is so beautiful on you!
Will you be doing a Holiday gift guide/essentials/favourites? That would be amazing!
I will work on that for sure!
Oh the Kitri clip! I would love to see you do that whole variation!!
Also that baby blue top looks so pretty on you. 😁👍
Thank you so much for all your love and support katie! You have helped me so much in my ballet carreer! love u!
Much love to you back!
Thank you for being such a positive role model for young dancers. My teen daughter dances and there are some negative influences in that world that make me uncomfortable. It's so nice for her to have some positive ballet media to consume.
It's truly my pleasure. And that is the MOST important thing to me, dancing aside! I try and be that for young dancers.
THANK-YOU! You are a beautiful lady and dancer. I don't if it is just out of luck but... my hair has gotten healthier and longer since I started massaging my scalp and ends with sunflower oil twice a day. 💜🙏
I love that your using” y’all “🤣🤣
Katie! My goodness!!!!! Your eyes look so incredibly beautiful in this! You should wear blue every day!!! I think your makeup is making them sparkle too.
Thanks Katie! Love you!
Same, hanging leos on velvet hangers!
I also have very fair skin and I know exactly what you mean about darker contour looking like dirt sometimes! I have often ended up using a taupe-y eyeshadow but never found something I love.
Would love to hear more of your makeup recommendations as it can feel hard to find the right tones for very fair skin sometimes!
Thank you so much for showing your mic setup!! That's really helpful actually :)
Love these type of videos 🌷
Just coming back to say I received the Bodile warm up pants for Christmas and they exceed expectations 😍 soooo quality, and they move super well. I don't need to hike them up to do a grand plie, so it's a 10/10 for me 😅 thanks for the recommendation!! 💙
You're hair looks amazing! So long and thick! Love seeing your videos!!
Thank you so much teacher 💗💞❤💙💙💙🩰🩰🩰
thank you so much for posting these kinds of videos! I'm a 13 year old dancer, and you're videos are always very helpful or inspiring.
My pleasure!
I love the realness!
I love that Kitri variation.
Can I just say, you look gorgeous in every video! and your natural hair looks great too!🤗
love the hair color, it really make your eyes pop.
Yay I can’t wait for this!!
Your hair looks great 💗💗💗
Katie, for your hair, have you ever looked at the Curly Girl Method (which works for curly and wavy hair)? It looks like you have a natural wave. My hair was super thin and broke a lot before I switched to the CGM, but when I started wearing it curly it got so much thicker (even though my hair falls out like you wouldn't believe). I also found that Folate/folic acid supplements (typically prenatal supplements) helped a lot! Maybe check with your doc! :) Also! Your hair (even without the extensions) still looks great!
Interesting! I’ll look into that, thank you!
Yes! My hair has never been thin, but it is super fine and very slippery, and pre curly girl method it looked very much like yours Catherine. Straight-ish, verging on wavy. I am 18 months in to CG, and my hair is curly. I am not super strict with the method, but it does work. I now have issues actually ponytailing my hair for class, it is so voluminous (also got it cut to chin length in August which didn’t help).
Sorry, I spelled Kathryn very incorrectly! Sorry!
Love your vids so much!
Thank you!
I've been wearing the exact same short leg warmers for a couple of months and they are fantastic. I wear them for dance and for running. They really help keep an old injury warm, which makes movement much easier and I'm guessing safer. Thanks Katie - enjoyed the video as always. Be well..... Diana
They're so warm! I totally agree. And thank you!
BRAVO!!! CLIFFDuos 👏
I have 2 everyday with a tall 14oz. Glass of organic whole milk ice 🧊 🥶 COLD.
DELICIOUS.
Thank you for including me in this Kathryn! Loved dancing with you!!💗💗
You’re a beauty!!!
Where did you get your sweater? It’s so pretty! And that color is gorgeous on you!
Defo checking out a few of these things. ☺️ those skirts are so so pretty.
1. I'm so glad your hair is growing back. Hashimoto's picked the wrong person to mess with.
2. I don't dance, but back before COVID, Clif Bars were probably my favourite snack for after karate, and now I know why--because, like dance, karate involves a lot of spurts of energy as well. So, that's some good insight. :)
3. I don't wear foundation, but now I'm going to see if Revlon Colour Stay makes concealer too. I've been wearing Cover Girl, and it wears off after a few hours, so maybe I should take a page from the Book of Kathryn.
You are so pretty!
Aww thank you!
I don’t even do ballet anymore but I love your videos ❤️
I love your new hair color! )
Thank you! I’ve had it for awhile- it just looks FAR darker in this video- I didn’t expose it properly! Oh well haha
Just curious about the new meds as someone who also is struggling with Hashimoto's. Being on cytomel really helps but always looking for another option.
💜💜💜💜
congratulations on the sponsorship :)
Thank you!
Katie, the first thing I thought when I started the video is WOW, your makeup is STUNNING! Also as a fellow fair-skinned girl I burst out laughing when you said most contours look like dirt on your face! SAME. Also, I'm not sure if you can take them with your thyroid meds but prenatal vitamins do amazing things for your hair...I kept taking them after I had my babies because I love what they do for my hair!
Oh that's brilliant! I never thought of that!
@@kathryn_morgan it's worth a try! They're great for your nails too!
What Dr. Scholl inserts do you use?
No, your hairline is absolutely getting thicker❤️❤️ beautiful! You look amazing and so happy.
Your nails are STUNNING! What brand/formula/color do you use?
Thank you so much! This is the SMS (dip). I got it done at a salon. It’s color 64 (at least at my place!)
Awesome video 😊
And I wanted to say... Despite the clip ons I wanted to say that yoir hair looks really nice... Much healthier than it has in the past 😊
Thank you!
💖
Medication/hair/scalp product update? Please oh please! 😊💗
I would assume having a second style of shoe would be a good workout for your feet as a sort of cross conditioning. They won't ever be able to get "used to" a shoe if you are switching them out every little bit so they have to work differently
Oh for sure! It actually does help a lot
Hi Katie! I just wanted to say your videos are so inspiring and helpful and your channel has helped me improve my dancing SO much. I would love it if you could do more normal classes on pointe :) Love u!!
Thank you so much! I will keep working on that! xoxo
Hi Katie,
Do you have any advice for dancers with no access to pre-pro training? I live in a medium-sized city with a few local studios, but nothing rigorous enough for the ballet world.
Thank you so much for any advice.
Love from an adoring student
This is tricky. Just make sure you are working hard but smartly in every class you take. You can always do extra classes at second studio if that's possible for you. (I did this when I was younger). A lot of dancers do! Just keep training where you can. Doing ANYTHING will get your further than you think!
Thanks for sharing your essentials! What lengths are the moore skirts that you showed?
I believe those are the short. The regular are a little bit longer
@@kathryn_morgan thank you!
What thyroid med are you on. I'm on Armor.. (disicated pig hormone)
katie i LOVE your sweater!!! where is it from??
It’s a brand called Cupcakes and Cashmere (how fun is that?)
@@kathryn_morgan i love it!! thank you so much 💖
Enjoying this talk though I'm a guy!
So…with all the changes at NYCB, did you ever think about just asking to get back in as a soloist again? You’re so amazing and obviously have gotten your issues worked out. They should be more than supportive. Something to think about.
More like Cliff Barre!🤣
10:00 Your face was so close to the floor! That is trust!
Indeed haha
