Colin and Shaun, I never get tired of seeing your lovely aqueducts! England has such beautiful architecture. Otis is officially now a water dog! Enjoy your beautiful Spring - working on it , here in Ontario!
Hello from sunny Central Queensland Australia. Have just binge watched all your vlogs to here and have enjoyed everyone of them. The highs the lows and the way you have worked through them all. Thank you so much for the joy you have brought to us all, those big belly laughs included, the history, the countryside, Dillon and Otis and the life of canal boat dwellers. I will have to live the travels through you both. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I’m now looking forward to your weekly vlogs as they arrive in my notifications box. 🍷 🍫 🍭 🫖 🍲 ❤️
This is my friday treat, wathching the two gentlemen boaters giving us a history lesson interwoven with interesting commentary superb music choices which always fit the scenery, well worth waiting for.
Gents - I have to comment, I've meant to a number of times. I just want to say, I have absolutely no involvement or real interest in taking to the canals (frankly I'm terrified of locks/waterfalls/tunnels!!) and honestly our lives seem very different, I'm not entirely sure how I even stumbled across your channel - but somehow I've found real joy following your videos, and catching up on old ones over the last few weeks. Something very refreshing about the calming yet entertaining way you produce these. Top quality post production too. Credit where due. Something about the pair of you as well, seem like such a great pair of blokes - I hope I bump into you at some point on the canals of Mancunian/NW!
Go back and catch the defiant look on Otis' when he's barking at you. That little stinker may have fallen in but he's not sorry about it in the slightest! Lol. Thanks for another wonderful.episode. I look forward to this every week.
Why on earth would anyone give a thumbs down to these delightful relaxing videos? I really love them and appreciate the fun and work that goes into them and the fabulous music that you add to them, many thanks.😘
Ah, we have a very small group of trolls who dislike us for their own reasons. It honestly doesn't bother us because their engagement, positive or not, counts towards the popularity of our channel and boosts us in RUclips's search and recommendations. But 🤫 don't tell them that 😉
Colin, all other so-called sound engineers involved in film making SHOULD take heed of your ability to know when, where, and what volume level to use when inserting background music into their productions. Thanks for another great video!
Ya know, I'm not real sure that Otis would consider the event a mishap ... Maybe I'm imagining things, but sitting in the doorway at 10:53 he gives a vibe that he's kind of pleased with himself.
Hi Colin and Shaun , I’m in NZ and have been watching your blogs now for a couple of months, I work for a public hospital in mental health and addictions, the way you explain what your dealing with is really helping me understand some of our clients so much better, you 2 do an awesome job and as a bonus am learning heaps of history 👍
Goodness we needed that vlog today. Been a bad bad day. But that was nice and gentle. Nice music. Great facts. And Otis showing that he’s a good swimmer. Hope you’ve recovered from leaving the Peak Forest. Enjoy whatever comes next. Ta. C&Lx

Loving the whole Peak Forest Canal vlogs, where I grew up and worked. Worked as a planner at High Peak Council when the Bugsworth arm was restored and was a planner at Tameside MBC when Portland Basin was rebuilt. Glad you liked the museum and flats above because when I started at Ashton the warehouse building was a burned out wreck. It was a hell of a battle to get a building that reasonably resembled the original one whilst making it suitable for modern living. Depending on which way you turn you'll either travel through another huge planning project, the reinstatement of the canal through Stalybridge, or the equally troublesome Droylsden Marina project. Beautiful cinematography and views. When Rose Hill Tunnel collapsed, was anyone in it? This was just the thing I needed while recovering from my second COVID19 shot. Thanks guys!!¹
Hello from Tennessee USA. Glad Otis is safe after falling in the canal. He is such a cute puppy. Your travels on your narrow boat is so refreshing to see. So informational about the country side and cities you two travel. Thank you two for sharing your lives with and knowledge with us.
Congratulations from Germany on 101,000 subscribers! I love this words-filled channel and the water-filled canal and the 2 people, the swimming dog and the graceful silver fox. And the aesthetics of everything…. 😜💋
i come across you guys about a month ago and have worked my way trough all your videos already (been on alot of boring night shift). bloody love your videos and you both are amazing. keep up the great videos
Ahh--beautiful views of the canals and countryside, as always. A total pleasure to watch, even Otis going overboard! So sad about the horses, though. Is there a memorial to those wonderful beasts that contributed so much on the canals?
I started watching your channel about a month ago and started at the beginning. Lovely to see you were local to me, I live about 1.5 miles away from Portland Basin and our motor home is in storage very close to it. I've never been on a narrow boat but it's very similar to motor homing and, Colin, you were such a wuss about emptying the toilet cassette 😂, I do it all the time with no problems at all. Anyway, thanks for these videos, I'm loving them.
I was watching from my office conservatory this morning at 9:10 and peered over my monitors to see a boat going past. I thought, "That paint scheme looks a lot like Silver Fox" and, what do you know, there was Otis and Sean at the tiller. It was Silver Fox but of course I won't spoil the surprise by saying where they were sighted.
Thank you again for all the great history. Every time I watch your vlogs I learn something. It’s fantastic. Poor little Otis! I hope he wasn’t too traumatised by his dunk in the canal. He’s a good little swimmer. Now I must go and look up the difference between aqueduct and viaduct. I always forget!
No they don't, we watch because we are all in love with Colin, Shaun and Otis! Not neccessarily in that order! The history is undoubtedly interesting and puts the canals nicely where they should be in the surroundings, a 'sense of place' l think it's called, but basically it is those three that we watch for! xx
HI FOXES AFLOAT I AM QUITE NEW TO YOUR CHANNEL, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOU TO. YOU ALWAYS HAVE BRILLIANT VLOGS NOT JUST FOR THE BEAUTIFUL PLACES YOU GO TO ON YOUR AMAZING, BOAT BUT YOU HAVE ALWAYS GOT SUCH INTERESTING STORIES ABOUT THE PLACE. LOVE YOUR DOG TO SO CUTE 🐕👌😊💯THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR CHANNEL IT REALLY DOES MAKE ME SMILE, LAUGH 🙏👍☺️☺️CHARLOTTE XX
Thanks guys for another fantastic video and accompanying music. Your trip from Marple to Portland Basin took me back 55 years to my childhood, cycling along the towpath, playing on the old lift bridge & jumping across the locks that were full, we were fit & full of energy then. Lol. The canals in the '50's & '60's were abandoned and derelict,, but that's where our adventures were. Hope you got to look around the museum, very interesting. If you are going up the Huddersfield, moor up at the Western end of Standedge Tunnel and go to the first house next to the small carpark there. The lady is called Rusty and has a dog grooming parlour if you want to get Otis groomed. Mention my name. Give her my love. Thanks again. Cruise safe. K. Xx
ahww poor Otis, i remember when our dog fell in the river ,(greyhound) couldn't swim and large dog, trying to pull him out!! phew.!!. In the video, when Otis ears were dry his hair looked crimmped and reminded me of how i use to crimp my hair in the 80s..those were the days having hair that silky!! LOVELY.. I certainly did love the jane Austin sort of music, very fitting. thank you again, enjoy your Stay and I expect you will be off on your travels again soon.x
Thanks Colin Shaun and Otis another great video poor Otis falling in he sure know how to swim hope you all have great week love from New Zealand 😀😀😀😀👍👍👍👍👍🐶🐶🐶🐶
Been waiting all week for this since catching up on all your vlogs ! And it didn't disappoint! Another great vlog guys, love the drone footage and all the history you pack into 20 minutes. Brilliant 👏
@@beehill1 I only found the channel about 2 weeks ago now, watched a couple of recent videos and then headed back to number 1 to watch them all ! Been a great journey. Wish they could do two a week 😂😂
I walk that length of the canal between Marple and Romiley every day, great to see it from the "perspective" of the narrow boat. Great video, guys, keep it up!
I love Fridays, Foxes fix time :-) great vlog as always. I have gone back to the beginning and watching again. Always catch something you missed 1st time round. 5 star guys and the swimmer Otis :-)
This video has everything. Scenery. Laden with historical anecdotes. And a diving dog. The 50’s Cocktail Lounge music is a nice complement, too. What could be better? Thanks, guys.
Its 1am. I really should get to bed. But have get me fix in! Love your video's Really enjoy the history and the views, but most all you guy are So fun to watch.
I was out for a walk with my wife and 2 children the other day not far from a rail track and when a train came rushing by we all shouted traaaaain......where did we get that from?😀
I’m just amazed at how informative all your videos are!! Find your channel incredibly interesting, and I’m a 23 year old girl who hasn’t ever had an interest in boating, thank you guys😁
So...have you ever lost a camera with some of those fancy (but very nice looking) shots like along a tunnel wall or roof? Anything ever jump out and knock your camera? I LOVE the shots, and you just seem to keep coming up with more and more creative footage. Just curious about the risk factor :D
Came over the Marple Viaduct today on the train and marvelled at the aquaduct's majesty! I did wonder if you guys were in the area. Keep up the great videos! 👌🏻☺️
Laurel and Hardy, Tom and Dicky Smothers, Burns and Allen, Rowan and Martin of Laugh In. And now (drum roll) Colin and Shaun take their place among the great comedy teams! BTW, Dan Rowan bought a Narrow boat and spent his retirement years doing what you gents are doing, without the camera! You bet your bippy!
Cool juxtaposition of the viaduct and the aqua duct even includes a train! Good timing! With all the geese and ducks I’m surprised Otis isn’t in the water more. Good training guys
"Nipsy tingly"! You lads are going to completely change my vocabulary...and I love it!😁 Enjoyable, as always. Though I knew who was going into the canal. (Episode 84😉)

ahww poor Otis, i remember when our dog fell in the river ,(greyhound) couldn't swim and large dog, trying to pull him out!!
Haha! Yeah, he has amazing natural crimped ear fur 😂
Another great vlog Colin and Shaun!
Thanks so much!

Loving you guys what a breath of fresh air, I came across your vlogs when recommended by another channel I watch called Us Two so thanks to Us Two x
Awesome! Thank you and welcome!
Those poor horses. I wonder if anyone ever thought to make a little memorial for them? Thank you again for the videos. Xxxxx
💜
Been waiting all week for this since catching up on all your vlogs ! And it didn't disappoint! Another great vlog guys, love the drone footage and all the history you pack into 20 minutes. Brilliant 👏
Yay! Thank you!
@@FoxesAfloat now I've gotta wait 7 days until the next ! 😂😂😂
I’ve just finished catching up too. I started back at the beginning again so I get my fix! X
Wow, thank you!
Oh woopsie, poor Otis! Great vlog, always entertaining!
Thank you!
I love Fridays, Foxes fix time :-) great vlog as always. I have gone back to the beginning and watching again. Always catch something you missed 1st time round. 5 star guys and the swimmer Otis :-)
Thanks so much!
This video has everything. Scenery. Laden with historical anecdotes. And a diving dog. The 50’s Cocktail Lounge music is a nice complement, too.
What could be better? Thanks, guys.
Aww, cheers Glenn
Another enjoyable, make me smile & laugh video.
It amazes me how true your rudder steers. Now that doesn't sound quite right. ✌🏻💖😎
😂
Its 1am. I really should get to bed. But have get me fix in! Love your video's Really enjoy the history and the views, but most all you guy are So fun to watch.
Good night! x
The near miss bridge shots are back. Woop woop. Lovely blog as always, wouldn't miss it for anything.
Haha! Couldn't resist a couple 😉
I was out for a walk with my wife and 2 children the other day not far from a rail track and when a train came rushing by we all shouted traaaaain......where did we get that from?😀
😂😂😂
I’m just amazed at how informative all your videos are!! Find your channel incredibly interesting, and I’m a 23 year old girl who hasn’t ever had an interest in boating, thank you guys😁
Totally our pleasure, Eve 👍🏻💜
Oh no! Can’t wait to see who!
😬
"Nothing like a good blowout" brilliant! Love how you both have a laugh with it !
Got to laugh!
Fantastic vlog. Love watching you 3. You make every little detail interesting. Blessings to you all XXX
Awwwww thank you, Karen xxx
You guys just get better and better (can I say that?) Once again you make my Friday wonderful. Thank you so much, love your stuff (can I say that?).
Wow, thank you!
So...have you ever lost a camera with some of those fancy (but very nice looking) shots like along a tunnel wall or roof? Anything ever jump out and knock your camera? I LOVE the shots, and you just seem to keep coming up with more and more creative footage. Just curious about the risk factor :D
Yup! Comes with the risks of the job 👍🏻
Came over the Marple Viaduct today on the train and marvelled at the aquaduct's majesty! I did wonder if you guys were in the area. Keep up the great videos! 👌🏻☺️
Nice one 👍🏻
Laurel and Hardy, Tom and Dicky Smothers, Burns and Allen, Rowan and Martin of Laugh In. And now (drum roll) Colin and Shaun take their place among the great comedy teams! BTW, Dan Rowan bought a Narrow boat and spent his retirement years doing what you gents are doing, without the camera! You bet your bippy!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Cool juxtaposition of the viaduct and the aqua duct even includes a train! Good timing! With all the geese and ducks I’m surprised Otis isn’t in the water more. Good training guys
Thanks 👍
"Nipsy tingly"! You lads are going to completely change my vocabulary...and I love it!😁
Enjoyable, as always. Though I knew who was going into the canal. (Episode 84😉)
Hehe. Yup 🐶
It's always so sad when the video ends - Can't wait for next week's video!!!!
Thank you so much! 👍🏻💜
22,000 views, and its only been up four hours, you guys rock

Congratulations for reaching 100k subscribers. As usual another brilliant vlog. A soggy wet furbaby will lovely wavy ears. 😀🐕
