We acknowledge you’re not subscriber “number” oriented as you’ve mentioned before, (your focus clearly remains creating wonderful quality vlogs) ,however, a well deserved congratulations on passing 101k, so well done boys...now the next 100,000😉🤗
Thank you! x
You gentlemen, have excellent documentary skills...professional. The research provides insight into the past. You both utilize situational humor and realism. Thank you my friends for giving everyone a glimps into the past. Well done...
Wow, thank you!
You know, whenever I see a train I will shout traaaaaaaain.... no idea where got that from
Haha! 😂
ditto for planes and sheep (but not cows, for some reason)
No not traaaaaain its TRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNN 😂
Automatically said TRRAAIIINNN when I saw it too.
I do that too now. It's funny.
The dunk in the canal reminded me of an episode of Keeping Up Appearances, when Hyacinth ended up in the canal. 😂🤣😂🤣❤️🇨🇦
😂😂😂
HaHa!!
P>>79
'Keeping up appearances' and 'Are you being served' are some of my favorite BBC shows growing up.
I remember that!
Soggy doggy zoomies! Poor Otis 🐾😂 lovely to see you out and about and enjoying some sunshine along the way too, and some wonderful historical insights as well. Those packet boats almost make the London Underground in the height of summer seem spacious! Thanks for another great vlog 👍🙂
Our pleasure !x
My family and I moved to Alberta, Canada 15 years ago. Whenever I watch your vlogs I feel so homesick. Thank you for a taste of home xxx
BC here!! *waves to province neighbour*
Our pleasure! x
@@alienfrommarss 😃
Who said comedy was dead.....you two have me in stitches....stay safe
Cheers, David 🤣👍🏻
This is my friday treat, wathching the two gentlemen boaters giving us a history lesson interwoven with interesting commentary superb music choices which always fit the scenery, well worth waiting for.
Our pleasure!
That information about the canal horses is rather sad. It's always fascinating to find out about little 'fixes' to things, like the metal straps on the bridge. The photography and artistry has continually struck me because it is beautiful and creative. Anyone would prefer a sweet factories scents to a paper/pulp one.Out takes are my favorite thing ever.
I miss the Swizzels factory so much! 💜
@@FoxesAfloat Cadburys is nice, too. I remember one near Chirk on the Llangollen Canal.
Thanks again, guys! You never fail to cheer me up!
Aww, brilliant, James 👍🏻
Me too, you guys make my day!
Wow! That went by quick.
😂
I love my friday afternoon in your company. Lovelly video as always😀Love and kisses to Otis, the canalswimmer💋💋 Looking forward to next weeks adventure on The Silver Fox. Enjoy your week end🌞
Yay! Thank you!
Hello from sunny Central Queensland Australia. Have just binge watched all your vlogs to here and have enjoyed everyone of them. The highs the lows and the way you have worked through them all. Thank you so much for the joy you have brought to us all, those big belly laughs included, the history, the countryside, Dillon and Otis and the life of canal boat dwellers. I will have to live the travels through you both.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I’m now looking forward to your weekly vlogs as they arrive in my notifications box. 🍷 🍫 🍭 🫖 🍲 ❤️
Thank you so much! 👍🏻💜
Funny thing is I catch myself ducking when you come to the tunnels!!!!!! Nice vlog this week.
No way! 😂😂😂
Colin, all other so-called sound engineers involved in film making SHOULD take heed of your ability to know when, where, and what volume level to use when inserting background music into their productions. Thanks for another great video!
Wow, thanks!
I agree. This is the only vlog where I don't have to continually change the volume when listening with headphones.
Colin and Shaun, I never get tired of seeing your lovely aqueducts! England has such beautiful architecture. Otis is officially now a water dog! Enjoy your beautiful Spring - working on it , here in Ontario!
Our pleasure!
Well Deserved 100,000 subscriber Milestone.Well done to Colin and Shaun.!!!!!
Aww, thanks Chris! x
Gents - I have to comment, I've meant to a number of times. I just want to say, I have absolutely no involvement or real interest in taking to the canals (frankly I'm terrified of locks/waterfalls/tunnels!!) and honestly our lives seem very different, I'm not entirely sure how I even stumbled across your channel - but somehow I've found real joy following your videos, and catching up on old ones over the last few weeks.
Something very refreshing about the calming yet entertaining way you produce these. Top quality post production too.
Credit where due.
Something about the pair of you as well, seem like such a great pair of blokes - I hope I bump into you at some point on the canals of Mancunian/NW!
Awww, thanks, Ethan. Definitely say hello if we pass 👍🏻💜
Hi Colin and Shaun , I’m in NZ and have been watching your blogs now for a couple of months, I work for a public hospital in mental health and addictions, the way you explain what your dealing with is really helping me understand some of our clients so much better, you 2 do an awesome job and as a bonus am learning heaps of history 👍
Nice one. Thanks Christine 👍🏻💜
I think Otis only pretends to “slip”! He just wants a quick dip. He’s doing a good job of training you guys.
Yeah, he knows he gets attention! 😂
Luv you guys. I learn a lot, and more importantly, laugh a lot.
Thanks, Annabel!
Poor little dog. He is such a fine looking animal. Glad his falls aren't too often. Loving the music especially in this vlog. Stay safe and have fun.
Thank you! 😊
Love the music! Love Otis! Love Shaun's laugh! Love the vlog Colin!! Another great one!!
Thanks so much!!
Same here.
@@TomLaceyJohnson Me 2. Love these 3
Love your blogs and your music choices is perfect. Any way you can tell us the musical artist on this week blog. Thank you and love to you both.
Happy to see Otis is none the worse for wear after his mishap. Thank you, and happy trails.
Yeah, he's fine x
Ya know, I'm not real sure that Otis would consider the event a mishap ...
Maybe I'm imagining things, but sitting in the doorway at 10:53 he gives a vibe that he's kind of pleased with himself.
Go back and catch the defiant look on Otis' when he's barking at you. That little stinker may have fallen in but he's not sorry about it in the slightest! Lol.
Thanks for another wonderful.episode. I look forward to this every week.
He’s totally not sorry 👍🏻💜
love the antics and creative education on the subject of local canal history! "Nippy Nobby on his icebreaker Big Bertha." -it's these juicy tid bits of knowledge that keeps me coming back. lol All the best and be well.
Hehe. Thank you!
I was watching from my office conservatory this morning at 9:10 and peered over my monitors to see a boat going past. I thought, "That paint scheme looks a lot like Silver Fox" and, what do you know, there was Otis and Sean at the tiller. It was Silver Fox but of course I won't spoil the surprise by saying where they were sighted.
Haha! Lovely day for it too! 👍🏻
Goodness we needed that vlog today. Been a bad bad day. But that was nice and gentle. Nice music. Great facts. And Otis showing that he’s a good swimmer. Hope you’ve recovered from leaving the Peak Forest. Enjoy whatever comes next. Ta. C&Lx
Glad you enjoyed it. I want to go back to the Peak Forest!
Thanks for posting. Happy to see Otis is no worse for his dip!!😊
No doubt!
Why on earth would anyone give a thumbs down to these delightful relaxing videos? I really love them and appreciate the fun and work that goes into them and the fabulous music that you add to them, many thanks.😘
Ah, we have a very small group of trolls who dislike us for their own reasons. It honestly doesn't bother us because their engagement, positive or not, counts towards the popularity of our channel and boosts us in RUclips's search and recommendations. But 🤫 don't tell them that 😉
You do a lot of research which really enhances your videos. Plus you have a great memory...😉
Thank you, Rebecca 🙏❤️👍😎🏴
Beautiful cinematography and views. When Rose Hill Tunnel collapsed, was anyone in it?
This was just the thing I needed while recovering from my second COVID19 shot. Thanks guys!!¹
Our pleasure. I hope you’re feeling better soon. Nobody was in the tunnel at the time 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
you two are the most loveable guys on here
Aww, cheers, Robert
Otis's ears when they are wet are just gorgeous 😍🤗
🥰
Suffering some down days lately, just life an' all that. Watching you guys, as always, cheers me up xx
Sorry to hear that. I hope your mind sees the blue sky again soon.
Your editing skills are worthy of the bbc , awesome filming , so skilfull . Thankyou . but the little one had too fall in sometime , bless him.
Thanks 👍
Another great vlog Colin and Shaun!
Thanks so much!
Thanks great vlog 👍😀 , good historical points added in with the great views x
Thank you! x
Another brilliant video, such wonderful production values. You are the highlight of my Friday afternoon.
Wow, thank you!
My stomach flipped when you showed over the aqueduct down to the river (wobbly legs syndrome!). Your head is a mine of information Colin 👏. Shaun looks healthier each week 👍: and Otis gets more adventurous! Thank you for my weekly hit of pleasure.
Thank you so much! 👍🏻💜
I love your video style Colin. Informative narration with some great insights and local knowledge
Thank you 🙏
OMGosh ! I have been a Foxes Afloat viewer for over a year and this ! this ! is a Tour De Force video ! Your Video Camera work, Video Editing !!! , Story telling "Narrating" , and subject matter was Awesome !
Oh, and the music selection and mixing (ie: sound level control) was Perfect !
Your channel never fails to impress me.
As an old primitive youtuber..... I bow to you guys .....
Peace.
Wow, thank you!
Hi guys. Thanks for another fantastic and entertaining vlog. Highlight of the week for sure.
Nice one. Thanks, Gaz!
"Nothing like a good blowout" brilliant! Love how you both have a laugh with it !
Got to laugh!
Honestly, you two and the innuendos make me laugh because Shaun's face is a picture. So funny. As usual a great vlog guys. Much kudos to you both and Ottis. 🐕
Cheers, Joss
Always the best part of my friday. Thanks for another amazing blog lads. Xx
Our pleasure! x
Are you not entertained??? Please sir.. can I have more? On this sad day you 2 brightened my world & my thoughts of how great England really is... my condolences on the loss of his royal greatness...a man of the world. I hope in his travels he has at least watched a few of your vlogs...but I'm sure he has.. blessing to you guys. Cheers..🙋♂️😊❣🇬🇧
💜
i come across you guys about a month ago and have worked my way trough all your videos already (been on alot of boring night shift). bloody love your videos and you both are amazing. keep up the great videos
Welcome aboard!
You do know probably 90K watch this for the history, you do such a lovely job, can't wait till next week!
Thanks, Kathy!
No they don't, we watch because we are all in love with Colin, Shaun and Otis! Not neccessarily in that order! The history is undoubtedly interesting and puts the canals nicely where they should be in the surroundings, a 'sense of place' l think it's called, but basically it is those three that we watch for! xx
Was I the only one who ducked as the camera was heading for the low bridge ( yep I'm that daft ) and was the bad feeling at the end before or after the food delivery disaster .
Safe cruising lads .
Haha, no. Not just you.
Ahh--beautiful views of the canals and countryside, as always. A total pleasure to watch, even Otis going overboard! So sad about the horses, though. Is there a memorial to those wonderful beasts that contributed so much on the canals?
I don't think there is.
Still marvel at their ingenuity when they built aqueducts back in the day! Another gem guys, keep up the good work!
Thanks, Nigel!
I was out for a walk with my wife and 2 children the other day not far from a rail track and when a train came rushing by we all shouted traaaaain......where did we get that from?😀
😂😂😂
I appreciate the entertainment. Well done gentlemen.
Thank you so much! x
Otis overboard. How lovely. Soggy doggy. Great video again lads.
Thanks so much, Angela!
Loving the whole Peak Forest Canal vlogs, where I grew up and worked. Worked as a planner at High Peak Council when the Bugsworth arm was restored and was a planner at Tameside MBC when Portland Basin was rebuilt. Glad you liked the museum and flats above because when I started at Ashton the warehouse building was a burned out wreck. It was a hell of a battle to get a building that reasonably resembled the original one whilst making it suitable for modern living. Depending on which way you turn you'll either travel through another huge planning project, the reinstatement of the canal through Stalybridge, or the equally troublesome Droylsden Marina project. Can't wait for the next instalment.
The museum and flats looks like a job well done there... looks very much in keeping and a great backdrop to the basin. Was the basin elevation original or reconstructed ?
Thank you so much! 👍🏻💜
Hi, I'm new... well not new new, I'm fifty years old, but new as a viewer as I'm sure you knew, anyway thanks so much for being so entertaining, I've watched several hours of your videos and it's brought back so many childhood memories of boating holidays through my tens and teens. I'll look forward to catching many more episodes. Take care guys, Aaron x
Good morning, Aaron. Welcome to our channel. Glad you're enjoying what we do ❤️❤️🐾
Really loving your selections of piano music on this vlog! Just excellent! Best wishes from Myrtle Beach South Carolina as we make our trek north!
Thanks so much!
I still love you and never get tired of your fantastic videos.
Wow, thank you!
Otis is getting so grown up!
He's a terror! 🥰😂
Your such professionals when you do these vlogs, so interesting . Love you guys! Nice to see you xx
Thanks so much! 😊
Lovely to watch these videos. Greetings from Wellington, New Zealand.
Glad you like them! Thank you for watching xxxx
HELLO boys. A beautiful vlog as always, love the aquiducts, especially those tall ones.
Love the shot of Otis peeking around the corner. Hello Otis!
👋🏻🐾
Hello from Tennessee USA. Glad Otis is safe after falling in the canal. He is such a cute puppy.
Your travels on your narrow boat is so refreshing to see. So informational about the country side and cities you two travel.
Thank you two for sharing your lives with and knowledge with us.
Thank you so much!
Laurel and Hardy, Tom and Dicky Smothers, Burns and Allen, Rowan and Martin of Laugh In. And now (drum roll) Colin and Shaun take their place among the great comedy teams! BTW, Dan Rowan bought a Narrow boat and spent his retirement years doing what you gents are doing, without the camera! You bet your bippy!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The Lady with the dog at 11:02 was flashing at you Lads.
Haha! 😂
OMG! She does! How bad is it that I looked! 🤣
Just so nice to watch and I love the music. Otis did look worried when he fell in and it certainly does give him as you say, the zoomies, lol.
Yeah, he's not keen on the water 🤣
You guys are the loveliest guys. Always put a smile on my face.
Thank you so much! 👍🏻💜
Lots of interesting facts, those aqueducts are amazing structures. The packet boats sound like the “party” boat I went on in Birmingham. 😣.
Yeah, we remember those! 😂
I just love the geese and ducks on the canals. They are so beautiful
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Friday wouldn’t be Friday without you guys!
Thank you so much! 👍🏻💜
Omg! The camera angles, low bridges and tunnels had me ducking while watching this one!
Hehe! 🤣
I'm now binge watching. I'm really enjoying your videos 😊
Yay! Thank you!
Loving you guys what a breath of fresh air, I came across your vlogs when recommended by another channel I watch called Us Two so thanks to Us Two x
Awesome! Thank you and welcome!
Those poor horses. I wonder if anyone ever thought to make a little memorial for them? Thank you again for the videos. Xxxxx
💜
Love the history lesson stuff. That what really sets this channel apart.
Thank you so much! 👍🏻💜

Came over the Marple Viaduct today on the train and marvelled at the aquaduct's majesty! I did wonder if you guys were in the area. Keep up the great videos! 👌🏻☺️
Nice one 👍🏻
Lovely to see my old haunts of our teenage wanderings. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it
So...have you ever lost a camera with some of those fancy (but very nice looking) shots like along a tunnel wall or roof? Anything ever jump out and knock your camera? I LOVE the shots, and you just seem to keep coming up with more and more creative footage. Just curious about the risk factor :D
Yup! Comes with the risks of the job 👍🏻
Thanks so much for this beautiful touching series, Shaun so sorry about your dad. I can tell you've had a tough time, feel better soon.
Thanks so much
Yay finally up to date all your blogs in two weeks
Wow! x
Well done on another quality video with some fantastic camera angles.

"Nipsy tingly"! You lads are going to completely change my vocabulary...and I love it!😁
