Taste and Memory - Making Rose Jam with My Dad

- This year, there were so many roses at my dad’s house in Italy, and the smell and sight of them immediately took me back to some of my China travels: bingfen with rose jam in Chonqging and Chengdu, and Qiaobing in Dali (I’ve made another video about my hunt for Qiaobing, so if you like this video, you can check that one out, too!)
My dad and I made rose jam using Italian roses, and I got to take it home to Munich with me. I now have a small jar of Italian rose ram the smell and taste of which can transport me back to China (and of course to Italy) at an instant.
What smell or taste never fails to bring back memories for you?

超级喜欢吃云南的鲜花饼，云南感觉全是好东西。你们有没有尝试玫瑰露？2010年的时候在昆明一个鲜花饼房里喝到过，惊天好喝，可惜后面就没机会了。

Hahaha you know me too well - I'll always be sad when I'm not in Scotland or China. But having my delicious rose jam was a wonderful reminder of my travels in China. Sadly I ate the last of it yesterday (I'm too greedy 🥲)

I've been in Deli at mid April for 2 wks, lived in a nuly renovated White village BnB, is so beautifully , the ppl , the weather , the blue sky n the ancients cities. Only 1 thing cann fit in is the squat toilet 😿
@@gratefulheart5460 hahaha I actually don't mind the squat toilets, especially the public ones, it feels a lot more hygienic than the sitting ones, at least you don't have to touch anything hahahah 🫠
