From kyle texas a Chicano at 64 listening to Tejano music wow I am darn full of cancer but I as still happy. Nothing can top me from thinking otherwise. God, even today continues to bless me. My kids and grand kids are impressed with me. And I will never stop thanking him.

@@chrisc.4517 are you being stupid or what how do you say what instrument was he playing when he's the lead singer. and lived in Eagle Pass so I know who Gary Hobbs is.
Love this music! Takes me down memory lane! I'm from Tucson and grew up with this music!!! Thank you for all the Tejano mix! You're awesome! Rosemary Marmion
i love and remeber all the great music from garry hobbs. and my school mate morio is a great dummer. but i still play drummer and still playing tenjo jams and oyher music here in DETROIT, MICHGAN GUYS AND I MISS NOT BEENING DOWN THERE. IT;S TO FUCHING HOT BRO. LOL. SO KEEP AND TOUCH GUYS AND VIVA LA RASA. GOD BLESS TOO.
love this and he has evolved, would love to hear his music on the radio but I live somewhere Tejano isn't played just Mexico, and don't get me wrong like that too but not as much as Tejano, hope the great Tejano musicians are listening, or maybe it will encourage the young Chicano's who play to keep it going, ahhooa, hats off to The Lonely Boys, mostly rock which I love, but they keep us in mind
Gary Hobbs music is cooolll you feel me vatooo:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: one time saw the artist in the Rio grande valley vaucuu my brother!! Peace out
I've been a fan of Gary Hobbs since the 90's when I lived in East Dallas and worked in North Oak Cliff. Who remembers KICK-FM 99.1? I saw him play in Dallas too. I'd love to see Gary Hobbs come to Tyler; it's no longer a norteno-only city!
I've been a pretty big fan of Gary Hobbs, and deeply regret missing him last time I was in San Antonio, Texas, as I've never seen him live. I have a huge question though, what type of Tejano music genre is Gary Hobbs? I know there are a few styles of Tejano but what would you call his, like, two-step beat with synths and keyboards? I feel La Mafia, Joe Posada, Charro Band, Groupo Mayo, and a handful of others have this style, but I; nor my uncles, can't tell/find the genre name for the life of me. Would like to finally put this question to bed.
Every time I search for Tejano though, it's way more horn-influenced, and I dig this style for the synth & keyboard sounds. The bands listed in the [original]comment have the same sound. I would just like to know what to look up to further my library of this alternative genre. Would anyone like to point out great compilations or mixes, that have this style, and new artists I can look up? Links would be appreciated.
It’s 80-90’s tejano. The good stuff brotha! Not like all this new stuff that you really can’t dance to. Tejano died when tejano lost Selena. Thanks to Gary Hobbs, David Lee Garza and the rest of the kickAzz San Antonio tejano singers from back in the day. And thanks for keeping it real and helping keep all the memories alive. 😉

just enjoy the music, if it moves you is all that matters
Progressive, possibly. Either way, Gary's music is great, Las Miradas is one of my all time favorite songs.
