Jeff, I have been practicing with your warmups and exercises since June when my choir went on hiatus for the summer. My voice and range have both noticeably improved. I can now reach C6, and have also strengthened in the octave above C4 (and below C4 which was very weak for me before) Thank you for this amazing resource. So helpful. I look forward to recommending your channel to my choir-mates.
Oh Jeff, I love how much of your personality you inject into these videos. :) Thank you for always making me smile. I can't get through the bonus round yet - but there's room to grow.
Another great lesson. I found it really useful. You really show you care - always - and that makes me try even harder as if I am in the room with you and you are my personal coach. Bet that sounds a really crazy comment, but you do have the knack of making me feel as if I am the most important one using your site. And as if that's not enough, I am singing even higher now. The highest soprano notes are second nature to me now. Thank you from my heart Jeff. I so want to spread the good word but don't know how.
@@JeffRolka Promise I will do that whenever I get the chance. I have mentioned your name to a few in the recent past, although one or two already knew you. My next job I think is to join Twitter. Kind regards.
@@JeffRolka Thx for taking this Time! It is not just watching your vidéos. I learn and grow up in my singing with you. But above all that, I drink the energy you share where my soul is thirsty of kindness and love and tenderness. You're a gift to this World. So beautiful you. Thank you.
I just wish that you would go higher. My range goes up to e6. I can sing 3 different octaves as well. I have a broad range for a 19 year old female. My vocal chords are just unbelievable sometimes. I can be placed anywhere except bass. Bass notes are to low for me except for when I am sick but I don't sing when I am sick because that's the time when I recover.
Hello Jeff, if you can do both soprano and mezzo warm up what does it mean ? Am I a low soprano or a high mezzo ? My highest note without problem is A5 but i can do a C6 in a dying dolphin mode ;-)
Good question. There is a lot of overlap in the fachs (vocal range designations). It doesn't really mean much, I'm afraid that you can do both. What is more telling is how your voice respond at particular areas. What is the middle voice registration event like? Where is it? If it's inconsistent, you'll have to align vowels and work on vowel modifications to get consistent performance otherwise the transitions won't ever settle down. What is your experience around the primo passaggio and again, where is it? Asking those questions, and working towards getting consistent results will tell you about your voice. Overall range or notes that one can 'hit' doesn't really tell us much either. Best! Jeff
Jeff Rolka hello ! thank you for your answer :-) all i can say is that i can reach a D3 if i am properly warmed up. After a long search : my confortable area in low voice starts at F#3 (i think it is the primo passagio ? i am not sure because i don’t know well the theory), the start of my middle voice is near E4-F4 and my head voice really starts at D5. But i have a clear, light voice, not dark at all, even if powerful and very easy concerning the middle voice, a little less for low and high voice... So i still don’t know :-)
I don't understand the first exercise, does it start with chest voice then moving to mixed voice? Because at the beginning it is too low for mixed voice but in the end it is too high for chest voice. Help!😣
Thank you Jeff for another amazing video! Really helpful! and always love the bonus rounds! I did the tenor exercises too so I know you weren't lying! Thank you! Loving the new look too by the way!

Thank you so much for your videos! 😍 This really helped me a lot!
I'm so glad!
these are very good and i'm sure you start memorizing them over time, but putting the vowels up during each exercise would be great :)

Jeff as a soprano I have more difficulty singing in the lower range and find I often can go wobbly and out of tune. Is there a video for this?
Indeed! Check this out:

You've basically got it! This video requires fairly good understanding and facility around registration event practice!
Best!
