think about the smokescreen like this: you main deck basically already has the side-deck built into it for the non-bird matchups. Especially in this matchup, pretty much all your stuff hard-counters quickdraw, the side deck is built-in.
Maybe I'm wrong but i think that your 2nd opponent had to crow in the end of the battle phase cause in m2 you have priority to summon kristya before he can actually do anything
Since D.D. Crow is a fast effect (Spell Speed 2 or higher) I think they can Crow before you can attempt a summon as Karpath in this situation is passing his priority to activate a fast effect in Main Phase 2. I also could be wrong. I hate this aspect of Yugioh where reading the card doesn't explain for sure how the game works.
@@UltanOfficial so in a similar way i could compulse a treeborn (assuming the opponent has 2 treeborns in grave) in the main phase before my opponent tribute summons a monarch? It feels wrong tbh, but this game is a mess ahahah I'll ask on discord to be sure
No at the start of each phase, turn player has the priority to perform an action. In like draw phase of course it can only be a ss2 effect, but in main phase can be either a fast effect or a summon/set or the activation of a normal spell/trap. In fact you cannot compulse a treeborn in mp before your opponent has the chance to summon a monarch
I really love this deck, especially the celestia and poa. I never liked alchemist, and soul of purity and light even less. I think i personally would go harder on the LS though and add lyla + recharge. And also i think i'd prefer something else over iron wall, especially if i have lyla to get bth and dprison out of the way - but i realize at that point it's kinda a whole different deck lol. the side sadly doesn't seem too promising now that the cat is out of the back
Not that many decks other then black wings are search reliant. BW also play many outs to it so it would be very rare for you to be in a position where Tk would win you a game you were already losing/ going to win. Tk would cook gadgets but they are not very meta. Thunder kings secondary effect cannot negate summons of monsters through vayu and miracle fusion either.
It's commonly used in sideboards for decks like Dragon Turbo, Zombies, Machina, Hero Beat. But unfortunately it sucks vs Vayu and Frogs and is mid vs BW. Those are the top 3 decks of the format so u won't see TKRO mainboard.

The db algorithm sucks big time. Some days I go 20-0 and others I go 4 and 20. Smh.

The BG player could've actually counter-gambled by booking the Ryko x). If you milled any more Fairy it could've saved him a turn or two lol

Hey Karpath, if Thunder-King-Rai-oh! is legal in Edison, how come many light decks or even other decks are not using it ?
Not that many decks other then black wings are search reliant. @@JohnDoe-km9vx i play 3 in my tengu hero deck. a lot more cards tk hits since pot of duality is more meta. a lot more summons tk can negate too.
Was painful to watch that (I guess typically average) GB player.
