    Yeesss! That sounds just like the original to ear. Additionally the alternate tuning simplifies the picking pattern of the high strings compared to other tutorials I’ve seen. Thanks!!!

    Thank you! I’ve been breaking my fingers on Eadgbe tuning to get the notes out sounding like the album, but this alternate Dadgae tuning makes much more sense and resonates better. It surely sounds right.

    Thank you so much for sharing! I've been strumming the chords when I sing along but I love fingerpicking it as well.

    Thanks, man. I was messing around listening to the recording and noticed the base note goes down on every chord. I was playing around with different tunings and capo spots. Thought maybe there was two guitars in the recording, but it sounded like one guitar player. The recording is unique in its own and doesn’t get played that way often. Commends.

    Thank you so much for your great tutorials… I have a question. Can I use this fingerpicking pattern in any other shape?
    I play it in the key of E , Capo on the fourth fret in the C shape
    I know I can’t use the drop tuning for these cord shapes. Any suggestions?

    Hi can you make a video for the bridge chord of oceans pls

  • @TomekRiv
    @TomekRiv 10 месяцев назад

    In general it is accurate but the original is actually played just by tuning high E into F# (whole tone up) and playing E shape with open B and E

    Question about the later parts of the song in this tuning. Later in the song they do a 1, 5-minor (E minor), then a 4 (D), then a 4-minor (D-minor) which is really pretty. Can those chords be played in this tuning?

    • @danielgeitz7470
      @danielgeitz7470 2 года назад

      Yes you can, simply lift your index when playing the 5-major chord and it becomes minor.
      For the D-minor (relative to the capo) put your middle finger on the 4th fret of the G string and your index on the 3rd Fret of the D string.
      Then just resolve to the 1 chord.

    EDIT: nvm…just broke my high E string (as I was trying to figure out that G#m in my alternate alternate tuning haha)
    Looks like you can use a cut capo and bring the high E up to F# - only change tuning on one string! Am I thinking straight here?
