I appreciate that you do a lot of economy class. A lot of the other trip report channels only do business or first, and then throw economy in there every blue moon when they’re forced to.
Not a slow day in college...a rough day at work. I’m a paper girl and I wasn’t able to deliver four of my newspapers because I had to deal with icy, slippery conditions. Still, I made most deliveries and the paper I do a route for cares more about employee safety than how many newspapers get delivered per shift. Pretty good, but I’m exhausted!
3:14 HOLY SMOKE that looks straight from the year 2030. Great job from Airbus with this plane, it gives the best futuristic vibes. Love the captain too "I would love to come back to Mrs. Brown early". One of your best videos.
For me, night flights are ALWAYS bad luck. I don't know why. Maybe a rundown will give you a hint: 1988 - Singapore Airlines 747 LAX to the old Kai Tak Airport. They served a very late breakfast. Because of the time zone difference, it was still nighttime outside. Airplane hit unbelievable turbulence and I spilled my pancakes and syrup all over my pants. My mother luckily, had a spare pair in her bag for me to change into. 2003 - second night flight of my life. American Airlines 777 from DFW to Zurich-Kloten. Was on this flight as my previous night flight was cancelled (engine problems, for some reason, they just couldn't start the plane. Electrical failure maybe?). On the other hand, it was breathtaking seeing Paris at night during the approach into Zurich. But then, my heart sank seeing the far side of the runway: SwissAir's fleet sadly sitting in the snow, possibly never to be used again. I never got a chance to fly them. 2012 - third and latest night flight. American Airlines 757 from Panama-Tocumen. About the last hour of the flight, most of the plane was asleep. Someone started begging for help. He had a heart attack! Fortunately, there was a doctor and an ER nurse on board. The flight made it to Dallas-Ft. Worth half an hour early. I hope he's doing alright.
Brayden Shanga that was the flight attendant & that is normal operating procedure when the aircraft is being refuelled just in case you need disembark in a hurry.
Totally agree. I flew a few times on this route on BA 380's upper deck. I prefer the tail section of economy. A little cabin with just 8-9 rows, very quiet. I also love the side storage, very useful on those long haul flights.
Well, I got some good news for you, dude. The A380 is making a comeback! Qantas, British, and a few others are getting their A380s back into service. British Airways has started service of theirs already.
This is one of the first arrivals into London Heathrow, usually competes with the Virgin Atlantic service from HKG to be the first arrival of the day. 04:45 scheduled arrival, Virgin is within 10 or so mins. I've done both flights BA28 and BA32 as well as VS207. I also flew the inaugural Air New Zealand B747 in October 2006. Great trip report 👍
I REALLY LOVE these trip reports by YOUR channel. (There's two of you?) No music, no unnecessary voice commentary. No elaborate editing. And of course, you fly economy most of the time. You really feel like a down-to-earth channel. On top of that, when you combine all those characteristics I just mentioned, I really feel as though I am actually ON that flight. Every video! Keep going! Especially as travel restrictions loosen.
G-XLEL! I flew on her 1st class from Miami to London Heathrow as un upgrade from our business class 777 flight which got cancelled. Once in a lifetime experience for me, was only able to do it thanks to the company I work for. Great experience with BA, super friendly staff and I was ecstatic to fly on an A380 for my first time. Thanks for your videos my friend :)
Would definitely love to fly the A380 before it is eventually phased out. It's a shame that the production such a magnificent aircraft it coming to an end.
You win a few (extra storage, good IFE, good dinner) and you lose a few (poor legroom, porridge), but not a bad flight. For me, that legroom would be a killer, but as a seasoned traveller you were able to sleep for 9 hours! Economy passengers can't expect it to be wonderful.
It looks delicious, but due to a psychological effect it tastes bland. The sound of the engines and pressurized cabin both dull your sense of taste. That’s why you can tolerate spicy foods more easily at 35,000 feet than you can on the ground. Oh, and meat served on flights is always cooked rare on the ground so it won’t spoil when it’s reheated in the sky. All food is prepared on the ground in an enormous kitchen near the airport
Massive thanks for this video and sharing that A380 with BA in economy has an upper deck. Just booked my seat in the Upper Deck on this route because of this video. Very excited to fly the A380 but doing it upper deck, now is the icing on the cake. Thanks.
Very much looking forward to my second A380 flight (in 6 years no less), with BA from Chicago to LHR next month. Last time I flew Lufthansa from HKG to Frankfurt on the upper deck. It’s £29 to reserve an upper deck economy seat on my next flight and I can’t quite decide whether to gamble and wait to choose my seat at check-in for free!
Such a pity that BA no longer flies A380 for the LHR-HKG route. I used to fly this route frequently with their A380 (instead of 777), always a comfortable ride and this jumbo jet never ceased to amaze me.
1:11 Your audience are people interested in air travel. If you film the whole departures board for a short few seconds, they can pause and look to see where else you can fly to from HK.
I love British airways! In economy they treat you amazing, in business they treat you like first class, in first class they treat you like you’re in a suite
That Pilot dealt with that delay at the gate well. I've been on a BA flight from Cyprus and I didn't feel the pilot dealt with it as well as this guy👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I went from HKG (Hong Kong as you would probably know) - LHR (London Heathrow) flying with Cathay pacific on a Boeing 777 and it was a pretty good flight. You should check it out
Better to have all passengers on board and then when it’s pushback time you’re not waiting for that one late passenger who makes the aircraft miss its take off slot so then they become late
BA’s food looks horrendous... and the IFE boxes with my height it would be a real problem. Great review. Will check if SIA has IFE boxes on its upper deck economy to be safe
Great video. I'll be flying British Airways to London out of Vancouver in a couple of weeks. Also top deck, row 76, just on the starboard side of the plane. :)

BA as usual is one of the worst economy classes (well, i haven't tried the other on long haul but i heard they are bad too). Such a nice product from outside but when you go in it's really poor. Good report. BA offer as good as most for Y travel. Good seat, IFE, service, food. Upper deck A380 always a bonus. 9 hours sleep is really quite impressive !!
5:40 I wonder why they don't put the IFE box on the left of the seat! there is plenty of room there and legroom wouldn't be so crappy! you can barely squeeze you two feet there!

British Airways are good when it comes to food. The take off meal and then the breakfast seemed quite delicious . The aircraft itself was well kept , lighting was not too bright and the walkway was clean. Thanks for the review. Giving 9/10. Just a request if you could please give separate verdicts at the end like punctuality, food, cabin crew service, in flight entertainment etc.. Otherwise a well done video
BA just last week opened A380 service to my home city Dallas/Ft Worth in the US. The A380 landed here last Friday! HK demographics have changed in recent years. Cantonese are all gone migrating to Singapore or Taiwan so it's the Chinese Mainlanders who is now the majority of HK resident
The minute the plane takeoffs, I just sleep off (I have a good friend who was apparently stuck on INDIGO with the bad legroom for 12hrs!!!). I that way I find it a lot easier to pass time on flights like these.
