About the Festival
Established in 1987, Melbourne International Comedy Festival (#MICF) is one of the three largest comedy festivals in the world, alongside Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Montreal's Just for Laughs Festival.
Over the last week of March and into April every year, #MICF transforms Melbourne into the comedy capital of the world, as local and international comedians take to theatres, pubs, clubs and broom cupboards citywide - shining a spotlight on the silly, the serious, the heart-breaking and the hilarious.

I'm beginning to notice a correlation between female comedians and a lack of comedy.
fair enough, don't agree but hey, don't worry about it, comedy isn't for everyone. Maybe stick to music or colouring in.

I notice a correlation between Australians and an absence of edgy Emmy award winning comedy.
@@langdonulgar2185 Anne Edmonds, Felicity Ward, Brendon Burns, Jim Jeffries, Adam Hills, Sam Campbell, Blake Freeman, Sam Simmons, Demi Lardner, Luke Heggie, Randy Feltfact, Aunty Donna to name just a few. Each person will have a different taste in what they find funny but Australia has loads of great comedians. Plenty that won't get on the galas but are great.
