This kid is such a smooth player. I watched some of his Blond videos. Great overall musician. I love the Talman designs. This one is in stealth mode. 😎
I always thought the Talman basses were cool, but I wasn't fond of the vintage look. A solid black Talman is exactly what I was looking for. EDIT: Also Johann's finger technique on the first sample is killer.
I played Talman one day is local store and it's just crazy: very hout output with active preamp, comportable neck and classic, but spicy pickups. Amazing insrument imo, probably this one will be cool as well.
Best clean melodic bass lines since Peter Hook, by Johann. He has quite an expressive style. The bass is fine; no nonsense, versatile workhorse. Good value again from Ibanez
Watching it while playing an 1987 Ibanez Roadbass 808 (with a reversed P pick-up in the PJ configuration) I wonder why Ibanez switched back to the traditional P placement.
@ there has been a couple but very few and far between. There is a beginner GIO SR that uses that configuration for traditional pickup housings. There was an SR 650/655 that used the reverse P configuration but utilized Nordstrom (built in Asian market) pickups. The routing for the pickups are much larger and more squared to fit the design of the pickups
I had a late 90s - early 2000s Ibanez SR300DX MIK and it had a PJ pickup configuration but the P pickup was reversed (like a Spector) and I loved the sound, makes me wonder why Ibanez never kept that config, it was basically a cheaper Spector bass
Let me know if the link doesn't take you to the tab I will try and fix it. If you are using RUclips on a computer I believe it will work, not sure about a phone
One day i might get a ibanez i don’t have one in my collection i think a peavy or two are on my list of must haves as well and may be in the way of my ibenez acquisition
Talmans are great basses that seem to be overlooked by a lot of people. I have two of them, both upgraded with Hipshot A style bridge. ('16 TMB600 and a '24 TMB40OTA)
It may not be flashy like ibanez's other ranges, but this is actually a pretty good sounding bass that was always held back by the awful "kiddie" finish colors. I have seen some pros playing it, and Its comparable to a mid-level yamaha bb bass, so it's about time they give it a paint job for adults.
The guy(s) responsible for R&D basses department should be FIRED… The Talman series deserve such a better treatment than this basic satin black thing, come on ! Why not going for silver sparkle (or white pearl) body with a matched color headstock instead ? It would have, at least, made the black hardware more contrasty, no ? And please, make it passive instead of using that poor preamp… And a fretless version too so fretless lovers may enjoy that ebonol fretboard !!! Jeeezzz, people working there have zero inspiration 🙄

johann is a natural born star. Thanks Gregor for introducing him to us. Lots of love from Turkey.
Johann’s sense of time is amazing. Dude is rock solid.
That first bassline is FIRE 👏
I wish they would make a medium scale Talman. Would be an insta-buy!
I agree. Medium-scale would be killer.
Yeah I've got a 32 inch Ibanez SRMD-205 and it's such a good balance of tone and playing comfort.
There is a 30 inch and 34 inch scale. But you need a 32..?
@@ArjanYoyoman It makes a difference.
@ Need? Nah. But I do find that 32” is a better scale for me than 30” or 34”.
I have the cosmic blue talman and I love it! The neck is super fast and for its relative simplicity it manages to sound nice and full-bodied.
I need this in a 5. 20 frets is kind of a dealbreaker though.. that 21st fret makes a big difference in the dusty end.
Johann spielt mit SO VIEL GEFÜHL & VIBE! Danke, Johann!!! 😇

For me, the best item in all 2025 Ibanez catalog, such a cool bass!
You need to Try an early 2000’s or earlier Ibanez ATK. My favorite basses
I used to own an old ATK. Great bass! Johann has one, too

Adding this to my favorites so i can come back to :05 and vibe out.
Great Johann! Amazing bass tone.
Would love to hear your thoughts on the new fender Meteora.

It's literally a Starfield Cabriolet CB400 bass - the model with a PJ config instead of lipsticks. Nice. About time.
I love the tmb basses. My 310 is such a joy to play
Actually *love* that all black. Not badly priced either, very tempted 😅
I'm so buying this one!!! 🖤
Thank you for the best reviews on the Internet, as always.
Wardrobe match game on point, Gregor.
What’s the first song?
Looks super cool. Just wished it was passive but usable.
Ibanez, Nice! Thanks for sharing. 🎼
Would like it better if they reversed the P pickup.
😂

WOW NICE BASS
HAPPY NEW YEAR
Schnelle Brille ❤🎉
Der Bass klingt großartig
Solid sound!!
guitar sounds awesome!

Johann is a bass superstar
Hello, the Body reminds me a lot of the Fender`s Jaguar Bass . . .
The more I look at it, the more I like it. Its going on my list 🤘
Tab or song's name of the intro song ? Please
Let me know if the link doesn't take you to the tab I will try and fix it. If you are using RUclips on a computer I believe it will work, not sure about a phone
Sorry I think they took the link down
Very nice playing! Can you review something from the new Ibanez Soundgear Prestige Lineup pretty please?
yes, we'll review a whole bunch of new Soundgears. We've already recorded the first ones earlier this week
@ I ordered an SR5505. Sure my girlfriend will understand why this is more urgent than a new car.
One day i might get a ibanez i don’t have one in my collection i think a peavy or two are on my list of must haves as well and may be in the way of my ibenez acquisition
The first line was great
What was the first song he was playing because it sounds super good
Johann wrote this for our video
I came here to ask the same thing. That baseline is gonna live rent free in my head for years!
Salut to Johann!
And that's what you call a submarine!

lets make a new pj bass! just spray paint the old pj satin black! brilliant!!
And the weight? The slap sound?
OH MY GOD I LOVE THE TALMAN BASS. THIS IS DEFINITELY SEXY
Cooool 😎
I'm curious,is he blind?
yes
@basstheworldofficial oh
@@basstheworldofficial god dayum, extremely impressive player!
Kinda boring. It's just a TMB100 in a different color scheme right?
Mostly. Roasted maple neck, okume body, ebonol board set it apart. I like it a lot, visually.
I think it’s a 400
Boring is bad ass!
It's the kind of boring that I am very into. I don't want it in a hot pink flame maple.
It may not be flashy like ibanez's other ranges, but this is actually a pretty good sounding bass that was always held back by the awful "kiddie" finish colors. is that oliver tree?
those headstocks are hideous lol
Kinda boring bass but great demo
