Is being saved a matter of trying really hard to believe or is it about just accepting the facts about Jesus death, burial, and resurrection to be saved if that makes sense? What does it mean to trust in the Jesus of the Bible because I have heard people say that does that mean to believe that he is the savior and the son of god?

It is believing that Jesus is who he says he is (that entails that He is the Son of God and the Christ), and it’s believing He died for our sin (Savior by doing so). The first is really something that is generally a “given” for us. Most understand what “Jesus” we are referring to. Nonetheless, not all believe He IS the Son of God. This must be believed alongside the fact that this Jesus is the one who died for sin, was buried and is risen! You receive salvation the literal moment you understand and belief these truths for yourself.

Isn’t all sin wilful as it is of the flesh? If a believer sins knowing what it is they should do/ should not be doing then surely that is wilful sin? We have to be careful not to slip into the whole “that wasn’t me it was my flesh” stupidity.
Yes there is an old and new man but for as long as we are on this side of eternity both the new man and the old man are us! sin is inexcusable especially for a believer, but thank God for grace.
Some sin is from ignorance yes, but much is done in full knowledge of the wrong doing.
