Hi, from Japan. I never buy from Samsung, Google, or Apple SIM free version because carrier have great customer service. For me it's so easy if something happens with the device I just call the carrier and they send me a refresh version with the new battery in it the next day. I just sent back the broken one. So fast and easy.

Josh, that really sucked! You know I live about 12 miles from the Glendale, CA. Store. I had a screen issue with my Fold 3 a few years ago. I walked in to that store and kicked around an executive's name and handed the sales guy his card to take upstairs to the repair tech. He came back down, handed me the card back and said it will be repaired in a couple of hours. So I went next door to the Cheesecake Factory for a couple of beers and some football and went back and they said it was done and ready. They replaced the whole screen, No Charge whatsoever!😅😅 I think you remember I was the first one in the new store reopening and talked to some executive's, I got their cards. Came in handy! 😜

THIS IS ACTUALLY INSANE! 😮 My wife had some dead pixels happen along the edge of her inner screen of her Z Flip 5 and I seriously considered trying to just do the screen repair for the $29 deductible because there was not any damage otherwise (like the dent in the screen in your experience). I decided to just claim the device as damaged altogether and pay the $99 deductible because I believe I was afraid of having to go through this kind of struggle just to pay the $29 over the $99 deductible. Plus, this gave her a fresh new battery and everything after owning and using her current phone for about 12 months, so I guess that was part of my mindset. But yeah, the only other time I have had to file a claim is when I dropped my Note 20 Ultra on a cup coaster and it did the same exact damage to the edge of the screen as with her Z Flip 5 funny enough. Just a small black arch of dead pixels along the edge of the display. I've seen this on other devices as well I believe, so it seems it is a common thing just like the pink lines of dead pixels going through older Samsung phone displays.
What was cool however was that when I filed my claim for my Note 20 Ultra they must not have had any refurbished phones in stock at the time so I received a brand new Note 20 Ultra as a replacement in the retail packaging and everything. Another cool story is my wife's previous phone before her Z Flip 5 was a S20+ and we also had to do a claim for that phone at one point for it to be replaced and they were all out of S20+ units, so they told me on the phone as I was talking to them that she would be receiving a S21+ instead. The insurance claim upgrade stories are always a plus! But yeah, I didn't used to get Samsung Care+ on my previous Samsung devices because I didn't feel I needed it, but it's definitely a MUST now with my Z Fold 5 and my wife's Z Flip 5 with the folding screen and hinge.

As a fellow tech that works for an authorized samsung repair center. The diagnostic program for out going quality control is a joke they don't provide us with the right tools and contacting Samsung even from a tech side is a pain they don't give us any better treatment and as soon as they can pass the buck off to the next company or business they can and will. The lack of communication is astounding and frustrating for all parties and the reason they couldn't take the video is cause it's in the policy handbook nor can we remove apps or help with data management sorry to all the elderly customers out there. Also in policy to make sure the phone is clean and fully charged if it's an in-house repair.

I owned a Fold every year, and I never had a case on any of them. The only time mine broke was because mine dropped out of a moving truck. Currently own a Z Fold6 and dropped it waste high on to the tile recently with only a small dent on the corner.
Customer Service could be better. Very inconsistent. When I broke my screen on my Fold4, all I had to do was wait for the part order and leave it for 2 hours. It was fixed, and I was on my way. Others aren't so lucky, I guess.

In my country malaysia, my Flip4 screen was broken brought in to service center, they took a look at it and said sorry, it couldn't be claimed under warranty, as there was a tiny dent on the hinge, and I need to pay some USD330 to replacement, so I decided to try another service center but the answer was the same.. So I decided to save up for 2 mths for the repair. Fast forward to when I decided to repair it... I went to a third service center to get it repaired, to my surprise, they told me it could be claimed under warranty, and the whole process took around 2 working days. So my logical conclusion was, it depends on the service center staff on whether they want to assist you on claiming the warranty.

I live in the UK and also received terrible customer service from Samsung. I purchased a top of the range TV from Samsung last year. It was a good deal. £600.00 part exchange for my knackered Sony TV, £400 cashback and a free Freestyle Smart portable projector worth £500.00. The part exchange and free projector were honoured without any problem but trying to get the £400.00 cashback took around 4 months and over 100 phone calls with their various worldwide Customer Service Centres. And probably around 100 e-mails as well. To cut a long story short it only got resolved when after an incredible amount of digging I managed to obtain the direct e-mail address of the Samsung UK Marketing Director. Suffice to say I got a very prompt response from the Director herself and my £400.00 cashback was processed that day. It was a nightmare experience and the time I spent on getting this resolved I will never get back. Without doubt the worst customer service I have ever experienced by a very long way.

It seems that these 3rd party support divisions have absolutely no dialog with each other, requiring the same information across divisions. I tried reasoning with them on the phone for weeks but in the end gave up after they wanted £550 to repair it despite that being higher than the trade in for it ??😂. So I told them to stick the phone up where the sun don't shine and moved to OnePlus open and haven't looked back since. A MUCH BETTER device than that heap of shit they sold me. One thing about apple that gives them a leg up is there stores here in America..... Of course you're going to face issues with a phone like that with other companies..... They just dont have those places to go to like others....

I rely think you deserve some Samsung vouchers for all the hassle. I am worriwd about the Honors customer service as thinking about the V3 but surely it can not be as bad as that.

Good experience with my fold 3 and fold 4, both having the flooding screen protector separate at the creese and pull on the display after a year. The care plus team defiantly needs help but the ubreak i fix people where great. Actually going to the oneplus open now as I hate the fold 6 cameras are basically the same as the 4, plus there customer service is better in my experience.

I walked in on the second day to have my front screen repaired for free. You should try your luck with the front desk staff on different days, as not all of them know what they are doing. It's even worse for the Care Plus team, which I think is run by some insurance company with trainee phone receptionists overseas. They may not even have this model in their system if it was purchased pre-release. It sounds like in your case, the Care Plus team member was just repeating the only thing they knew how to respond to this situation from their limited training.
But yeah, imagine you brought those gray imported foldables that don't even have a repair center. You would have been flying internationally and making overseas calls as busy as Elon Musk in the past few weeks.😅

my mom has gotten a very good experience with AT&T phone insurance. she paid $30 and half an hour later she came back with a brand new screen and battery (unexpected bonus which was free and wasn't technically covered)
    I don't like AT&T but that's next level service.
just don't break the back glass because that's $150 and you get a referb phone that might not be the same color, although they sent someone to the house to help her set it up.
I would still say if you have a folding phone it might be worth the extra $18 a month for the peace of mind

i think the idea you should be using here is always ask to route your call to a supervisor or manager. stupid CS agents will always tell you millions of excuses as long as they could. so, always ask for the manager and take note of the name of that person so you can always speak with the same person. sometimes you really have play the villain and to even use the FUDGE word in dealing with them but still just say sorry later because you are just angry with the situation and not the person you are talking to and that often works and then you will get the best assistance ever because there is no way to transfer you to different CS rep to explain your story all over again as that rep/even he/she is not the sup/mngr already knows your issue and concern. Hahaha!!!

Yea that got dragged out. wild stuff.
My almost nightmare experience with a in-store pickup at a SAMSUNG EXPERIENCE store. I will try and keep it short. I ordered 2 phones for pick up. I go pick up one phone and tell them to cancel the other phone. easy as that right? nope. Me and my gf go have lunch around the area after we got the phone and about an hour after i get a text saying my other order was picked up(the one that was supposed to be cancelled.)luckily we were down the street. so i had to go back and be like wtf is going on? person try to tell me some shit that made absolutely no sense. and the people that helped be the first time did not approach me or make eye contact with me. so yea f them. so my guess is they waited an hour hoping i was gone already to try and literally steal my order. imagine if i went home already? its about a 30 min drive from my house. drive back and forth. later that day i called the store spoke with the manager and explained what happened to find who was responsible for that. this instance came down to the individual or individuals and their shit morals not samsung. but they are representing samsung. i hope they got fired.
