*Fun fact:* Michigan's 3-game win streak comes off the end of Ohio State's 8-game win streak, their longest in the series (Michigan has a 9-game from 1901-1909).
*Fun fact:* Michigan and OSU didn't play each other from 1913-1917 (WW1 time frame) but did play during WW2.

Only way Day survives a loss to michigan is if they meet in the playoffs and win. Otherwise, he's done. Not just because it's 4 straight, but because expectations are sky high (unrealistically so). And the sentiment from ohio fans is Natty or major disappointment. To their fans, if u don't win the NC, its a bad season. Add a loss to michigan into that equation and he can't survive.

While expectations for OSU are typically high, they're not as often "they should win it all this year". This year, with that talent, with Michigan taking a step back, and with a cupcake schedule the expectation this year is a title. That said, if they lose to Michigan and fail to make the playoffs, Day is toast. If they lose to Michigan but beat them in the playoffs or the BCG then the counter is reset and everything's rosy in Columbus. Even the opposite is true. Where it gets interesting is they lose to Michigan but then win the title without playing them again, which is possible. Common sense is the counter is reset and he's considered even ground with Urban who in all his years with OSU only delivered one title.
As noted in the video, rivalries, especially arch-rivalries like this where the entire year focuses on the one team, erode common sense into fanatical insanity

What if orji/tuttle is better than howard?
Not sure why its almost universally assumed howard is so much of an upgrade over mccord when the stats don't show it. Sure, mccord had better weapons, but howard played B12 defenses not B10. There's a reason he was going to lose the starting job at k state. There's also a reason michigan didn't even pursue a QB in the portal.
Ohio's offense goes through their passing game. Even with good RBs, behind their shaky oline it will have to again this year and they lost harrison to bail them out. Michigan's offense does not. They just need solid QB play. A guy that can manage games, convert on 3rd downs, and extend plays with his legs.
I have a gut feeling ohio fans are going to be missing mccord and/or calling for one of their freshman QBs before the end of the season.

If OSU loses to UM for a fourth straight time, in the 'Shoe no less, there will be no illogical conversation about an illogical situation. He will be relieved - possibly before the playoff even begins. Strangely... if the Buckeyes somehow falter this year and miss the playoff, but beat UM to end the season - I believe he would remain. To anyone besides an OSU fan, that would be an illogical conversation about an illogical situation, but on a national level only.

Obviously, that win woukd be all but erased in people's minds with a loss to michigan, but I get the feeling Oregon might be a bit overrated. Coming to the B10 and facing good defenses most weeks is going to be a big change from what they're used to and I expect some growing pains.

Michigan is a QB away from being a great possibly elite team. And nobody even knows who's starting or what to expect from them.
But the fact they didn't even pursue one in the portal tells me they're confident in who they have.
With good QB and Oline play, they could go 12-0 for a 3rd straight year. To say 3 or 4 losses at this point is nothing more than letting your ohio homerism show.
I'd love to see your bet slip saying u took the under at 8.5 wins

There is no hole where OSU's heart and soul was. It has filled in and they no longer have either a heart or a soul. Listen to the coaches and players interview-they have lost all perspective and meaning of the larger purposes of athletic competition. They have caved to the hate of their pathological fan base. These gifted players had better learn to play for themselves and each other-and for the joy of athletic competition.
