Piemontesi's has more raw power and holds the essential musical vibe more strongly, Trifonov (who is a great pianist), gets lost in detail and idiosyncrasies .. Truly, Piemontesi's rendering is one of those rare moments of transcending the medium and riding a wave of high inspiration. It's a pinnacle performance, not just of this piece but in piano performance in general.

Heard him play this as one of his encores yesterday at the Kennedy Center.
    Extraordinary young pianist indeed.

A young artist of our time. An orchestra in two hands.

Much more ryhmically sensible than piemontese, less reliant on the raw feel of the work, more efforts are taken to bring Stravinsky's sense of rhythm and musical loguing. Though less grand and a little more idiosyncratic in ways it's ultimately pretty kickass and provides a lot of insight in the interpretation

Piemontesi's has a more raw power and holds the essential musical vibe more strongly, Trifonov (who is a great pianist as well), gets lost in detail and idiosyncrasies .. Truly, Piemontesi's rendering is one of those rare moments of transcending the medium and delivering of wave of inspiration from beyond, and holding it together.
