❤ your old videos 🎥 so COOL l miss that era but the 70s and 80s Rock on hard thanks for loaning thanks a lot for loading up the oldies once again. Peace 👀
The algorithm dropped part 1 of this series into my feed today so I watched all three. What a fun trip down memory lane with Stella and Dean with (some) hair.
For being one of the skungiest things you ever drug home this actually turned out to be one of your finest in the "will it run" series. Well done! keep em coming.
Well, thank you for saying so. Hanging out with your friends is what it should be about, not panicking about perfection or profit margins. Guess that's why I'll never be on TV! Haha.
Scott another cool unique unknown classic saved from the crusher, though I do disagree with you guys on the rating at beginning, this was about a 3 or maybe a 4 with back seat intact, maybe a little better than the biscayne, at the very least both totally awesome tidying jobs and love the backdoor meeting on the body and around the tailigihts, both cars that I would love to own, in myopinion I think the are the vids I like the best, showing your craftsmaship and ingenuity in saving these old beaters and making em daily drivers, Please make some more fun vids like this.
From a distance that thing looks really good. Amazing what can be done with a junk yard car on a zero budget. Even for someone who doesn't have a bunch of spare parts on hand, a project like that would only cost a few hundred bucks. Blankets on the seats and a proper exhaust and you could take your favorite girl out on a date.
Great job saving this one. It deserves to as Neil sings, long may you run. Just do not let any rats bite you in the ass that may be hiding in those seats. Two thumbs up guys!
I remember as a kid, my friend's dad bought this model brand new and gave us a ride in it, now watch your videos, bringing this car back to life sure brings back memories. You now got me binge watching your videos, they're awesome, thanks again. :-)
Fantastic job and car, I love your "Will it Run" series and always look forward to more. The car looks great now, that paint job and bit of bodywork really made it nice, crazy to see the difference from start to finish.
Even for styling different than my favorite years of chevys I love the Delray rear end, this car went from trash to beautiful, if the undercarriage is good underneath and with an exhaust his could be put on the road and would turn heads. You've got a great car show right here in your own back yard. Thanx again Scott for saving and sharing these fantastic cars and making it look simple.
That was incredible! Very nice! Spend $50 on a muffler and some exhaust-pipe, weld it up, and you'd have something that would actually pass inspection and be able to be licensed! Really, really amazing work on this one. Very impressive!
I am a recent convert to Cold War Motors, and I have watched all the latest stuff, now starting back at the beginning. I too have practically abandoned my Amazon and Netflix accounts for these videos!!!
Jesus!! What a transformation a coat of paint can make. Looking good sir! Yeah, I know theres chicken blob bondo in there, but still....wayyyy better than part one.
this is awesome. i just fucking love the fact that somebody is saving all of these old cars. I would like to come across either a 53 or a 64 Ford that wouldn't be in too bad a shape so that I could have something that I had a long time ago.I have had at least 35-30 different cars and about as many old trucks in my life. I don't have anything any more but I just gotta get me something before I get too old to fuck with it. My hat is off to you though.
Great to see the old girl all tarted up, really looks a treat on a close to zero budget. Ideal starter car for some kid to take home and improve while learning all about what these old gems were all about. Style and Reliability. Doesn't have ANY computerised crap on board. Something the average person with a little bit of knowledge could keep ticking over for years with a little bit of regular maintenance.
I love your channel guys. It's a runner. There are so many videos of guys wandering around the bone yards saying "someone needs to save this car!", but you guys deliver, every episode.
Ron Lussier Hey, thanks for saying so! Glad you liked it. We have a lot of fun doing these, and I enjoy keeping these classics out of the crusher, even if they're not exactly roadworthy. Several more episodes on the way; hope you like 'em!
When I tell someone about Coldwarmotors, this short three part video series is usually what I tell them to watch. Scott starts out with a real mess of a throw-away car and turns it into something very presentable in four or five days with a budget of almost nothing. This video really hooks them, but good! :-) Regards, Tom
Another great episode and cool to see the finished project after seeing the work-in-progress. Good thing you use your powers for good vs. evil or you'd have the sketchiest used car lot in the world.
Hey, thanks! You called it when you mentioned the sketchy used-car lot! Thats exactly what we were talking about as we patched the rust holes up and painted it outside in the yard. This is roughly how the low-end car lots would have prettied these things up a bit back in the days before the BBB and mandatory inspections, haha! We had some laughs imagining ourselves as the proprietors of some kind of sleazy mud-lot full of 10-year-old "cream puffs". I've already started on the next gem; stop in as soon as you get a chance, 9088!
Outstanding! I've always loved that color combination. Pretty cool, resurrecting a clunker, and giving it a bit more life. In the past, some friends and I have done this with a few old motorcycles, dirt bikes mostly, to allow kids today a chance to experience what we rode when we were their age, before long travel suspensions and water cooled engines. It's fun to see a 12yo kid get on an old XR-75, then see the look on their face when they come back. It's like they didn't know what hit them. I won't discuss the Maico 400... Cheers to you, the crew and 'Stell for keeping things alive!
When I first saw this video, it was around the time Discovery Channel debuted a show called 'Cuban Chrome'. Some of the guys on that show were fixing up a 58 Chev sedan. You're like brothers from different mothers!
I loved the 59. I bought a 61 scayne back in 73 for 100 bucks. It had a 327 in it. Drove her for 4 years (drunk every night) sold her for 400 and bought a 70 C-10 pick up.
Excellent video Cold Water Motors Agents Scott :) yes 1958 Chevrolet Delray are amazing cars in day and remember restored one but surprises me 235 6cylinder also carb and transmission was rebuilt plus brand new clutch in only change was paint plus axle to 1978 Posi type 377 all was 50% original owner and 125.000 miles on it ! Have last heard car in Canada somewhere went British Columbia area! See you soon on Saturday night show down!
I just love watching this Re in car nation! in fact I now love old 4 cars! Many a doobie has been partaken of in watching this and many of your other fine videos! But this video is by farr my favorite! So keep them wrenches flying ! and those old vessels sailing!
Mr1979capri Hey, thanks! Glad you like this kind of thing. I'd still be doing this for fun even if nobody watched, but it is gratifying to hear that other folks are burning a doobie and diggin' it. Cheers from us here at CWMC.
One more question.. Never seen anything so far about brakes.. ( i know you guys don't bother with the fuel tank ).. But.. do you work on the breaks and not show it?? or .. Just use the E brake and Hang on.. Your body work and paint matching?? Off the chart .. Especially in those conditions.
+RexCars1 Hi! Thanks for the note. For the cars that are only getting driven in the yard, I don't bother doing the brakes. If they're going to get plated, of course everything gets gone through. Cheers from me and Stella!
Wow same color as my '58 BelAir I had back in 1977. Had some fun times in that car. The 235 six cylinder is bulletproof (especially after they went to full pressure oiling in 1953 on cars with Powerglide transmissions) Nice success story here.
I just love your vids!!! I need friends like you guys!!! I would drive any of these cars everyday. I can't believe how good they come out on your string budget!!
My late Father owned one of these around 1964 or 65. It was a chalky blue or grey color. I remember going on family picnics and outings in it. Dad "traded" it in on a 1960 Rambler, about the time I started school in 65, because the floor pans, etc were gone...typical East Coast Canada car rot. Thanks for awakening some good old memories.
The '58 Chevy is one of the most awesome cars of its day - beautiful design - and the suspension - engine/transmission upgrades made it really modern - even the Delray looked beautiful - i wonder what 2019 car will survive - 61 years from now???
coldwarmotors That fits. '66 - '68 was the time frame I was speaking of. My ride was $300, '56 Chevy Belair, no post 4 door, with a unknown brand 3 speed floor shifter, 265 ci V-8 that I swapped a manifold off my friends '58 to get 2 barrel carb. It was pure white except for the black spot on the hood that appeared not long after the carb swap from running to air cleaner... Learn a lot on that car.
My dad was real car guy and he always swore by Chevrolet products of this era. He always said they started best in the winter, and from what I have seen here, he was right!
Just saw your old 58 on Kijiji. Missing the drivetrain and interior. The old white lightning seems to be holding up though haha. Hopefully someone with deeper pockets than I will step up and save it, this is still one of my favorite will it run cars!
❤ your old videos 🎥 so COOL l miss that era but the 70s and 80s Rock on hard thanks for loaning thanks a lot for loading up the oldies once again. Peace 👀

Great outcome !! I only have one suggestion: "Don't ever get married" !!
The sound it makes!! Music to my ears! Love it so much! Great job guys!
just about the best looking Chevy ever .. I truly wish I had one of these.
Glad you guys saved Her from the crusher.
Joe I totally agree, the styling of the very late 50's and early 60's like this and the Biscaye, have always been my faves
Holy crap what a BIG difference....nice job guys!
Love to watch Coldwar Motors. Its good to see so many cool old cars saved from the crusher. Nice job you folks. :)
Si Carter Hey, thanks for the kind words. Glad other people think these old cars are worth saving!
You guys are an absolute treat to watch!
Having fun watching the old shows.
I absolutely love that color combination on that car. An amazing success story for Cold War Motors, eh!
Great to see you guys back in the day....5% of the work as a restored car for 90% of the fun....
Good job on this one.....right from the drivers door fix to the radio tuning........hats off to you!
well done lads another beauty saved from the crusher.
For being one of the skungiest things you ever drug home this actually turned out to be one of your finest in the "will it run" series.
Well done! keep em coming.
Hey, thanks a lot, and thanks for watching this stuff! I think you'll like the next car too... even nastier than this one, haha! "Coming soon"...
This kind of content is pretty much the best that internet can offer.
A 58. The only Chevy I've ever really liked. Nice job!!!
Always looking forward to another peaceful, satisfying CWM project. Like visiting a better world.
Well, thank you for saying so. Hanging out with your friends is what it should be about, not panicking about perfection or profit margins. Guess that's why I'll never be on TV! Haha.

That Is So Cool, I'd Totally Use It As A Daily Driver
It looks REALLY HAPPY to be going down the road again. Thanks for saving it. Can't believe how good it looks. AND THE DANG RADIO WORKS!!!
All the cars on the lot ideally should get this kind of sprucing up, especially the Straight 8 Challenge cars!
From a distance that thing looks really good. Amazing what can be done with a junk yard car on a zero budget. Even for someone who doesn't have a bunch of spare parts on hand, a project like that would only cost a few hundred bucks. I agree. What lady wants to go home smelling like a 59 year old chevy?
I LOVE IT............ Brother, i would drive it everyday,,,,, Proud!!!
Great job saving this one. It deserves to as Neil sings, long may you run. Just do not let any rats bite you in the ass that may be hiding in those seats. Two thumbs up guys!

Three thumbs up! ...Dean just the best friend you could ever have..
Lucky
Fantastic job and car, I love your "Will it Run" series and always look forward to more. The car looks great now, that paint job and bit of bodywork really made it nice, crazy to see the difference from start to finish.
Bisquit's and Gravy........ Thanks for showing!!!
I ve always been a 60's early 70s muscle car guy, but you've given me a new appreciation for these classics you love so much, thanks
Hey, thanks for the note, and for checking out the channel...
Feel THE POWER of that mighty six, torque it baby... Great looker for a few days of work
Damn, nice job. You guys totally transformed the exterior.
I really liked this one! I would totally use that car as a weekend cruiser!
Love your vids, just like you guys I love making old engines run.
+Steve W Hey, thanks for checking them out! Cheers!

Way too nice a car to scrap. Glad you saved it. Amazing how this car, despite being the base series in 58 as WAY fancier than any of today's cars.
That Delray looks way better than in the first episode. If i didn't watch the other two videos, I wouldn't believe it was the same car. Two thumbs up!
It's daily driver worthy now, AND the radio works. (Works better than my '82 Ford). Man, how I would love to have that car.
Liked that video a lot , sweet car.
That was amazing. I like that you retained a bit of surface rust on the top, it fits.
That was incredible! Very nice!
Spend $50 on a muffler and some exhaust-pipe, weld it up, and you'd have something that would actually pass inspection and be able to be licensed!
Really, really amazing work on this one. Very impressive!
LMacNeill Hey, glad you liked it! More on the way soon!
. I love those slotted fenders, That paint color is so right....Thanks Scott! Good seeing Dean this time.
It's Videos like these that really warm my heart, I have become a YOU-TUBE addict, and no longer watch what was known as TV.
I am a recent convert to Cold War Motors, and I have watched all the latest stuff, now starting back at the beginning. I too have practically abandoned my Amazon and Netflix accounts for these videos!!!
saved from the crusher 101 ! you just taught us not to throw away old cars , now i have to try one !
Just fantastic!!
Fantastic job on this one, love it!
Chevy Delray 1958 sounds pretty good and looks awesome THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO
Thanks for saving the old girl! I've always been an old car nut too.
Great job, keeping it fun
Thanks, glad you liked it!
coldwarmotors amazing videos ..r u guys selling some projects
I’m enjoying revisiting these old “Will it run” with added “sketchy dust in” episodes
I love ur videos,i watch them over and over again, much props from texas!!!

Jesus!! What a transformation a coat of paint can make. Looking good sir! Yeah, I know theres chicken blob bondo in there, but still....wayyyy better than part one.

You guys really pulled a miracle on this one! Itd fit right in down here in San Diego! Keep saving em!
Very classy work mate! Absolutely love that you left the roof patina!
I freaking love you guys!
Heading back 7 years and finding gems! I like this old Delray, the poor man’s Biscayne… hahaha 😝
Great to see the old girl all tarted up, really looks a treat on a close to zero budget. Wow, love this one! Great car and looks pretty solid! :P
Really dig the 58 chevy, my dad's first car was a 58 Belair 2 door. 283 3 speed.
Love your videos. These are the car I drove when I was a kid. Cheap fun with old cars. How great is that!
+Pwl47 Hey, thanks; glad you liked it! Cheers from me and Stel.
Excellent video series, really enjoy your channel.

Love the videos.good job getting that car to run.looks nice
julio sandoval Hey, thanks, and thanks for watching them!
yea, that car ran good enough to where it was worth making it driveable....great job!

getting caught up here. wish you could do all your cars with paint. love the show and the comeraderie of friends hanging and helping.
I like what u did to the delray Shes nice dude! I would like that in my yard
Nice old Chevy, surprised it started so easy after just a carb cleaning, that's quality !
Beautiful .. job well done , and hey Stella xxxx
Thanks! Hi from my best girl Stel, of course!
The '58 Chevy is one of the most awesome cars of its day - beautiful design - and the suspension - engine/transmission upgrades made it really modern - even the Delray looked beautiful - i wonder what 2019 car will survive - 61 years from now???
Runs and looks better than some of the '58s that were in my high school parking lot back in the day! Nice work. It even sounds better!
Hey, you nailed it exactly! It was supposed to look like some kid's old high-school ride from the late 60's- early 70's.
coldwarmotors
That fits. '66 - '68 was the time frame I was speaking of. Enjoyed all 3 videos
Impressive work, especially on the driver's door!
+Jeffry Blackmon Hey, thanks, and thanks for checking it out!
Love the will it run vids. I'd run that for a commuter! Cheap to buy and cheap on parts! Good on ya! Cheers from Auburn,CA
Hey, thanks for watching; glad you like 'em! Cheers from Canada.
That came out much better than I expected...! I do hope you tell the next owner about the body-filler.
4 Days, good job 👍🏼
My dad was real car guy and he always swore by Chevrolet products of this era. He always said they started best in the winter, and from what I have seen here, he was right!
Just saw your old 58 on Kijiji. Missing the drivetrain and interior. The old white lightning seems to be holding up though haha. Hopefully someone with deeper pockets than I will step up and save it, this is still one of my favorite will it run cars!
hi very nice work every one looking very f..... good .
Love your videos. first car I drove was a 58 cdn Pontiac L aurentian with a 235 cube engine at 12 years old in the middle of winter. keep it up!
+Peter H Hey, thanks for the note, glad you liked it! First car I drove was a 61 Biscayne with the same engine and trans... Cheers from me and Stella!
Makes me wonder how my old f100 would look if I ‘abandoned’ it in your yard for a few days
Favourite Chevy model We got Bel Aires CKD out of Canada including the V8 option, Delrays retrimmed in Aussie leather were done in OZ 6 cylinder only
My god how the fleet has grown after all those years .
