This song guts me every time. There's something about the tone, pitch, & even wavelengths I can feel VERY heavily to this song... anyone else feel the same?
+Shay Mary Yeah, and it's a shame that this sort of sensitivity is pretty much gone these days or not understood. Back in the 90s this was standard for anything that aspired to feel hip, somewhat cool and deep at the same time... it was like a heyday for electronic music's presence in the mainstream. Nowadays people would probably call this weird... I might be wrong about all this, but that's my impression.
Dustie1984 And this is why I've grown to become a deadmau5 fan (& have been into Aphex Twins & Bjork so much also!), but esp. deadmau5. He HATES almost everything out there. So do I. It's ess-aych-eye-tee (!!)! And those like you & I would also agree!!!!
I’m listening it in 2022. It’s so beautiful and misteryous this song. I come back in 1998, when I was 24 and I close my eyes. I imagine a peaceful future; everyone lives in harmony with the nature and without wars. These are my sensations when I listen this song.
Proof that Noel is more versatile than people think. I wish he had used this and it's electronic style for an Oasis album, taking more time out to write a vocal melody for it rather than giving it to Ian Brown, then giving it to Liam to sing to. This would have made for a great reinvention of the band.
I totally agree. It's a missed opportunity for Noel Gallagher to have not started composing on the piano. There's an alternate dimension where he did that and it was probably awesome because of it.
Eh, Noel used the electronic drums a lot, listen to “Go Let It Out” it sounds vaguely similar to this, as does a lot his work at the beginning of the new millennium
He wrote it after going to the Teotihuacan Pyramids (hence the name) and named it his best piece of work he ever did. He's definitely up there with the best of all time
Worked in a movie theatre in the summer of 98. This was the theme song to picking up half full popcorn bags and empty candy packages. I was a huge Oasis fan and I wasn’t sure if this was Noel Gallagher’s song or not until months after the movie had long left the theatre.
Vividly remember seeing this film in the theaters at 12 years old and loving this song more than the film Itself. I enjoyed the movie, but the song is just a mixture of nostalgia, knowing there are more challenges to come but knowing that, like Mulder, you’ll have a wonderful partner at your side. Mulder and Scully forever, bro.
For me it's the song of entering high-school, moving to a new house, playing Turok Dinosaur Hunter on the N64, and the last summer with my grandmother before the cancer got her. Pretty turbulent time, personally, but foundational. Crazy to realize I've not listened to it in over 20 years. Just showed up in my recommended. Haven't even been looking up X-Files stuff recently.
I love the way this song plays over the credits of Fight the Future. It's such a hopeful ending. We may have lost this time, but that doesn't mean we're going to give up. It brings back emotions every time I listen...
Who’s the enemy tho?,,or is the enemy mankind it’s self. We all can’t be free. A world without rules is world full of chaos. So the illusions will remain for the protection of mankind for now. Sadly many can’t fight for a future if their already chained and didn’t know it. Yet saying this may be when mankind understands the only way to be free is accepting to be part of a system that works for the benefit of the house (Mother Earth). We must be one for the protection of the House and her contents including us. This is why I believe we all had the chance to fight for the future but stayed. Accepted. We seen what the world could give us not what we could do for the world and for those that suffer while we drown in greed. Now we are fat and hungry for more but Mother Earth is dying now. And as of today the world is much a different place from the past. Why because this is what future we allowed for our self. We never stopped and asked or fought for a bright future because society was blinded by the moment. And still are for sadly those that do fight for our future are largely laughed at by the fat cat that is now the society. Not the poor and forgotten. We have allowed robots to take our jobs for they don’t need paying no food to eat. Resources. Which will be kept only for those that have something to offer the system or conform. Well who wants the Apple Kart shaken..?. So yes I’d fight for a future but will mankind make sacrifices and stop being stupid burning each others house down in wars and battles of religion will the ones house that house all houses dies around us. That’s why I say mankind is the enemy and that’s who your fighting. Your self. And how can a world love each other if we don’t love ourselves enough to save ourselves and the world we live in. Daft. Good luck in your fight,,,I hope the powers that be see that yes I may rattle the Apple Kart but I’d also like to play the game. We all have a Job to do. Mine is to stop you all from destroying each other and me. I can’t fail my creators test not fail as a father and a protector of the young and innocent. We can at least fight for their future,,by loving ourselves be at one with the world and all those hearts that are in it.
The perfect song for when you end your night out with your friends, and the weather is all dark and rainy and dreary, and you need your own moment of solace and peace while the rain hits the windshield as you head on home
Funny, when the movie came out I was living countryside (can´t recommend that unless you´re a hermit) and one time me and my friend (he had a car) went to see it ( we were both X-Files fans). Well, a bit dull movie, but when we were driving back it was exactly like you said, dark and rainy with some fog (my friend was actually worried when he couldn`t see and had to slow down...) Unforgettable : )
I remember hearing this for the first time when the credits rolled and My God was I just TRANSFIXED! Such an amazing piece of music and it perfectly fit in with the enigma and thrill of the X-Files mythology!
Noel wrote this after a visit to the pyramids of Teotihuacán, in 1998, Oasis had two concerts in México City, it was the be here now tour, first time I saw them live.
I can still see myself taking my time to leave the room while the credits roll up and stepping down the stairs to the rhythm in slo-mo. Damn, I wish they reshowed this movie in the cinemas. Great work on this track Noel, thank you for gracing the X-Files world and giving us a great closing credits tune. Perfect.
+tatum gammon , Yeah, that movie was the franchise killer to X-files (which I loved and watched 8 years straight). Too bad, as there was so much promise, but the movie plot was muddled and twisting. Chris Carter, couldnt you figure it out?! While living in Kobe, Japan, I rented a big old house, at night once I put on the X-files movie soundtrack, turned off the lights and let the tunes flow throughout. By the end, sometime around Noel's track I dozed off. Startled and awoken later by a man's voice talking in the dark. Someone with a deep voice talking in the dark, and I thought the house was empty! Paralyzed with fear, scared, and with no flashlight, I start looking room to room, but... it was the soundtrack. Approximately 15-20min after the last track, a voice suddenly starts speaking, and the topic is (of course) the X-files universe, Scully, Mulder, the Syndicate, etc. Yes, where did the time go? Once a young man, but now merely young at heart.
Genial tema de Noel para x files!!! Tremenda serie y que buena película Comenze a ver the x files siendo niña y ahora a mis 35 sigo viendola en las platamorfas y no deja de impresionarme y cautivarme, eterna fan.
I love this song, i listened to it one time i visited Teotihuacan, the song really goes with the mistery of that long lost civilization, nothing is really known about them, not even what language they spoke or how they were really called (everything in the media is just BS and second guesses), the song goes really well with the questions which will never be answered.
There's a strong DJ Shadow/Unkle illbient vibe to this song. Definitely one of my faves off that album. Check out 'Endtroducing...' by DJ Shadow and 'Psyence Fiction' by UNKLE.
The X - Files:Fight The Future is the best movie that was ever ever made i love it so much. I just finished today with Season 8 and i can't wait for Season 9 and I will watch the movie tomorrow again. This is the best movie ever made!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@benzion8885 Just another guy spouting bullshit on the internet. Noel can play the piano, though not masterfully well. But certainly well enough to put this song together. Guess everyone's heard by now that The x-files is returning to FOX for six episodes later this year or in early 2016. I am elated, thrilled and can't wait to see this pair on the small screen again as Mulder and Scully. I really hope they will give the fans some closure about their son William and what happened to him after the adoption.

Just Showing this movie to my girlfriend, she was too young to remind well of 90° but I remember. It's good to read you guys.

rz21 we need sequel to the 1998 version
X-Files I Want To Believe came out in 2008
I Want to Believe was more of a stand alone episode than a sequel. I think the final season was the “sequel”.
Noel is brilhant!! such great talent
He readapted this tune with Ian Brown years later. Keep what You Got. Another great one.
Fun fact the drumloop that starts at 0:50 was used on D’You Know What I Mean in 2002 at the Heathen Chemistry tour
I thought I recognized it !!! Thanks man
I want to believe.

Brilliant song. Sure Ian Brown used this tune for his "Keep What Ya Got" as it actually credits Noel Gallagher
It honestly makes me sad that this isn't on Spotify. I found a different version of it there but it was just not the same and it felt wrong somehow.
