I met up with Zack before he officially joined ozzy in the 80s, we also went to New York to see a show of his which was nothing like Ozzy, everything you see and hear now was producers who helped make the ozzy records electrifying, it could of been me, you etc, regardless Zack is a phenomenal player, allot more under the hood, allot of heart...im so glad people can get this in software..Zack is not the type to hold back anything,,,the more players the more music.
Aside a few squeals like a pig, nice wide guitar sound, a number of BLS riffs and his voice I cant see anything qualifying Zack as original as anyone else, maybe better the Jake E Lee but to me Brad Gillis and Bernie Tourme had nicer tone, style and presence..Joe Holmes was Ozzy's best guitarists since Randy Rhoads hands down...not a pretty guy though so people ignore him.
@@mr.mikehunt4286 Joe Holmes has great tone for a strat player, he does the same trick with the spx90 but only with a lexicon PCM 90 ( i think) ...but for example, the spx90 and yamaha ns10 monitors where just some of the gear people considered mediocre at the time for guitars but now days they survived the test of time.
@@gabrielraphaelofficial ok but to get the Zack aka single guitarists to stereo sound using the spx 90 you have to pay roughly $500 according to this video. @@mr.mikehunt4286 it's all about the package. You need a certain level of chops, you need to be a good fit with the band, you need a certain look, and you need the all important rock star personality/vibe/aura, of which Zakk has more of than these guys. You can't just be a good guitar player.
Nice playing as always, The plugin Sounds good, I own 2 SPX 90s The top end of this plugin is not the same. But its close thats for sure.. Awesome they released this!
The SPX90 was THAT magic sound back in the day! This is the only paid plugin that I know of that legitimately takes a stab at the symphonic setting emulation. Valhalla software's FREE "Space Modulator" VST will definitely get you pretty damn close to that "bullseye" IMO. Pun intended. Ha! 🔥🤘🔥

Hey Euge, Always killer info man... But I noticed you used a Micropitch very often in other clips, is that also a THU plugin and can we find it in this package?? Thanks bro!
I have Fryette P50E speakers on the Fryette cab. I think they’re made by Eminence and I like them a lot and I’ve used that cab on many albums. On Cyhra’s albums I’ve used the producer Jacob Hansen’s ENGL & Mesa cabs both loaded with Celestion V30s and I like those a lot too. I’ve also used Celestion Greenbacks which I like also a lot. The sound you hear isn’t actually from my monitors but directly from the DAW 😊. I’m releasing a video today where I explain how I do my videos.
@@EugeValovirta230V I’ll be looking forward to that video. I would love to get into that world but so far I got as far as apps on my iPad lol. Which in my defense they don’t sound bad. But I’m really interested in how your getting your sound from beginning hook up to the final sound.
Nielseniä on tullu jo pitempään seurattua just tuon 80-90 luvun ”räkkisaundien” ja vintage-efektien kiinnostuksen vuoksi👍🏻
Just curious a lost of these have the chorus and the Yamaha plugin. For the album tones, was he likely using both in the post of was the chorus up front before the amp?
If I remember correct he didn’t use (and still doesn’t) use chorus when recording ’cos by double (or quad) tracking guitars you get a natural chorus anyway. More about that here😎: ruclips.net/video/1c7aEOJtSlM/видео.html
Would you mind sharing what the rate , depth, and mix were set to on the symphonic plug in per michael Nielsen? I just picked up a yamaha magicstomp which has the symphonic patch and I'm trying to nail zakks tone 🤘
Oh there were tens of different ones from song to song etc. and I don’t remember how he had those dialled. I just use my ears and tweak the knobs until I hear something I like. I mean there’s only 3 knobs so it’s really fast & easy to play around with 😎.
Is focusrite scarlett a good interface to play with plugins? I have scarlett solo 2nd gen and I get very horribly bad tones with ALL VST plugins. I have THU, Bias FX, Amplitube, STL and guitar rig. All sound bad. Not sure what's wrong. But the scarlett sounds very dark and thin and woofy and muddy. Is it same with you, when playing Guitar - Scarlett - Computer? I see you get awesome tones but you use a real marshall and shur load box before instead of direct high z input of scarlett. Let me know your thoughts my friend.
I think it’s great! With real amps or cable directly into the unit and with plugins. Can’t think of anything negative 👌🔥. For example I recorded all solos on Cyhra’s latest album ’No Halos In Hell’ with that and I used STL Howard Benson Plexi Marshall plugin and it sounds great!
@@EugeValovirta230V OK. Thanks for reply Euge! If you say it sounds great, I believe you. Just don't understand why it's sounding horrible with me. If I use someone else's DI track and run my plugins over that DI guitar track, then it sounds great. Also when I listen to YOUR videos using scarlett solo as DAC through my KRK monitors, it sounds great. Only when I plug in my guitar(s) and use high Z input, it sounds horrible. Dark, thin, lifeless and muddy, wooshy... Really not sure what's going on here. I've tried different sample rates also. I also opened up the device just to check if some electrical component inside has died or not, and everything looks fine inside. Yet it sounds horrible. Not usable. I just love the tones you get from the plugins, that's why I asked you about it. Thanks man!
@@EugeValovirta230V Just another question. If I'm using a DI box with my scarlett, Where do I need to flick the switch, towards line/inst ? Because when using guitar straight into focusrite, we select inst switch. But now when using DI box and XLR mic input on focusrite, that switch needs to be on Line or Inst?
Euge can you make a video showing all the chords riffs for the album no rest for the wicked using this SPX90 symphonic plug in. The whole album to get the chords and riffs because Zakk use some weird chords and riffs that sound good with the SPX90 symphonic plug in.
Didn’t I explain it in the video? 😎 But anyway: the plugin is in the inserts of the channel on my DAW where the guitar / amp / reactive load ir - signal is going 👌.
