Until we DECIDE that we WILL own what WE need to for our communities. I always say, “Own or be owned.” We have the resources, allocation is the only issue.

Ehh…I need some more context around this reasoning big dawg. From just this clip it would suggest that ownership of assets/institutions would quell police brutality. But history has shown us that black ownership often provokes the ire of racism as our elevation is perceived as an existential threat. In any case, whether we own 1,000 acres each or own not a pot to piss in, police brutality is not the responsibility of the brutalize to eliminate. But i’d like to see this clip in its entirety. 💯

Good evening, sir, I see your point of view. However, you missed his point...it's not that we need those institutions to amass riches, but like he said..."to sustain life". That clip was enough to question what happened to black institutions and how did they sustain us. The context is that as long as we "need" their institutions to help sustain the "black community", they hold the mental power to govern the "black community" how they please and we can't say sh** and bet not say sh** if we want our children to receive what most think is education, wealth opportunities, and FREEDOM OF WILL. Hope that helps!
