Came out in 1995 STILL fresh, inventive& funny. Beats ANYTHING that came out then till now PURE INVENTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊 COCKNEY RUBEBWOY GOLD ❤
Hazza im not joking... these guys had crazy rhyme schemes, dope original styles, great wordplay, and produced some all time classic, innovative and original tracks.. Their peak years were short lived but at their best they are definitely a truly legendary hip hop group which I'd place alongside (or in some cases above) Gangstarr, Tha Alkaholiks, Da Lench Mob, Dogg Pound, Tribe Called Quest, Das Fx, Helter Skelter, EPMD, Mobb Deep, Wu Tang, NWA, Def Squad, DITC etc..
fucking craxy how profound my knowledge of hip hop is and how i have analytically studied flocks of rap crews and rare MCs as well as researched a long lineage of flowers from the crevices of the underground scene in ny and l.a but never knew that these guys existed....mad as i am Londoner. this shit is true flowing and rhyimg and pure beats
I think it's well regarded that the 90s was the "golden age" but it was primarily NY and west coast, maybe they just had a "bigger scene" i.e more rappers and maybe even more interest, though perhaps the bigger population did that or maybe the way the media spoke about it. Either way, great to find this London hip hop.
Lovely!!!!!!!!!! 2:11 !!!.ThX 4 tha memories stonkin' tooooooooooon!!!!!. ♥️ MC' s come fresh/but can't test cuz they know I function best on malibu & sess.Ha ha ha!!!!!! LEGENDARY $$$$$$$$$$
First time I heard this was on a cassette tape I got free with mixmag. It was House of Pain - Who's the Man mixed this then to Lois Rankin - Typewriter. If anyone has the original tape please let me know.
For me this is one of the best of all time. I think this part a kind of cd single with 4 different artists called roughness and one of the other tunes was epic. Probably all london rap from what I remember (not a lot I was to bonged up in those days) still paying the price :-)
Agreed. To be honest I get a bit fed up with reading "ahead of its time" on tracks that don't deserve it written by people just because they look a tune. This really was ahead of it's time, with innovative lyrics and flow.
I can't find this track anywhere other than on yt. Not on the re-release in 2013 and it's not showing on the original release 1990 (when I look on discogs). Was it called something else maybe? Weird one
+chud jackson ordered the Gangster Chronicles of Tru Thoughts after listening to a few of their tunes over the last few days. Gutted to find this ain't on there. Rodney's second verse is liiiiive...
