Hickory, and the surrounding areas, has grown so much. I grew up in Granite Falls, and it's grown so much in the almost 20 years since the Walmart went up. I just hope this area, no matter how much it grows, retains its small town feel. I never plan to move away, this is where I'm born and raised. I consider Hickory my hometown as well.
My wife is looking at a job close by in Hudson, NC. We are in Lake Wylie right now. Not sure my wife would like this place but it looks like heaven to me.
Lake Wylie is beautiful! We have some buyers wanting to move onto the NC side of Lake Wylie, if you’re considering selling! Come visit Hickory, NC! It really is a special place. Maybe your wife would like it! 😀
I am looking to buy property in a place that won’t take 30 minutes to drive down the street to the store in ungodly traffic. I will be driving there to check out the area. Sounds lovely and exactly what I am looking for.

It’s right down the road from a soup kitchen! There’s lots of nice locals wandering in from there! Lots of dru.. I mean recreation! Don’t forget to do some tent spotting while in town! We’d rather more people didn’t come here and contribute to this problem! Please go to Asheville! Way more to do, quite a few more mountains and just a little more completely and utterly ruined!
