You are STILL relevant! I appreciate your time, kindness, and mindblowingly intuitive approach to teaching. I transferred into UCLA - and you have helped in every math class I have had. Thank your thank you thank you!!!
Professor Leonard is the awesomest! I am currently taking Statistics for Behavioral Sciences and NOTHING in class makes sense! We are on chapter 7 about to do the 2nd test and I found these videos, I went back to the beginning and a light bulb has come on!! Thanks for making it statistics for dummies simple!!!!!!
They are like math lawyers. How can we make it so the masses can't understand what we are doing . Excellent. And schools have the audacity to demand teaching degrees when half the teachers are useless. I had a qualified teacher in high school biology. aka - alcoholic. He just turned off the lights and played films everyday.
If every teacher were like him the world would be a much better place. Everyone would want to get an education. I enjoy learning from him so much because he lays it out so clearly and logically ordered that I know exactly what is going on :) THANKS
Professor Leonard you are just an incredible professor. The way in which you explain everything in careful detail makes it so much easier to understand. You add that special sense of humor as the ingredient that makes your lectures enjoyable and fun. Tip my hat!!! Thanks a million. I have everything clear now! God Bless you!!!!!!!
i just love you man, I L O V E YOU!!!! YOU SAVED ME! PLEASE DO NOT TAKE DOWN THESE VIDEOS! I WILL COME BACK AGAIN AND AGAIN TO THOSE!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!! :)
Even after 6 years your session has changed my life. Thank you very much for this outstanding video session. You are the best Professor Leonard. God bless you SIR
Professor Leonard thank you so much! You seriously have a gift for teaching that is unmatched. I wish you the best of luck in all you do and thanks again for these awesome videos and teaching us students who you will never know you have changed their lives.
One important point on median, which was not discussed here. While ignoring outliers, another really important property of median is that it does not change actual values, if you use a slightly alternative way of computing it. That is, given even number of values, you don't take a mean of those two, but simply pick either by random, always choose lower/upper or whatever, depending on problem at hand. The usefulness of this method is that then you never produce values that are _not_ in the actual sample (like mean, which often produces fractions when samples are integers). This is very useful in several computer engineering problems, like image processing/filtering.
I took statistics long ago that I forgot a lot of it. your class is a nice refresher and definitely a lot easier to understand when I learned it the first time.
My teacher went over all of this today and I got kind of lost since her English is not very good. This video was unbelievably helpful. Thank you as always!
First of all, you are literally saving my life with this class, my teacher is awful and you make so much sense. Second of all, I would TOTALLY hire you to be a cow special effects noise. You nailed it.
