As a youngster the only Terrytoons I saw on television consisted of Mighty Mouse, Heckle and Jeckle, Deputy Dawg, Tom Terrific and The Mighty Heroes. This is only the 2d or 3d Gandy short I've ever seen and only in the past two days at that. Maltin is correct about the appeal of Gandy's Ed Wynn-inspired voice and character. I rather like and enjoy him despite being very aware of how things were done at the New Rochelle NY studios before Paul Terry sold out to CBS in 1955.
