GRUNGEY WITCH VIBES FOR LIFE!!! 😍😍😍 I loved watching your ranking! And when you were mentioning doing the BYOP videos again, it got me thinking about organizing my palettes by monthly "vibes" and using only those palletes for that month. I LOVE makeup, and my collection is huge, but I don't do my makeup very often because I just get lazy about it. So I have been thinking of ways to challenge myself to use it more. Thanks for putting in the work so that we all got to oooh and aaaah at everything you've tried! 🕳👽🙃
Totally agree. It's hard to choose when you have so much. I legit take whatever catches my eye out and do eenie meenie money moe 😅😅😅 and same.. i haven't worn makeup lately as much as i used too.
I tried Fantasy Cosmetica for the first time this year and fell hard for the Druid palette. I have to make myself use other things LOL! I went for a while wearing minimalist eye makeup but I’m finding my groove again with eyeshadow. I LOVE your videos and cannot wait to watch them all in 2024!
If you haven’t tried Sorcerer yet, it’s definitely worth it, I love the colors in that one. But I’m a sucker for bright pinks and the pink/purple/teal combo.
My Best Palettes of 2022 Last year my most used eyeshadow palette was Spooked by Gourmande Girls. The color payoff and shimmers were INSANE and I bought it because of you. I had such a craving for colors and it was a mixture of my most favorite colors from that army green, oranges, pumpkin shimmer to dark red and dark purple ughhh ♥ My second most worn was Colourpop's Hoccus Poccus Palette. Hated the lime green on there because it didn't show well on my eyelid but loved everything else. I bought the whole collection so I got to experience it fully and it was very fun for me. I will never forget how fun it was to buy a whole collection, I usually don't buy collections like that but again, I was craving Halloweeny colors and this was perfect me. I also loved the gradient layout they did on the palette because it's very beginner friendly whereas the Spooked palette makes you think more and encourages you to get creative. My Best Palettes of 2023 This year my most worn eyeshadow palette was surprisingly Cosmos by Anastasia Beverly Hills. Just how you're a sucker for Halloween and Festive themed palettes, I'm a sucker for anything space related so I fell into this trap. I will say, for the price I was not happy with the quality of this palette. ABH does not even come close to the quality of the indie brands I've tried so far. I think you're mostly paying for the name and reputation it created for itself since 2016. I didn't return it because I did genuinely still love the colors and the theme. I started working in the office this year so I had to lean more neutral but I wanted a twist which is what this palette did for me. I loved the duo chromes in this palette and my favorite shades are Space Dust, Mars and Quasar. The galaxy shade is probably the most insane black shimmer I have ever worked with and it actually looks like a damn galaxy on your eyeball. It just has too much fallout for my liking. My second most worn palette this year was Nude Mood by Colourpop. This is a warm neutral palette but it is such an easy grab. I didn't get to play with a lot of color this year because I've been going to so many formal and professional places. Life also dragged me by the ass this year so I didn't get to chill and be very creative with colors. Worst Palettes of 2023 Menagerie Arthurine Christmas Palette: I bought it because it was only $30USD and since I was wearing so many neutrals this year I thought I'd give it a shot but these shadows were so hard to work with. They were very dusty, had a TON of fallout (and I usually dont mind fallout) and were difficult to blend. The colors kept getting muddy with one another even when they were similar colors to each other. I haven't tried any other shadows from this brand but it might just be this palette. Maybe I need to try it out more as well and it was a bad makeup day but regardless I'm gonna make it work cuz im not rich lol Cosmos by ABH: Contradicting because this was also my most worn palette because I do make the shadows work one way or another. The quality was just not there for me and I don't know if I will ever buy from this brand again. It's not unusable, I still make it work and my looks come out very pretty and I still get so many compliments from people that are not afraid to tell me when something doesn't look good lol so I know it isn't all that bad. Palettes I am eyeing: Deinfluenced by Bella Beaute Bar - Those deep reds and oranges are my vibe! They look so good on brown eyes and I'm a deep autumn girly so I love wearing those colors. Whatever and Smokin' Hot by Colourpop - I have been craving deep reds and oranges because it looks so good on my complexion and the price is what makes it even more tempting.
I received Sorcerous Smoke palette as a Christmas present and the shimmers are soooo good. Ghost town USA, Siren Sunset, and Snow Dream are 3 of my favorites for the year.
I love these end of year ranking videos! ❤ I always look forward to them. One thing I’ll say about yours is that I feel like you’re honest, maybe more so than SOME other creators, and I like that! At the same time, though, you’re always respectful and positive when explaining what you don’t love about a certain product. You always remind us that it’s based on your personal preferences and that’s it’s okay, normal really, for everyone to have different preferences. I guess what I’m trying to say is that I feel like, as a consumer, I can watch your reviews and really trust that you’re being as honest as possible, especially considering that you know and have work and personal relationships with the brands and creators of these products! You’re honest, knowledgeable and tactful with your phrasing…relatable as well! You’re great at what you do! ❤Thank you for being yourself!
Awesome breakdown. I have all the top ten except odens eye and blend bunnies. I would agree with muse, recently deinfluenced, socerous smoke, basic witch, bejewelled, harvest moon are all my favorites. Love fun ranking videos
What a lot of reviews you’ve done this year! If there was one thing I hope for from you is another collaboration and more BYOP videos. You are so creative and inspiring and you bring fresh eyes to shadows and palettes.
Lure by Blend Bunny was my first indie pallet and.. OMG. I literally use it everyday whether by itself or complimenting another pallet. 2023 was a fantastic year finding RUclips makeup channels and indie brands. Thank u so much for all ur reviews and videos. ❤
I bought my Ensley Reign Harvest Moon palette in the beginning of December and it’s FINALLY getting delivered today. Can’t wait to wear it to celebrate the new year🎉 thank you for showing us that brand!
Great video and effort, Betty Jean! Thank you for all your hard work, and I appreciated the swatches for close-ups all the way through too. You had a lot of GREAT palettes to rank this time!
The fact that Basic Witch was your favorite is crazy because I bought it because of your review! It was one of my favorites of the year as well! Thank you for your amazing and honest reviews, you are hands down my favorites makeup RUclipsrs!
Omgg I was so excited for this video!! I loved it. I really want to try Ensley reign now!! They look so pretty and good. I can’t wait to see more collections, I’m pumped for new releases 🩷🩷🩷🩷
This was so fun and relaxing to watch. TYFS ❤ I love your energy and nothing wrong with your love for grungy eyeshadows. My top 3 of 2023 would be: 3) Halloweentown (NBC) x Melt 2) Inspired (Unnamed)- Adept 1) Jewels and Gem- Odens Eye. This palette surprised the crap out of me. I hope OE keeps the formula consistent bc its been amazing 🎉 I collect Adepts palettes as they've become one of my favorite brands and I have my 1st BBB palette on the way and I'm so excited to finally try them out!
Loved your ranking video very much and Basic Witch deserves number one spot. I honestly don't think anyone should make a drinking game of how much you said grungy, jewel tones. Lol 😘💜
I LOVE the Basic Witch pallet… I also absolutely love the Siren Sunset from Lunar and the Fall Magic from Unearthly. I was surprised at how much I love the Ghost Town USA because at first I thought it leaned too neutral for me, but I reach for it a ton.
Unfortunately my favorite palette I tried this year was bought as the brand was closing down. It's the Milan Rowe x Doodles by the Bunny Poison Garden.
Basic Witch is amazing. I've had it about a month now. I adore it. And Muse is my favorite CB pallette that they've made as well. It is grungy swamp-fest. You can do soft pink, gorgeous, green grunge or a mix of both. They're purple is delicious . That was so fun! 💖✨🌈🦄
Hey this was great. Love that you do primarily indie makeup. That’s so great. Went and bought cosmic brushes based on your input and gave several blend bunny palettes as gifts also based on your support for the brand. I want to see your ranking of all blend bunny palettes.
I loooove your ranking videos ❤❤❤❤ i just feel so connected with your choices; it makes me feel like being validated, haha. Also, you are so gorgeous always!! And yes, Grungy forever!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘
Betty Jean I absolutely loved your collab with Oden’s Eye! I admit that I got it to complete the set but it ended up being my favorite and one of my top palettes for the year. It is so special!
I was really looking forward to your list. Some of the palettes ended up in my top 6 in 3rd place basic witch 2nd place flower moon 1st place ghost town USA These are my 3 favourite palettes for 2023, I'm excited to see what's coming onto the market in the new year. I hope the brands take a little more time for releases. Since September, things have got a bit out of hand and become too much for me personally. Have a great New Year's Eve and a happy new year❤ 🎃🎃🎃🍪🍪🍪🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛
Every time I see one of these types of vids I am in awe...it takes so much work! I appreciate that you included previous swatches too. The Harvest Moon definitely made it in my tops this year and also your Hallow Bean collab palette which I didn't get until this year. I did a de-clutter of all of my makeup recently including 6 palettes. Looking forward to perhaps trying Blend Bunny for the first time next year if something speaks to me. Happy New Year to you and yours! 🖤🦇🐈⬛
You and I have the same likes and loves on colors.... I LOVE watching your content!! I love, love, love Cosmic Brushes!! But I missed out on the winter pallet!! Thank you for the fabulous video! You did such a fantastic job putting in the swatches for each pallet!!🥰🥰🥰❤❤
This is my second comment to say that my favorite Indie palette this year is a toss up between the Basic Witch from BBB, the Haunted from GG and the Inspired from Adept! There have just been SO many fantastic releases the past year!
I feel so stoked that I have several of the palettes in your ranking and even one in your top ten, the Lure by BB! Loved this video. Gorgeous palettes and a lot of fun!
Loved seeing your ranking! I bought the Harvest Moon from Easley Reign and the Lure from Blend Bunny not too long ago and they are both Stunning. I was so pleased to see them so high in your ranking. You tried so many gorgeous palettes this year. Now I need to take a closer look at Basic Witch.
Basic witch I can't put it down I love it too and recently deinfluenced , I'm behind on cosmic brushes and ensley reign but I do have the Gothic and the twisted tea I need to catch up on there newer launches and excited to see what they come up with in 2024
Thank you for the swatches! Sooooo many gorgeous palettes will be adding to my wishlist. I'm surprised you didn't mention Whats Up Beauty! Their Dragon Eye palette seems right up your alley :D
It's interesting, going back and watching your first video, how much your tastes in color have changed. I love seeing progression. ❤ Also, there are so many more interesting indie brands and formulas now than ever 6 years ago. Muse is my favorite palette! Yay!
I bought 4 palettes this year: the odens eye Christmas Eve palette, the kaleidos lunar lavender and electro turquoise palettes, and the shroud costmetics moonfall palette.
I'm still enjoying the Forest Heart palette. The Rogue palette was a miss for me, unfortunately. The shimmers crease on me, and I use a primer. That was the their color story that really spoke to me, too. I love the Helaween Little Ghost palette, but the darker blue fades quickly, so I bring in the blue from the Solmane II, instead. I'm excited for the Bellabeautébar x DeandraNicoleee palette coming mid-January. It's only 15 shades, and that color story might be so beautiful.
Wow Betty I finally tried Simply Posh with the launch of Aurora Lights ! It truly is a stunning palette. I feel like SO many amazing palettes launched in the second half of 2023 !
I adore lure, sugar & grunge and basic witch. I only got 10 this year which is a ny resolution I kept. Amanda's flora story palette and the Huda rose quartz I picked up on sale are also lovely. The pat McGrath r2d2 palette was not great and I should have just bought a new r2d2 tchotchke instead. Decluttering is definitely on the agenda for 2024.
I just joined your membership so I hadn't had a chance to watch your members only videos yet. I will say that Lure sparked my interest in Blend Bunny, and there are definitely a few indie brands on my list to try this year. My Blend Bunny order is getting delivered today, and I want to try Bella Beaute, Wicked Widow, Simply Posh, and more from Unearthly this year. So far, I only have Resurgence and the new holiday collection when it gets here, plus Strawberry Shake from when they were Alien. All the indie palettes look cool, but I have to try to narrow down the ones I'm most interested in. Plus, I still use a lot of other brands, both indie and mainstream, that I like to keep up with. Favorite palettes for me this year were definitely Natasha Denona Xenon and Yucca, Glamlite's Chucky, Patrick Ta's holiday palette, Colourpop's Smokin Hot and Aurora. I'm sure there's more 😄
I got the Aurora Lights palette by Simply Posh cosmetics for Christmas and I love it! The shimmers are outstanding. I haven’t used it yet but I’m very excited to. 🔮 🧚♂️
I'm still interested in some palettes that released last year but feel like i should hit pan or something in some of my other palettes before buying anything else...or declutter. 😂 I think my least used palettes are a couple BH palettes from the Say It collection that i got last year about this time. The Do Not Disturb (blue is not my color, who would have thought) and Low Key Love you. Hindsight is 20/20.
I love Nomad cosmetics Betty! I didn't actually pick up the royal Europe palette because there are no light shades and I can't get away with deep looks. I have close-set, deep-set eyes and very pale skin. Lol but I really think it's a stunning palette! Part of me hopes nomad will do a lighter version of that color story, with some iridescent multichromes! That would be so pretty, although I don't know a destination that would fit that theme 😂
There’s no rule that says you have to only use one palette! You could pull from another for lighter shades if you like the overall palette aside from that!
I wonder if some of the ones where you ranked lower but you liked some shadows if you could pop them out as singles and just keep the special shadows. Kinda make your own palette
It’s unfortunate but if you don’t like the alter ego cream to powder formula I think you would probably hate Natasha denona’s as well. I can’t stand her cream to powder formula for all the same reasons. It behaves weird and is notorious for never being the same color as in pan
I have never tried a cream to powder formula that I liked, not even Lisa Eldridge's, I don't get the appeal. It skips on my skin, which is a bit looser now, because it's a bit tacky when I put it on, and then the marks it leaves can't be blended out. And if it then does dry down to a powder, just what's the point?
Great ranking video! I’m also really into grungy jewel tones, and I have many of your favorites. Your collab with OE is definitely in my top ten. Im🦒🦋🌷🌏🌗💪
I don’t have a problem getting the alter ego cream to powder to intensify on my iPhone I use them very dense, natural hair, Ora Dental, sir synthetic and I can get it to build up darker than in the pan. But it is a build up

@@battybean Oooh ok thanks for answering and sorry if it's not the first time you do (I checked like the first 20 comments, btw lots of respect for reading them all!). And happy new year 💕
I envision a world of beauty RUclips where creators don't have to over-explain and justify their opinions so that grouchy gusses won't come for them. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. 😂❤

Do you mean it’s not okay to be pissed off that not everyone loves the exact same thing that I do?? Crazy!! It always makes me cringe when my fav creators have to say, don’t come to me!! lol! It’s so strange that folks get mad at someone who is sharing their opinion!
I agree 100%! They shouldn't have to justify anything they feel and say. It's a personal makeup ranking. ❤

And when you were mentioning doing the BYOP videos again, it got me thinking about organizing my palettes by monthly "vibes" and using only those palletes for that month. I started my journey with Ensley Reign because of you, and I'm totally in love with their palettes.
I want too.. but they are so expensive. 😢😢
🥰🖤
If you haven’t tried Sorcerer yet, it’s definitely worth it, I love the colors in that one. But I’m a sucker for bright pinks and the pink/purple/teal combo.
My Best Palettes of 2022
Last year my most used eyeshadow palette was Spooked by Gourmande Girls.
My Best Palettes of 2023
This year my most worn eyeshadow palette was surprisingly Cosmos by Anastasia Beverly Hills.
Worst Palettes of 2023
Menagerie Arthurine Christmas Palette: I bought it because it was only $30USD and since I was wearing so many neutrals this year I thought I'd give it a shot but these shadows were so hard to work with. They were very dusty, had a TON of fallout (and I usually dont mind fallout) and were difficult to blend. The colors kept getting muddy with one another even when they were similar colors to each other. I haven't tried any other shadows from this brand but it might just be this palette. Maybe I need to try it out more as well and it was a bad makeup day but regardless I'm gonna make it work cuz im not rich lol
Cosmos by ABH: Contradicting because this was also my most worn palette because I do make the shadows work one way or another. The quality was just not there for me and I don't know if I will ever buy from this brand again. It's not unusable, I still make it work and my looks come out very pretty and I still get so many compliments from people that are not afraid to tell me when something doesn't look good lol so I know it isn't all that bad.
Palettes I am eyeing:
Deinfluenced by Bella Beaute Bar - Those deep reds and oranges are my vibe!

Agreed.
Also IM LOVING the dark green in your hair. So pretty. 💚
I tried exactly 0 palettes this year XD
But I still love watching palette content. I am so happy it doesn't influence me to buy though.
I wish I had your self control! 💸
Proud of your self control!

I love the grungy, dusty, shades because they look good on my skin tone, but most people think they are ugly colors, lol
I LOVE dark and dramatic jewel tones 💟
I’m gonna have to go through this again and get the names of the palettes I liked! Absolutely loved all of these palettes!!
What a lot of reviews you’ve done this year! If there was one thing I hope for from you is another collaboration and more BYOP videos. You are so creative and inspiring and you bring fresh eyes to shadows and palettes.

I’m forever bitter that I don’t have basic witch. I finally saved up enough to buy it and it was sold out 😅 I really hope the brand restocks.
Hopefully!🤞🏻🤞🏻
This was so fun and relaxing to watch. TYFS ❤ I love your energy and nothing wrong with your love for grungy eyeshadows. My top 3 of 2023 would be:
3) Halloweentown (NBC) x Melt
2) Inspired (Unnamed)- Adept
1) Jewels and Gem- Odens Eye. This palette surprised the crap out of me. I hope OE keeps the formula consistent bc its been amazing 🎉
I collect Adepts palettes as they've become one of my favorite brands and I have my 1st BBB palette on the way and I'm so excited to finally try them out!
I landed a Selena palette this year. It's rightfully called the queen from Huda Beauty, and it's amazing. it's my glittery dream come true!
Loved your ranking video very much and Basic Witch deserves number one spot. I honestly don't think anyone should make a drinking game of how much you said grungy, jewel tones. Lol 😘💜

The Bella Beaute Bar, Basic Witch palette was my favorite palette of 2023 too! 💜 You seriously put in the work. Thank you for ranking these!
Happy New Year Betty Jean! Love to you and your family! 🎉And hugs to all the kitties! 🐈⬛

This video has been amazing to watch! You tried a lot of stunning palettes✨❄️🍪📖
I was really looking forward to your list.
Some of the palettes ended up in my top 6 in 3rd place basic witch 2nd place flower moon 1st place ghost town USA
These are my 3 favourite palettes for 2023, I'm excited to see what's coming onto the market in the new year. I hope the brands take a little more time for releases. Since September, things have got a bit out of hand and become too much for me personally.

Omg Betty the E sley Reign Twisted Tea palette might be my favorite palette of the year !!
Yay, I pre-ordered Harvest Moon when it was out of stock and it's on the way now! So excited. Happy New Year!
Their Dragon Eye palette seems right up your alley :D
they use animal hair brushes & i avoid brands that aren’t cruelty free💔
This was a banger year for eyeshadow. Formulas have come so far in the last few years it must be sooo hard to rank so many amazing palettes.
The lure might be my favorite blend bunny palette.
Love watching your videos
My top few are the odens eye x Angelica trick or treat, Natasha Denona yucca, and ensleyreign harvest moon
Wow Betty I finally tried Simply Posh with the launch of Aurora Lights ! It truly is a stunning palette. I feel like SO many amazing palettes launched in the second half of 2023 !
That top 3 is soooo cool 😊 makes me want to get all 3!
I'm sure there's more 😄
thanks for joining!
I got the Aurora Lights palette by Simply Posh cosmetics for Christmas and I love it! The shimmers are outstanding. I haven’t used it yet but I’m very excited to. 🔮 🧚♂️
I’m so excited to try my Oden’s Eye palette, but you have to order it 2 weeks before you even think about it! Mine are taking FOR-EV-ER!
Love your sweater ❤ and the polish
love the ranking!
I'm still interested in some palettes that released last year but feel like i should hit pan or something in some of my other palettes before buying anything else...or declutter.
😂
I think my least used palettes are a couple BH palettes from the Say It collection that i got last year about this time.
Happy New Year! :o)
Oden's eye & basic WITCH YES!! LOL 🎉😂❤❤
It’s unfortunate but if you don’t like the alter ego cream to powder formula I think you would probably hate Natasha denona’s as well. I can’t stand her cream to powder formula for all the same reasons. It behaves weird and is notorious for never being the same color as in pan
that’s such a bummer! like justttt do powders lmao
Some people absolutely love it and I can’t understand why or how
@@Gloomy_Gooberas an older woman, I’ve come to really love the cream to powders! For whatever reason, they make my wrinkly lids look more smooth!
@@kristentrep5038Yes that is the appeal for me. Certain formulas are everything to me now, colors have to be a father 2nd.
Grungy is in my color vocabulary now! 😂
Danessa Myricks lightworks v , blend bunny sickly sweet 🌻🇦🇺
Great ranking video! I’m also really into grungy jewel tones, and I have many of your favorites. Your collab with OE is definitely in my top ten. Im🦒🦋🌷🌏🌗💪
Truly the only palette I purchased and tried this year was Nomad’s Ghost Town and it has truly blown me away 💖👻🤠
Basic witch took number 2 for me with BB surge in first
Aww my palette made the list ❤
so proud of youuuu
I don’t have a problem getting the alter ego cream to powder to intensify on my iPhone I use them very dense, natural hair, Ora Dental, sir synthetic and I can get it to build up darker than in the pan. But it is a build up
What do you do with your declutters? I always wondered what influencers do :)
I love Bailey Sarian’s Fatally Yours palette. So yummy. So pigmented.
Which cosmetic brand made the cold mood Palette?
The green hair is gorgeous, what hair dye did you use if you didn't get it done professionally?
I’m a professional and did it myself! It’s pulp riot absinthe
I'm sad I missed out on the Cold Moon palette. I don't want to wait 10 weeks for it lol darnit
Cool Moon looks like an edited version of Smokey Glam.
You did my house cleaning with me 😎
i actually also cleaned my house today irl hahaha
Do you have a poshmark/mercari account that you sell any makeup/clothing/etc?
Does she have them all listed somewhere?
You should check out Klarity Kosmetics in 2024. I tried some of their products for Cyber Monday, and they have some phenomenal products!
just waiting for the perfect release for me!
@@battybean Did you see the Komodo palette? That's what made me finally pull the trigger 🥰

We went from 36 directly to 25, was there a counting problem or a video problem? (Still love that video ❤)
I just misspoke & said 36 instead of 26. All 91 are there🖤
@@battybean Oooh ok thanks for answering and sorry if it's not the first time you do (I checked like the first 20 comments, btw lots of respect for reading them all!). And happy new year 💕
