I wouldn’t say it’s “rare” as in valuable rare but it seems to have been made in lower quantities. If that is what you found, then I would assume the cerakote is not done by S&W therefore any imperfections in the finish would not be covered by them.
I found the gun on palmetto state armory website and they only sell manufacture stuff and then send go FFL dealer of licensed in state dealer. What do you think? Is $399 high for m$p shielf 9mm with that set up?
Its not an edition. Its Cerokote or ceraminc coating. You send it to a company and they do it for you. Usually a couple hundred bucks. Whoever sold this to the shop he bought it from had it done custom. It doesnt come that way.

No, that isn’t true, whatsoever. They and many other companies have MIL/LE specific serial numbers that are essentially military/law enforcement discounted. Those cannot be sold to people other than that because they are on a different SKU and contract price.

For sure. Just look for an authorized Cerkote application specialist in your area. You can find the list on Cerakote’s website.

Yeah, I’m not sure who actually did the Cerakoting but that is the only place I’ve been able to source those midnight bronze ones.

I got mines from Buds as Well, Even my FFL Dealer said it was special because theirs does not look like the ones on Buds

The coating is garbage. I have holstered mine maybe 4 times and its already coming off. I dont care but for someone who does...thats the quality.
