Kirby Lore is so amazing. I hate the fact some people think Kirby games are so childish and friendly. Just like how Nintendo introduced Triple Deluxe. But then we discovered the true story about Sectonia and Taranza. It was really sad but interesting- just like Susie and Haltman
HAL Laboratory Inc. creates the games and stories, Nintendo publishes them. What did you expect? Nintendo to be good enough to create the Kirby of the Stars series? Well they are kind alright with stuff like Pikmin and Xenoblade Chronicles, but still.
To be fair, most people only buy the games because they're expecting a cute kid-friendly game, not because of the dark undertones in the series. It only makes sense to advertise them as such.
I still think that kirbygames are actually best enjoyed for their gameplay and cute nature. I once was actually really into the lore, but then I got more and more confirmation that what I built with the pieces that Hal gave us was completely false and I am overthinking everything because it is basically meaningless. Galacta knight is still supposed to exist somehow, yet he will never have any relevancy. Haltmanns soul is not deleted because the soulfights are noncanon and dedede never actually showed dark metaknight who's boss. And star allies is the most boring game ever because while it has a sad backstory, nothing interessting actually happens if we are to assume that only the mainstory is canon.
@@lpfan4491 Eh, I think it's safe to assume that Heroes in Another Dimension is canon as well, since it's quite different to most extra modes, and it's a lot more original. Ah, yes. My unscheduled dose of Kirby-induced depression. Also, we may see Susie again, but she likely won't be in an antagonistic role, unless Kirby really wants to poke his nonexistent nose into things that have no connection with him. Susie's not stupid. She knows how powerful Kirby truly is. I would be extremely shocked if she tried invading Popstar again.
Yeah, I definitely believe the Japanese version much more in Star Allies. It would explain why Susie is even on Popstar again and wants to defeat those of Jambastion in the first place--they are going against the harmony she desires. Susie is smart, she has seen the capabilities of Kirby, and would not mess with him or his planet again, it all adds up.
Plus in the end of the true arena during Nova's heart being destroyed you can hear one last scream from haltmann but it's very slowed down and distorted which literally means this man's soul has been erased from existence
Kirby lore is both depressing or terrifying; Families are torn apart, civilizations are brought to ruin and entire worlds are obliterated by otherworldly beings who either want to fulfill their own agenda or are just so eldritch and alien that they have none. And then there's VOID and Galacta Knight, who successfully turned this series into low-key cosmic horror.
5:08 just a little correction, it actually does. However, because Susie was already alive, the machine could not complete the wish, turning the error generated from the machine into a attack.
Maybe the error was under the fault of either the Haltman Works engineers who worked on Star Dream or the programmers who programmed it. If it really was perfect, it would've tried to find a way to recreate memories if a wish was already granted but the wisher forgot all about it.
Saddest character in kirby, truly amazing given the fact that on the outside it just looks like the cliche of the capitalistic asshole but when you dig deeper, it's just a poor guy who lost the one thing he cherished the most.
Tizo Epic gamer don’t forget that they only had to kill Sectonia cause HE gave Sectonia the mirror... maybe he doesn’t just miss her or feel sorry for her... maybe he also feels guilty cause none of it would’ve happened had he just not brought the mirror.
He does not have any hints towards him being the person who fucked up other than the change only happening after that event. Also, according to team kirby clash deluxe, he just has the ironic luck of always finding a mirror with dark mind inside of it.
Interesting how star dream became a mindless machine after Haltmann's soul was destroyed. Souls seem to have a special significance in Kirby. Unless you kill an enemies' soul, it does not stay dead. Now one person's soul was used, for a short time, to give Star Dream sentience. Makes me wonder what else you can do by burning a soul.
This was highly comprehensive, although I doubt Susie would replicate the mistakes her father had. At worst, she may lead a socialist inter-planetary regime where she "exterminates the uncivilized," but at best, the friend hearts thrown at her by Kirby may change her for the better. Besides, Pres. Parallel Susie is not the same as our base-universe Susie.
This should sum up the robobot armour pretty well: “Its energy signature far exceeds that of the Invader Armor, our combat mech. The nearly infinite power within this life-form is astounding. Calculating probability of survival... It doesn't look good.” - Star Dream (Robobot Armour)
Maybe Magolor is behind the whole thing. He seems to have a GREAT knowledge of Ancient Technology, and he said himself that he modified the Lor Starcutter. Maybe he gave Haltmann the Nova and Star Dream, along with bringing back Susie.
This has to be one of the *darkest* and *saddest* kirby stories ever. Like legit this one actually disturbing to me. The guy literally lost what he cares about the most because of his company. Sad story indeed.
Wait... *_Kirby_* has _Infinite Power?_ If he's *powerful* _enough_ to make a machine surpass it's original programming, then perhaps you should save a *_remaster_* of that *"What is Kirby Canon? - Kirby" Video* for the next *_BIG_* _Kirby Game_ that's coming.
I like to think that as an good-aligned eldritch being of sorts, Kirby has a way of sensing when people have a tragic backstory, and innately tries to comfort them and be their friend...the more tragic the fate, the more Kirby wants to befriend them. And I think it breaks his little heart when the only thing he can do is put them out of their misery. He successfully redeemed so many others: -King Dedede? Gradually reformed and became a hero in his own right. -Dark Matter? Part of it split off and became Gooey. -Void Termina? It's subtly implied that Kirby is a Void Termina born of positive energy and emotions, and the dark god understood what friendship was in its final moments. -Fecto Forgo? It became part of Elfilin. -Leongar? Redeemed. Twice. -Daroach? Wasn't bad, just corrupted by Dark Mind. -Claycia? Controlled by Dark Crafter. -Dyna Blade? Just wanted to take care of her babies. -Magalor? It took a while, but he became good. The only major ones Kirby probably had no thoughts of redeeming were Hyness, Necrodeus, Marx, Dark Meta Knight/Dark Mind, Drawcia, and Yin Yarn. But Sectonia and Haltmann, in his mind, might be his greatest failures.
"Why did I react such a terrible machine? Oh, I remember. I wanted to see *her* once more. How foolishness! I should know that no machine could make that *dream* come true..."
Wow, I knew that the guest star translation was different, but I didn't know that Susie said she wanted to (humbly) exterminate the uncivilized. That's pretty awesome actually, and it fits her character. Hopefully the translation team will improve next game, because they seemed to make more mistakes than usual with Star Allies.
From a previous remaster video, you have theorize that Susie did escape Another Dimension with Maglor. Could these event happen after Maglor's Boss fight as he was stuck between dimensions?
Magolor was sent to a world "beyond time and space" outside of Another Dimension after his defeat. There's no way Susie could have met him and escaped with him unless she somehow travelled to that same world.

Goku: I have the ability to increase my power at will and fight planet busters. Superman: I can move so fast my fist has infinite mass, I also fight planet busters. Kirby: I make robots happy. :)
This is just wishful thinking but while the English version of Susie’s “About” page is ominous, the Japanese version is a bit more hopeful. Maybe Susie genuinely wants to spread peace through out the galaxy and the “uncivilized savages” are similar foes Kirby deals with hence why she came back to Popstar in “Kirby: Star Allies”. Plus after seeing what Kirby can do, Susie probably wouldn’t go after Popstar again. And knowing Kirby, he doesn’t really spring into action unless Popstar is being attacked somehow. Side note: Pres. Susie isn’t even our Susie but rather a more “colder” alternative Susie. So that’s not really incriminating our Susie but that does lay out a foundation of maybe canon!Susie and President!Susie having a rivalry (like Meta Knight and Galactica Knight or Meta Knight and Dark!Meta Knight.)
I don't think the next main game will be announced until next year. If it's as great and ambitious as everyone wants it to be, then it's going to take significantly longer to make, and that's not even factoring this year's real-world issues impacting development.
Robobot is kinda the ultimate game. it took everything the series did in the past, did its own thing with it and then made a masterpiece of a contentpile with good storypacing and interessting ways to justify some of the rehashes it did do.
Well, a peakgame is still a peak. That it did not do much new stuff outside of having a 3d nova does not really matter for that. And considering Hal blew their chance of having a great transition to 3d on the mediocre thing that was blowout blast, I don't think I want them to do diffrent things for the sake of being diffrent.
I don’t care how badly the story is told. I don’t care if you can only fully experience it through pausing the game and through the dead social media that is Miiverse. Kirby: Planet Robobot has my favorite story in ALL of video gaming. PERIOD.
Did anyone else notice when dream soul os is summoning the parts of nova that got shot off in super star the portal used to summon them is a heart shape
@@Edgeperor I still don't understand why they didn't put all of that information in the game instead? They did it with the other past games, so what made them change their mind? I guess we'll never know
I feel we might get more lore in forgotten land. The little bits of lore found in forgotten lands demo. His company possibly was working alongside the beast corps to help create a world for the ancients
So Kirby is meant to be a kids game, and that’s what this lore is hard to find: Haltman experiment with a mother computer, his daughter goes missing, the computer slowly eats away at his memory, his daughter returns but he doesn’t even recognise her, he gets BETRAYED by his own daughter who accidentally turns him into star dream’s voice box, the computer decides it wants world domination as all computers do, haltman soul gets destroyed and Susie has no boss and no father. It’s like the taranza and sectonia incident, but the somehow made it worse!
In Star Dream Soul OS I don't necessarily believe that all of Haltmann was traced away since you still hear his screams and groans. Even when the heart shatters.
Imagine what happened if there was no trace of Haltmanns soul left to be purged . Star dream would be unbeatable. In soul os he was nearly done purging everything and the remaining vanished between destroying pillars and the heart exploding. But then again he lost sentience near the end.
Also don't forget that when Star Dream is in Phase 3, it attacks by counting down. Galactic Nova also counts down whenever it grants someone a wish. Since this is another Nova, that means that Star Dream might be trying to grant a wish. But whenever it finishes the count, it has a Fatal Error rather than granting a wish. Then, the whole thing loops. Haltmann wished for Susie to come back, even when she was back. The Fatal Errors, countdowns and Haltmann's wishes all but seem to confirm that *Star Dream is trying to wish for Susie to come back but it keeps failing because she's already back!*
I posted on miiverse on a theroy I have is that the big planet un the background during the first phase on star dream was Haltmann and Susie's home planet
Oh shit I just realized that the reason that robot guy who was a boss in Superstar ultra is in this game is bc Haltman took over Halcondra and that's y it's so mechanized. So that robot is Haltmans!!!
If anything, Haltmann could be an evolved human from Shiver Star, borrowing its technology along with Halcandra's to make his company. That's my guess: Haltmann as one of the people of science that influenced Egg Engines in return for their inspiration on him, warring with Hyness' Ancients. He could've been the one to mechanize Rock Star or find Pix there to build his Holo Defense API off of. Plus, the similar diamond in Sand Canyon could be, idk, a scout vessel to survey Popstar before the M.O.P. Yes, prosperity is the key mission, but Susie emphasizes the fortune of resources Popstar has that Haltmann can take. The Robobot Armour adapting to users seems very close to other Ancient artifacts making the most of _their_ wielders' powers. Case in point: The Star Rod's transformation into the Star Rod Hammer Dedede Custom. If Star Dream can fuse Haltmann's self into it, the Robobot Armour can most definitely be touched by Kirby's bravery. Speaking of, Haltmann loses his body in Phase 1. By Phase 2, his mind goes bye-bye. Phase 3/4 has what's left of Haltmann preventing the NOVA from either granting its own wish to kill all organic life, or a previous wish made by one of its ex-summoners. In fact, Haltmann's altered scream when NOVA awakens may hint that Star Dream is channeling Haltmann into the reception systems Kirby is shooting at, using Haltmann as a meat shield even before the True Arena. Soul OS Phase 1 completely overrides Haltmann, but his mere presence in the machine still subconsciously limits its power by 00.01%. In Phase 2, Haltmann's memories finally reunite to boost his soul, Star Dream unable to stop such due to treating wounds from Galacta that Kirby's assault reopened fresh. This time, Haltmann plans to stop Star Dream's wish in _Soul OS's_ NOVA phase. During Phase 3, Star Dream once again diverts all of Haltmann, this time into the Nucleus as Haltmann struggles to stay away from there. Being shot at doesn't help him keep his grip, though, and the diversion is successful. Phase 4 has Haltmann's soul being deleted by you, Star Dream locking it into place for a final try at killing him and breaking free, obtaining the 00.01%. Instead of that in Phase 5, when Star Dream has succeeded in killing Haltmann, it loses its own sanity given how closely he merged with him. Haltmann is claimed to be entirely destroyed for good, but Star Dream's death cry signifies that the Heart of what made Max Max had been learned and replicated by the once heartless machine, much like the Master Crown drawing on Magolor's ego, or the Robobot Armour drawing on Kirby's courage. Much like the former example, it can be said that when the Wishgranter died, then so did too the Wishgiver.

Dr. Robotnik's Halacandrian counterpart from Another Dimension?
When i defeated Heart of Nova i was horrified but at the same time i was criying
:c
Seeing another Nova had me absolutely ecstatic, It was by far my personal highlights of the game
Alexa this backstory is so sad, play despacito
New context!
It's been two years since Star Allies! Think a new game will be announced soon?
I don't think the next main game will be announced until next year. If it's as great and ambitious as everyone wants it to be, then it's going to take significantly longer to make, and that's not even factoring this year's real-world issues impacting development.
Well on twitter Hal has discussing about making the ultimate game for Kirby. If we get lucky they could announced new trailer in the rest of this year
Robobot is kinda the ultimate game. it took everything the series did in the past, did its own thing with it and then made a masterpiece of a contentpile with good storypacing and interessting ways to justify some of the rehashes it did do.
LPFan it was good, but it was more an improvement on the Return to Dreamland formula than anything else
Susie is kinda scary
lol says after susie witnessed kirby's power she had a plan based on it all along.
Keep up with the What is kirby Canon series its great!
Oh my gosh, this video was SO good, yet SO depressing. WHAT A ROLLERCOASTER!
YES MORE KIRBY CANON
I’m curious what new lore has been uncovered! No matter what I’m sure it will be interesting thougj
I don’t care how badly the story is told. I don’t care if you can only fully experience it through pausing the game and through the dead social media that is Miiverse.
Kirby: Planet Robobot has my favorite story in ALL of video gaming. PERIOD.
It's waiting time
Did anyone else notice when dream soul os is summoning the parts of nova that got shot off in super star the portal used to summon them is a heart shape

(To be honest, i don't remember seeing you before, but still ! Ok. yeah, i am a big no brainer, sorry...)
all the present tence stuff about Star dream and Haltmann would be past tense since you know...Kirby kinda blew them up
*epic* Also for the people on the stream...
*THE END V5*
Can’t get enough of these😁
It's pretty remarkable how on the nose Haltmann is as a metaphor for colonialism and capitalism.
This was AWESOME
Ah yes, I liked this game's story.
I like the story, but like Meteorz, I don't like how they explained it
GoldWheels yeah, I like the idea of optional lore, but they did too much via Miiverse
@@Edgeperor I still don't understand why they didn't put all of that information in the game instead? They did it with the other past games, so what made them change their mind?
I guess we'll never know
excellent video, thankss
NOOOOOOO! I was out shopping when this premiered...
Bro this is making me cry... Poor Susie
I feel we might get more lore in forgotten land. The little bits of lore found in forgotten lands demo. His company possibly was working alongside the beast corps to help create a world for the ancients
Well, your guess was a little ways off.... but we sure did get some juicy lore. :D
for Planet Robobot, does anyone else see this final boss as being similar to one of the last bosses in Star Fox 64?
So Kirby is meant to be a kids game, and that’s what this lore is hard to find: Haltman experiment with a mother computer, his daughter goes missing, the computer slowly eats away at his memory, his daughter returns but he doesn’t even recognise her, he gets BETRAYED by his own daughter who accidentally turns him into star dream’s voice box, the computer decides it wants world domination as all computers do, haltman soul gets destroyed and Susie has no boss and no father. It’s like the taranza and sectonia incident, but the somehow made it worse!
I can't wait
Shiver star the result of necrodeus destroying the light and haltman saying, FREE REAL ESTATE and making factories.
In Star Dream Soul OS I don't necessarily believe that all of Haltmann was traced away since you still hear his screams and groans. Even when the heart shatters.
The shattering heart scream was Haltmann's soul screaming in agony as it fades out for eternity.
Imagine what happened if there was no trace of Haltmanns soul left to be purged . Star dream would be unbeatable. In soul os he was nearly done purging everything and the remaining vanished between destroying pillars and the heart exploding. But then again he lost sentience near the end.
Not sure if this is relevant, but in Star Allies news, it was stated that Kirby had a tough time taking down Susie’s mech.
A part of me hopes that all dream friends are canon because I really hope that Susie won't share her father's fate
If a space shuttle launches it's moving pretty fast, but getting out of the atmosphere can take a bit. Considering it's very far up
I think they purposefully made Susie's ending ambiguous.
I posted on miiverse on a theroy I have is that the big planet un the background during the first phase on star dream was Haltmann and Susie's home planet
YES

The bit about Star Dream/ the Robobot Armor being good or evil based on the emotions of their master really reminded me of Void.
Oh shit I just realized that the reason that robot guy who was a boss in Superstar ultra is in this game is bc Haltman took over Halcondra and that's y it's so mechanized. So that robot is Haltmans!!!
10:27 I can’t find this article anywhere in the Nintendo Switch News! Did it get deleted?
Probably, they delete those posts over time. Which is REALLY annoying.
I hate that.
