talking about the hardcore conversation in the middle of this video, i think making the game harder is just a terrible idea. both for player retention and personal enjoyment. Most modern deepwoken players like the game as it is now, and its pretty much objectively true an easier game leads to more players. But also, in my personal opinion, if the game was made more difficult it would also have to be made more fun. I wouldnt mind a harder game if progressing was actually fun. I DREAD starting a new build, because its just an hour of two or boredom followed by even more boring fetch quests of leveling mantras, getting master armor, getting murmur, getting bell. If all of this would be fun, it would be much easier to be made closer to an actual rouge like. The reason rougelikes are fun is because progression is enjoyable, you dont die and instantly get mad, you die and get excited to start again.
I agree that the main gameplay loop is very boring, and unfortunately they haven't really made the whole permadeath feature really fun at all. Just tedious and annoyingly upsetting.

I know how to play Deepwoken already and I wanna say that you should include the server information in the video. You can explain to beginners what all that means. You should also have the blood bar, incombat skull, notes, and knowledge. You need to explain mechanics and you cannot explain mechanics that you purposefully left out of the frame.
