you just helped me fixing a printer I found in a dumpster (clx-3185fn) it cost me $0 and it's working perfectly now; a piece of paper was stuck inside the fuser. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for your excellent video! Repairing my fuser unit thanks to your video. One question, the orange fuser roller and the plastic bushings needs a high temperature ~200 o C grease to work. Can you recommend a high temperature grease that works with the fuser roller and the plastic bushings?
@@viandant5 Thank you for your response to my message! The problem is that any "high temperature grease" usually has a maximum working temperature around 175 o C, and that they may be liquefied at that temperature. And some grease destroys plastic. So I am guessing Samsung is using some really special grease to make these plastic bushings work.
@@viandant5 Thank you for your greate tutorial! I managed to get my 10 year old CLP-325 working again with a new fuser roller. Using CRC Silicongrease, an automotive product to the plastic bearings.
My laserjet 5550 has just the black cartridge printing out of alignment horizontally and I cna't figure it out. I've tried running the calibration many times, I've tried clearing the disk, reinstalling firmware, nvram init, I've replaced the cartridge that has the drum inside. I'm perplexed because CMY are still in alignment and its otherwise printing good. Have you ever seen anything like this?
@@viandant5 Yes I've tried 3 different black cartridges and all have given me the same result. I'm guessing the CPR sensor is bad because in the log it gives multiple CPR sensor out of range and halftones out of range errors and I verified connections
In this channel there is a video showing the removing of the unit but you only need to remove it, nothing else. probably there is something wrong inside the printer
Thank you very much for this video! It was really great in helping me disassembling a fuser from a CLX-3180 that was jammed with paper. I have one question: after reassembling the printer, the error U1-2112 (thermistor/fuser issues), went away, however a new error popped out: A3-3311 (connection to SMTP server), provided that I use the printer locally, not connected to any network, I'm unable to reset it. Do you have any idea/suggestion? Thanks in advance!
@@viandant5 ok, that was a long shot, I know, and I'm sorry to keep bothering you but you're so knowledgeable about these units, it's possible that mine could have some issues with the SMPS, do you know what is the expected AC voltage that a fuser should have from the SMPS for proper working? The service manual is not clear on that...
Grazie in anticipo

what do the light blue tabs do on the fuser?
what is the light blue tabs? The green levers are there to help remove the jammed paper

I've have no specific brand, the important thing is that is is specifically made for high temperatures

No but did you try to change the black cartridge? it could be simply defective

It could be a sensor
