What troubles me is some of the parental reactions. On the one hand, it was their children who died which must have affected them greatly, on the other, those same children were making an important contribution to the family's financial well being which would have been lost after the reforms. How moral is a society that forces many parents to send their children into dangerous work just to survive, when the privileged minority is sending theirs to school?
