      @Jaya4life8565 it maybe due to the makeup, probably to “mature” her because she’s a bride I’ve seen a lot of child brides that are often times caked in makeup because they want them to look mature which is disturbing

    I find it so interesting that her name is "Lily".
    She is, quite literally, the flower girl. It's what she was meant to be that day, and she is occupying a spot different from hers.

    • @raelol123
      @raelol123 5 months ago +77

      @shayshay9764 I think they mean it in and a more symbolic way. Lily itself is a flower and you can see that the girl is a young child and her name is Lily. Hence her role in the wedding should be a flower girl, but the devastating reality is that she is the bride.

    My best friend in high school was forced by her father to marry at the age of 15 after he arranged it with the guys father. He never let her date anyone but this guy. He was truly the most unattractive, greasy, smelly guy with rotted teeth, bad breath, a poor attitude, and coke bottle glasses, and treated her like a servant. He never would have married anyone if his father hadn’t bought her. After 10 years with him she left him, and for the first time in her life married the love of her life.

Most of em are very beautiful from a very young age and have handsome long term bfs. They were forced to break up with their bf as well. They all very ashamed and never keep in contact with any of us after the marriage and never go back to school either. I know some of em are divorced now. Sad world we live in.

I don't care if it's a cultural, religious, whatever tf they want to call it, these are CHILDREN. They are still growing up, mentally emotionally and physically, and these people think they're ready to be married? Absolutely disgusting.

Just as we say the same about 13-14 year olds today. That is how old Romeo and Juliet were hundreds of years ago.

    My experience was I coukd hear people talking to me. It made me feel no reaction or need to respond to them. I was disconnected from my brain. So I didn't think in words or recognise their meanings. I was relieved to come back. Saying my whole name was the first thing I heard that I recognised. And I came to from there.

It was to a boy a few years older so basically they were kids. Who didn’t get along and so separated shortly after. Because this isnt our culture nor do we empower children being married but it's crazy the difference in outrage for child marriage but not child castration and genital mutilation for a mental illness. But I'll stay on topic. Here's the deal. I've never met a single American forced into a marriage nor anyone married before 18. This isn't our normal. But it's funny how y'all criticize the USA as a whole over some TV show while I'm sure y'all advocate for us to take in immigrants from said countries that marry children and/or have arranged marriage. Since y'all think every culture is superior to ours and deserves to be protected, y'all don't ask them to assimilate when they come here. So when this does become normal don't blame Americans. Blame the people who brought this in and defended it because criticizing other cultures or preferring yours stays the majority is unacceptable stance to have here. We must allow this third world cultural enrichment. Or are y'all against Muslim immigrants now? Because Iran approved marriage of 9 year olds. They also have a festival where the grape little boys but we allow them in America by the millions. You want America to be better and have better culture? Stop bringing in the bad. But of course you can't say which is bad because that would be mean, so let's sacrifice America and American lives pretending all these countries are great and should be welcomed. Suicidal empathy will be the death of us.

      @nikkonikkoshite I mean, look at the comment, though. This person has said they wouldn't get their kid married before eighteen 'even if she was pregnant'. If she's seventeen and pregnant, surely it makes sense for her to marry the father? What is the magical change that happens between her last day of being seventeen and her first day of being eighteen that means she can't get married one day before her birthday? If she's pregnant due to voluntary actions, then she's already doing THE most adult thing...
      Also, I am a girl and under eighteen (and only interested in guys my age or older), so in case you want to redirect your accusations towards me, you can't. And I can very confidently say I truly believe I could've got married at fifteen and done well (and it's not from my parents convincing me of anything, because they don't want me married even when I'm eighteen).

    My parents gave me two choices. Marriage or break up with my boyfriend. They used religion as the ground for the ultimatem. I'd already seen it happen to my first cousin. She went into depression, got really over weight and ended up marrying some guy from the only place she was allowed to go (church) just to escape her house. Neither she or I was 18 at the alter. Today we are both happily divorced.

      Once a baby comes into the picture everything changes. If he gave you the ultimatum if you weren't preggo then it's not right, if he gave you the ultimatum while you were preggo then he's correct. Children need a cohesive household to become responsible adults.

    • @wolf_paw
      @wolf_paw 11 months ago +112

      @scopscorpion absolutely no. Pregnancy has nothing to do with marriage. Children don't need cohesive household, they need loving and supportive one, where parents don't constantly argue or even something worse (like domestic abuse). Children need to grow up in happy and steady environment, doesn't matter if this environment is created by parents, single parent, grandparents or adoptive parents.

    • @TheMoons_Editss

      @jagirl966 Year ago

      @heavencanwaite parents that are so greedy they will happily give their children to pedos. There is no law against children getting married to adults, as long as the parents consent to it. I remember an article about child marriages and I think the youngest bride was only 4 and the groom was 60-70. Parents were desperate/greedy for money and agreed to allow their preschooler to get married and the husband would not permit her to continue school. 20 years later when the husband died, the now adult wife was forced to go looking for work with only a preschool education and 3 kids she was forced to have before she was 16.
      When the children do want to break free, they are then returned to their spouses. There are cases where the adult is abusive to their child bride/groom and the police are forced to return them to the abusers because they are the child's legal guardian.
      Many child brides and grooms can be divorced from their spouse when they became "too old" for them. When they are free, they may have no support and depending on their education level, may not be able to get a job.
      Even harder on them if the girls are forced to get pregnant and can be kicked out with the kids, if the husband chooses. Or a child is forced to become a mother/father to their spouse's children that maybe the same age or just barely younger than them. If they aren't already younger than the spouse's children.

    "Child marriage is legal in almost every state, despite the fact that nearly every state technically prohibits people younger than 18 from marrying. However, each state has exceptions to these laws. For example, in at least 36 states, minors can marry with judicial consent, and in 34 states, 16- and 17-year-olds can marry with their parents' permission. Three states, Massachusetts, California and New Hampshire, allow 12- and 13-year- old girls respectively and 14-year-old boys to marry with parental and judicial permission."

      Meanwhile republican lawmakers keep voting against banning child marriage.
      Not to mention Texas had the highest number of child marriages in an 18 year period.

    Could they um… provided female carers to female patients ESPECIALLY when they suspect trauma? You wouldn’t know how many girls and women have been assaulted or cooerced or intimidated to the point of being unknowingly unable to interact with men. They just show a survival respons and detatch from reality. Untill the state of the world changes, this should be policy. Maybe not in this instance but in reality.

I've seen some people do similar things in real life, even pushing victims into being gaslighted, and it still makes me sick😰😰

    • @BloodyBay

      I know that we here in the States have some really bizarre laws in the books because they were written into law a century or two back when people were super-religious or otherwise ignorant - or the times were just plain different and those laws were the products of those times - and no one ever bothered to repeal those weird laws....like how you can go to jail for eating ice cream in public in Some Old Small Town, Some State on a Sunday...or how you can *_still_* be legally executed by hanging for stealing a man's hat in Montana because that law goes back to our cowboy days when a man used his hat for everything down to collecting water and watering his horse, so stealing his hat was tantamount to killing him yourself.
      So yeah, a century or three later and we *_still_* have laws that are in desperate need of an overhaul, including the laws allowing child-to-tween marriage. We're _not losing entire generations of kids to massive Cholera outbreaks or Apache attacks_ anymore! We don't need to pass our genes on to the next generation by Age 14 because the Grim Reaper is standing between half of us and Age 15 anymore. So we're not going to go extinct if we follow Australia's lead and block people under Age 18 from getting married, methinks. 🤔
