Agree with everything you said. Experimentation, endless practice and learning from other artists works for me.

We must always remember to give ourselves grace. Much like when you’re teaching a young child how to read, you’d be patient and embrace them. Everybody’s journey is unique to the artist 😊🫶🏻💕

I just started making art work 3 months ago and I didnt expect that my art work can see different in others people eyes. So, for me "my art work is not really good" but for some people they are good. So, I conclude that art is art and everyone can see it from different point of view. Thank You for creating this video, I just found your channel last week in tittle "Don't give up". Now, I do agree with you "Embrace the failure", keep improving and do it because you love it and time seems flow so fast. Art can define who I am, understanding better my self and can express something that I can't say in words.

In addition, future you will see your art differently (and usually more kindly) than current you. Six months, a year, five years from now you will see it very different.

When you start painting, it's all about learning the techniques. I went to art school nowadays you have you tube. You can also help in the studio of a preferably old artist, then you learn the most. I'm older but never met anyone who said I want to learn from you. Too bad. After learning the techniques, work is work and more work. Then you forget the technique and develop your own style. Your own style is a mix of what is in you mixed with technique. After that you can do two things to be successful. Find a wealthy partner or wait for luck to come your way, The best chance of luck is going out with your art. So show it.

I loved your analogy, Klee! When you love what you're doing, you are so hyper focused and fixated. At the end of the day,
art is essentially therapy and is part of us. When we create based on others' expectations and what we should be doing, it takes the joy out of it. People have a tendency to see art from logical lenses and that we need to see it as another product, taking the emotional elements out of it. When you love art, you will see the ugly stages as just part of the process and push through it to its beautiful glory.

Flip it upside down: Ignore the traditional meaning of failure and see it instead as opportunity. Every failure of your life is the opportunity for learning and growth. I'm excited when something fails because I know that my work and art business will improve because of the failure. Go boldly and bravely into the studio you awesome artists and create !!

Be prolific. That's advice I would give. If you don't like it get gesso of other primer and paint over it. Cut tear it up and save it for a different project . •Sometimes use craft sticks to mix paint.
•I can't bear to throw away art leftovers. Those multicolored sticks along with old (ugly painting) hardboard surface , metal leafing, old 1"x1"canvas squares, and glue . I made a abstract artwork. Imo came out as a fantastic collage .

Totally agree! Again you got to the pount Rafi ❤you know what? I was also thinking that way when i started my art business 3 years ago that making art for what people like was actually making me mire sad than ever and i was not happy doing.
All along those years i learned so much about myself as an artist ..
I realised that there are people or clients out there for every type of Art and this is so true!
Now i draw what i love to draw and iam in grace with my Artwork, we bith connected and this is probably the key to perform my own craft and be able to find my audience !
Mych love both, you guys are true Artist motivator !
    Much live from France 🇨🇵🇨🇵

I just sent this to a friend of mine..we have this conversation ALL the time..how she expects to do whatever perfectly and when she doesn’t gets discouraged, and then quits. I’m always telling her I’ve been doing this for a very long time and still create poo sometimes, especially when I’m experimenting with something new. But I keep at it, I can’t imagine not making things.

Most of us painters use gallery wrapped canvas and cradled panels. So as a artist we don't have to frame it. The placement of signature can be a issue, if the art buyer wants to frame it. Even with drawings and watercolors . So I usually give about a 1/4" or more from the edge for my signature . For matting and framing ease. Or I like to incorporate into the composition of the artwork.🖼️

As usual, your advice is so relevant. I've made a painting that's not finished to how I envisage. My brother said, "Leave it, or you'll stuff it up". I want to keep going. It's like, 'Well, you buy it as is'. I know there's the concept of knowing when to stop, but I really want to see if it works and to be me. I feel that it's not finished.

I so agree with you. I believe as artists we need to challenge ourselves to become better artists but at the same time with each piece ask yourself "what can I learn from what I just created". Also we need to learn to step outside the box and not become complacent because then we get bored. Again I agree with you both! Love videos!

So for the time being I am happy to suck and will just keep at it until I don't.

Another artist tip I recommend . Don't rinse you paint brushes in your coffee. I recommend a covered beverage container. Also keep your finished art work away from the paint splash zone.

Maaaaan, I needed to hear this SO BAD! I just took a Portraiture course. B4 I took the course, I was clueless on how to make a face I coukd be satisfied with ~ not even a decent cartoony one. A month & 1/2 in & I’m making these beautiful pieces of art. & I’m sitting here, exhausted from all my hard work, annoyed because I’m not capturing exact likeness. So I put the pencil down & haven’t gotten back to it in about a month. “AVOIDING” going thru all that work & again not capturing the likeness. You two just gave me the push I needed to get back to it. SO WHAT if I don’t capture the likeness right away. I have to practice just like everybody else. So, if I want to own this skill, I might as well get over myself & get back to it! This day will not end without me picking up that pencil & sketchbook, and (almost) every day forward. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU SO MUCH!❤️❤️😁 I need to watch this every day! & YES! If I wasn’t concerned about people criticizing the “likeness” of my subject, I would have been jumping for joy at the amazing piece I created. *Jumping now’*❤️❤️❤️😁😁😁

@@NickLMears Yes. Likenesses are hard. I’ve been doing research on getting things more exact. But yes, I did go & work on something else. I’m working on this bellydancer. Haha It’s not easier. I should actually try something easier. That’s GREAT advice. Thanks for the input. I appreciate the encouragement.❤️😁
