Very helpful for picking an army, just starting in Infinity myself. At the time of watching this video I just played a game with the OSS and found they weren't "in your face enough" for my play style. JSA seems like it would be a great fit. All of these videos are excellent overviews, keep up the good work.
I havent ever played the game but if i did I would play JSA. My favorite model is the Daiyokai Dengekitai, my second fav is the Tanko with the classic squished-cone-shaped sunhat. Really hear the love for Oniwaban Shinobu Kitsune and makes me want to play her and make plans for her. Cool video.
havent finished watching yet but love the channel, just some feedback but I think the audio mixing of the music in the intro is off, was hard for me to have it loud enough to hear you two without the music being too loud for me. Cheers
Please, many of us truly appreciate the Army Builder Briefing for Sectorials and Factions... In particular, Shasvastii and JSA could be pretty useful...
I'll have to try it out sometime! I can certainly see that extra Order coming in handy in the more chaotic situations the game tends to evolve into. Part of the beauty of Infinity: it's not just about what a unit looks like "on paper", you've got to "play the table" :D
Are you kidding? Domaru Lt Spitfire is like top-3 worst pieces in the army, due it's huge cost for a bland no-modifiers BS-12 HI that wants to be close and personal but can't because it's carrying a medium-long range gun. Have you tried using: - Kempeitai MSV2 - Karakuri Mk12 - Dayokai (both Multimarksman or Red Fury) - Ryuken-9 (both HRL or SMG) which are all much, MUCH better at the shooting job than the Domaru Spitfire?
@@PaulTightbowFirellonthose are all great guns...none of which do fhe most important parts of the domaru spitfire lt (being a durable lt with a bonus lt order and a back up gun for when your main strikers drop). What you listed are the main gun platforms in the army, None of which can be lts (you also didn't list the most obvious gun comparison to the domaru, the rui shi). Infinity is a resource game, and the domaru lt let's you have more of the most important resource, orders.
@@obyiscushobbyandgaming look, you kinda have to have a Dayiokai if you want to use that extra Lt order efficiently. More so, these two guys are likely to end up in the same samurai core link, wielding very similar guns. Is it really worth the investment of 2.5 SWC and 86 points to just have an aggressive backup Lt? May I ask, whom exactly that Domaru Lt is supposed to handle by the end of the game? Definitely not mimetic skirmishers or actually potent gunners. Why won't you have a just as bulky regular Domaru Lt (or heck, Neko Lt) instead that costs 16 points less for 1 less Lt order and a Spitfire that's unlikely to be used on this platform? And if you want that extra gun on BS12 so bad, why not take MSV2 one? You've mentioned Rui Shi - yes, you can take that too, and it would be a much more efficient expenditure of points than Domaru Spitfire. Concluding, I would like to point out: just because you have a good gun in your hands doesn't mean you're capable at shooting it, Keisotsu HMG and Domaru Spitfire are the most obvious examples. Don't take them just because you can.
Did we fail to mention this? I thought I said something about laughing off Missile AROs... :D In any case, I doubt anyone who goes against them will forget any time soon!
IGNORE THE KUROSHI RIDER LIEUTENANT PROFILE?! SIR! I think I've taken Kuroshi Rider Lt more than any other mini in the game. Impetuous + Lt order to get up the board with her own smoke or, better, supported by Yojimbo's better smoke, and if your opponent has a route into their backfield that isn't guarded by MSV she will make a mess. I'd almost always take a Kempei CoC anyway for backfield duties, so ultimately you lose very little. If you can fit the Daiyokai in there too you can even continue to use your Lt order past turn 1 or 2 where you are expecting her to die. Is she going to make it until turn 3? Not unless it took a while to stomp the opponent's MSV, but if she's done her job properly, she doesn't need to.
Kuroshi Rider, unfortunately, is still a very underwhelming profile, mostly due to its high cost and a low accuracy on the smoke grenade launcher nowadays. She is kind of a jack-of-all-trades, but she's expensive for that and is not particularly impressive at any of her jobs, be it shooting, close combat, pressing buttons or providing the smoke coverage. If you want a biker and Yojimbo isn't cutting it for you somehow, take Aragoto Spitfire instead, it will do much better than Kuroshi shooting OR Aragoto Killer Hacker, if you just want a fast specialist. Heck, if you want a midfield specialist, why not go with Ninja Killer Hacker / Ryuken-9 Killer Hacker? If you really want to spend your Lt order (which I won't advise in JSA, sadly), use O-Yoroi, Shinobu, maybe a lone Domaru instead of Kuroshi, imho.
Note:
As many have noted, there are many bikes in the game that don't have smoke. I totally missed that when editing, sorry!

can't agree more with all the others, this overview was much needed and is more so appreciated.
Would love to see an updated video on JSA since the Fireteam changes. Seems like their choices got changed quite a bit

Yesss was waiting for a new episode
Still undefeated with this army
Very interesting video... Looking forward for some list example
Glad you liked it! Would a full video be helpful, to explain some sample compositions?
Absolutely! I'm a JSA player but not so expert... So... Your valuable video will be really helpful

Rikugun shoi is second lieutenant in the imperial japanese army from ww2

Can the Lu Duan deploy without using its holoechos? Because I think that would give away the fake Kuroshi Rider trick if there were three of her.
Holoprojector has the Optional tag in the rules, so it *can* be deployed without the echoes!

@@ConciliumWatch I hadn’t noticed that. That makes a lot more sense, thank you.
I'm surprised that there wasn't a ton of love for the domaru lt spitfire. I don't think I've seen a successful JSA list without it in N4.
I agree that it's a great profile!
