I honestly love the gentle weird core vibes, it's like cottage core horror it's amazing
It really feels like the horror aspect of portals brought into the dollhouse era with a little splash of religious themes(to me anyway). I know portals didn't feel horrory at all but if you read the descriptions for some of the creature's story there was some horror elements.I don't remember where the descriptions were but there was some stuff about the creature hiding in darkness and eating people if I remember right, it gave Boogeyman vibes lol

@haniellucas8272 It was a message from a phone number you could text when Portals came out. There were posters around some cities with a picture of the Creature and a phone number. The text was a chain message basically saying to send the album to 10 people or Crybaby/the Creature will kill you.

yeah, it feels liek crybaby, somehow. Similar vintage vibes, in a way. especially the visual homage to Mel's earlier album covers with the houses that the lady in the white heels stepped on. Very cool stuff.

Not only the cover but also the synchrony and beats are almost the same as Carousels Teacher's pet and Pluto because she always put at least one song in her albums related to the others deliberately
Since this is a Dystopia themed album, maybe this is trying to say that what once was Crybaby’s world (when she was alive) is now in ruins and in conflict, and Circle, the new main character, is living in this conflicted time period

me too. I love the uncanny valley. It is one of my special interests. 💕 love the idea of being able to act off in a way that people subconsciously perceive as inhumane. I hope someday I am able to achieve that affect through my acting, and make art that people consider uncanny. I just love the idea of being able to unsettle people through my creations. Melanie's art has that affect on people, and it is one of the reasons i connect to her as an artist. 💕
