Not really. Your government, my government, any western government, is the political arm of the business world. Their job, since 1987, has been to turn public money into private money. The politicians steer the money into the hands of wealthy people - the business class. They turn your work into someone else's wealth. Politicians and wealthy people might be one and the same, but not necessarily, and the money isn't given to themselves in such a blatant and direct way as you seem to think.
