    Poor grandma was so sweet. If she was dui they’d need to inventory car most the time and if the grandma drove her car alone it would just be her car being left on the street when she moved the other. Only sympathy I have is that girl probably actually thought she had a license. Court can be confusing sometimes. Driving drunk is senseless though

  • @apg4gearhead
    @apg4gearhead 12 дней назад +13

    I'm not an american so i don't really understand their system, however it also confuses me that her license was "reinstated" the day after it was revoked, but its not valid??? If its reinstated why isn't it valid?

    • @ThePedro8161
      @ThePedro8161 12 дней назад +9

      It means she has the ability to go to the department of motor vehicles (DMV) and get a new license. She'd have to fill out some paperwork and then she'd receive a paper copy of her license to keep with her until the card comes in the mail. Clearly she did not get a new license if all she received was a state ID card so I don't know what she's on about. Anyways, if you want to think of it this way her driving privileges were revoked but then the privileges were reinstated the next day, not the license. It's very clear on the suspension paperwork you get at the time the suspension was issued that when it's over you have to get another license, though watching this I'm not sure if she bothered to read it.

    • @hugekozaky7923
      @hugekozaky7923 12 дней назад +12

      It is scattered through the multiple explanations: What she appears to have reinstated was her ID card. Not her drivers license. Now we can't say for sure exactly what happened there, but my sympathy to her was nonexistent because she is clearly drunk. They never even got to the DUI Procedure because she didn't appear to have a license to begin with.

    • @teunvanderwal646
      @teunvanderwal646 12 дней назад +1

      she was allowed to get a drivers license but you dont just get it for free, if your drivers license was taken then you need to buy one when youre allowed again. this is not an american thing, im not american either but im pretty sure this is in every country. Being allowed to have a drivers license doesnt mean you have one.

    • @apg4gearhead
      @apg4gearhead 12 дней назад +3

      @ It sounds like something comparable to my countrys system. She did however seem like she was genuinely trying to do right by going to court. She was however not smart enough to get it right. She should have gone along with the traffic stop either way and taken care of the ticket in court later. I would also praise myself lucky that all i got was a ticket for no license if i got pulled over while driving under the influence of alcohol. I thank you for explaining the process to me!

      I guess it is just standard system but obscured by big words.
      From what I understand it's the same in my country:

Second, I've been a troubled young adult, trying to get by, I got myself in trouble, had to pay fines, etc. Not once did it "screw" me, and I was having a hard time getting by. The narrative that people are so broke they can't survive is ridiculous. People aren't working multiple jobs, long shifts, and not able to support themselves. My friend is a way better example than me, he was making significantly less than me and still paying his bills and going out of the country once a year. He's ridiculously frugal and I don't expect people to be like that, but it just shows that if you can't get by, there's a problem with what you're doing.

Also your right to a lawyer is before questioning when under arrest, and for arguing your case in court, not for reading a sentence to you off a piece of paper during a traffic stop. This is also not an “American” thing, these types of policies are regular across Canada and EU countries as well.

    She seemed like she was having everything going wrong - she seemed cooperative and logical and was asking reasonable questions --This cop was like a brick wall, says he wants to go home but escalates the issue at every turn. She was actually offering some reasonable solutions that could have been accommodated but this guy was shutting her down without any thought or consideration. Obviously making her more and more agitated. This guy did not act human, gave the other cops a bad impression of her and they walked in with their guards up and very confrontational. Push them to their limits and then stack charges. Since the court date was so recent, is it not possible the system is not updated?

    Honestly, this is a double a hole situation… it seems like she’s literally right in front of her house, the cop could 100% throw her a bone… easily. However, she is driving on a suspended license… whether or not she’s intoxicated who knows, if it was of concern, cops shouldve done tests. Now, the system is pretty stupid. She can’t drive not because the state thinks she’s untrustworthy, bad driver, doesn’t know how to drive ect ect… but because she’s hasn’t given them $15 to get a new license…

      @@blindi6326 the officer has no reason to force her out of the car and have it towed. It's not a criminal act to drive a vehicle with no license as long as you aren't driving dangerously. It's a civil issue. The officer in the video clearly should have given her the ticket and fucked off. Instead, he escalated it on purpose acting like he was going to tow her car, hence him asking over and over for her to call someone when in fact she didn't need to. This is why they act like this, because people like you lick their boots and thank them for harassing poor people

      Theyre not allowed to let you go if you have no license, the police officer could lose his job if he did that because hes going against department policy. If you want police to be police they cant just decide when to not follow rules. Thats why he wanted her to call someone else to get it.
