I have the same issue with my Sharp MD-X5. Plays fine, goes through the record process, but won’t write the TOC. Maybe something to do with the magnetic write head not properly contacting the disc?
I like the 155 deck series (they're so small, and twice it eluded me locally) but that Onkyo looks good, the left justified disc slot is fine by me. The contacts looks so clean and like new too. AMCS is supposed to be Automatic Music Control System. The issue is likely the laser not able to get up to the curie point. That's happening to my n9tx, erases discs but can't write anything.
Yes, that makes sense, thanks. I recently (and finally) found a decent INTEC155 receiver to go with my other INTEC155 components and shall be making a video about it soon.
There should be a built-in battery what finishes the recording off never worked on this model so cannot help you any more than this

That would make sense but I’m really not sure about these things. If that’s the case, I wonder if a physical adjustment may be possible to fix it.
@@hifi-lofi Sometimes cleaning the head and laser will work. It worked on my Sony MDS-JE500. I'm sure this Onkyo has a Sony transport.

1995-2001 and it has no md lp
