This is a good video, but I have a major grumble (one I see this in every medic using a direct ophthalmoscope). You are miles too far from the patient's eye to get a good view. Essentially ophthalmoscopy is like trying to draw a picture of a ballroom from peeking through the keyhole - the closer you are to the keyhole, the wider the view. It is exactly the same principle with direct ophthalmoscopy. A good tip is to place 2 fingers laterally against the patient's brow and then lean your forehead against your fingers when using the scope. You'll be amazed how much more you will see compared to when you are 30cm away from the eye!

How intense should be the light of an ophthalmoscope in average? I have a model (riester pen-scope) where light intensity can not be adjusted, is that normal?
    Thanks,
