- Great pictures and videos of John McIsaac's Bahia homebuilt 12' [3.7 M] Mini-Panga boat. It shows how he constructed it and its unique wheeled loading system that he can load it into the back of his truck.

Thanks Jeff! Great video. Just wanted to mention that the outboard is actually 9.9, not really a huge difference. It gets the boat up to 36km/h (19.4 knots) at full throttle with one person in the boat. It's a fantastic little boat, and will be seeing a lot of use.
Glad you commented John!
John, that little thing came out awesome. Smiles per gallon baby!!!
I never realized that Pangas were an offshore boat. Maybe one day you could do a video explaining the difference between offshore and inland boat designs.
John, that's a great looking build. It's inspirational to see the completed project look so good. Thanks for sharing.
Jeff, thanks for the fantastic designs.
Thank Jeff and John for sharing.
Hi Jeff;
Thanks for sharing John's clever ideas. I appreciate that you appreciate us as builders/sailors and not just paying customers...Fair winds!
Thank you Jeff and Mr. MacIsaac for sharing this. Another successful build and nice looking boat.
I loved the wheels and your design too.
With a hull weight of just 77 kilograms the wheels make a lot of sense. And it's a framed vee hull boat so it's going to handle a beating and give a relatively smoother ride in choppy water and the lines look great. Actually, my problem with Jeff's boat is he has so many awesome boat plans that I spent hours and hours comparing the free study plans but can't settle on just one boat. However the Bahia is looking like the winner.
Looks like the plywood used is just the regular home construction? I guess the fibreglass takes care of the water intrusion
Nice panga , thanks for your video
Thanks. Did Mr. MacIsaac’s fine looking boat require a transition joint?
Where and how do we get plans now for Bahia now that mr Spira is No longer with us…
Good Job! From experience I can say, pays to have plans and an a competent designer. It might take 5 times longer, of thinking time , than the actual work involved.
I think that's true but you learn a lot more when trying to design your own boat. I like Jeff's plans but here in Indonesia boat ramps aren't common so I has to think outside the box to come up with a boat that can be launched from the beach but with a small enough motor to be easily removed and stored between fishing trips, which is what traditional fishermen do here. I watched thousands of hours of boat building videos and have studied dozens of plans including Jeff's and I've learned a lot. Definitely it would be a good idea to buy a set of Jeff's plans for a newbie but don't stop there because boat building is both simple and complicated at the same time.
Thanks again Jeff . I live in Alaska and have 2 inflatables. I fish whiskey gulch on Cook inlet close to Holmer . I want to build one of your boats but having a hard time deciding which one 🤣
Where can I get the plans for this boat?
I can’t access to the web page? ☝🏽🤷🏻♂️
