🎾 Luca from Racquets and Runners just posted his test on this v8 98 and measured this at a low RA 58. Similarly, you guys, Luca and Tennisnerd loved it and thought it was a worthwhile upgrade.
I really appreciate their business strategy: 1. One is a passionate fan of Babolat rackets, 2. Another swears loyalty to Head rackets, 3. While the third is completely devoted to Yonex rackets. Could there be a racket that unites them all? Perhaps one that combines Babolat’s power, Head’s control, and Yonex’s finesse-a masterpiece designed to appeal to every taste!
😆 Would love to find this racket - the closest we’ve come is a VCore 100. Do you have any suggestions? And you give us too much credit! No business strategy, just three jabronis who like different things 🤷🏽♂️
Looks like comfort is the new battle ground in rackets. Will be interesting to see what the RA is and how people find the comfort or plush factor as you describe it?!
Sweet spot and extra power could be achieved by lead tape and different strings... the only real change is the smooth plusher feel, so will have to test. Can see that the paint colour will be fairly divisive, but with the older frame you can get a plush frame using a multi or gut on the mains. So is it really worth the upgrade? PH Tennis will say yes because they want you to buy more racquets. Pretty sure you can get the benefits of the new mould with added lead and strings changes with the 7th edition, but if you want an all poly setup than yeah get the new frame if you can deal with that colour.
We actually don't care which rackets you buy if they're from us! In fact, it would be more helpful if you bought the old ones so we can clear the stock. 👍🏽
Any news yet on the RA? Still slightly worried about the comfort here as someone who suffers with elbow issues from time to time. Love the current version but do find it a little too powerful from time to time and on those days the Percept 100 comes out of the bag when I need more control. When the elbow is playing up I use a Clash 98 V2 which is super comfortable!!
You mentioned it's easy for the arm, even for shoulder or tennis problem. I'm thinking of switching from a Blade v9 100 to get more power. But I'm concerned about the comfort level, having some shoulder issues (from an accident). I prefer muted feel anyway as I tend to replace the grip with a Wilson Comfort. Don't like the stiff ping and vibration. Should I consider this 98 or 100? I'm a flat hitter with OHBH currently using NXT Power 18. In my younger days, I played college tennis with a 95, gut with lots of control. But now, I need help to not get pushed around and overpowered by the other new racquets and younger players. Don't like the cosmetic of this new one compared to the older Midnight. But at this age, I'm more for functionality.
It may be easier on the arm - too early to tell that so don't take our word for it. Sounds like you'll definitely enjoy the new feel. The 100 is very powerful, so comes with a warning and the 98 plays very similarly to the last model. Best to get on court and try them out!
Guys, I’m in love with ezone 98 acqua night, learher grip and lead tape at 9.15-buy I’m starting to suffer elbow pain…do you think new ezone will solve this?
@@MrGiulianoma alupower is real stiff after a week. PTP supposed to be a bit softer. Use a soft leather grip & try softer string like Hyper G soft or Cyclone tour at sub 50 tension
What I want to know is, why do all Yonex rackets feel like a noodle or so jarring on miss hits??? Whereas in comparison Wilson or other rackets feel way more stable on contact… I’ve owned 9 Yonex rackets and no matter what tension I use, it’s utterly pointless..
They feel great, because I never, well 98% of the time I hit the sweet spot. Never choose a racket based on how it feels when you don't hit the sweetspot , who does that?
@@yonexfan12 dude… everyone misses and when you do with these rackets the feeling is so jarring and the shot dies off so hard. The only racket i would recommend out of the Yonex rackets is the REGNA… that stick is magic.
We won't be able to do the RA until we get them back and can put them all on our machine. Will let you know then. We suspect these new ones could be kinder on the arm, but can't say for certain yet
As a proud owner of a Ezone 98 Aqua Night, and vegan sorry a wannabe vegan or a chegan I will not change to new one, why ? I don't need more power only more control and I don't find a need or a reason to have worms on a racquet!!!!

Josh looks genuinely pissed off on both ezone v8 videos 😂
All the best guys, like the honesty!
Appreciate it, thanks.
Josh didn't play as well as he'd like (I'm being kind) during the testing which might explain his mood 😆

I would like an "Office" style pseudo-documentary-comedy starring you two set in a tennis shop please, BBC make it happen
Hahahaha! I think it may be less entertaining than you imagine
Old one looks so much better. New one looks like a kid's racquet with that pastel blue.
Going to order this in January from you

I bought a head mp 2024 recently just because of your nice review about it, now give me a Christmas gift a new ezone racket😂😂
Curious to see if the increase in weight and different balance point actually make the new V8 Ezone 98 PLUS the perfect racquet? 🤔
The + frames weren’t available to test…. They aren’t out till Feb!
But you might be onto something…
Is there a midnight black option?
Can’t wait to try it!
When Will we see the new radical’s review?
Not for a little while! Probably Feb some time…
Love your reviews and analysis, do you have a rough price for the EZone v8 98
It’s going to retail at around £245
Looks like comfort is the new battle ground in rackets. Will be interesting to see what the RA is and how people find the comfort or plush factor as you describe it?!
It certainly seems that way. Another big name racket has gone the same way... Keep your eyes peeled on 01/01/25

Thank you for the review.
The 98 was plush
Yeh same. The Ezone just hurts my arm. So weird.

If the power increases by 4 to 48% with each update, has the control not become or will it become 0%?
Really looks good, but really…. Sweetspot increased by 1%? What is the point of even mentioning it. No matter, will be trying it out.
98 square inch is only 2% smaller then 100 but most people can feel the difference
How does it compares to the pure strike 98? (If it is not too much comparing orange and apples) I miss power on the strike and get tired fast…
We'll do a comparison video for you soon! A little oranges to apples. More power and better feel in the Ezone. More control in the Strike
new yonex ezone 98 vs new head gravity tour 98: who tried both of them? Which one is better?
It’s definitely player dependent. The Gravity is a predominantly a control frame whereas the Ezone is Power.!

Genuine difference of opinion! Josh
Agree

No ezone 18x20? Thought they were going to release it as Shapo is playing with it
Does Shapo still play tennis?
Interested to try the new technology but definitely not a fan of the bright blue look.
The 2022 Ezone may be my last. I don’t need any more power from a racket and the Ezone is already on the limit for me.
How about the VDM? Is it still part of the racquet?
In my memory that was the only downside.
Yes VDM is still there.

Yonex should rebuild the DR.
Seriously.
