I recommend using a closed fence gate instead of a halfslab to prevent baby Zombies getting out! You can still reach them, and the XP can go through it immediately, and you won't have to remove and put back your halfslab. I haven't had any problems with AFKing in front of the modified version either, so I thought it could be good to share that here :D

If your mobs are still stucking, concider replacing signs with opened gateways and making elevator and enterance to it wider. Also 3 blocks wide killing spot becomes in handy. Then you have to use 3 hoppers instead of 1 I did this farm few times on singleplayer and on servers. One server got that plugin you ca move spawners with silk touch and now this xp farm forks with 7 spawners next to each other and wider killig spot. Really easy and efficient. Great for early game when you cannot use enderman xp farm

For less congestion at the entrance of the bubble elevator, place some turtle eggs or a villager behind the water. Zombies will head for them and get caught up in the bubbles. Make sure the villager/eggs are visible but unable to be reached. An open fence gate on the bottom and a top slab above it will do the trick.
I ran into the ‘not letting me put kelp on soulsand BUT I realized each water block had to be a water source so I took 22 water buckets and just manually made the water elevator work! It now works perfectly and that was so fun building that in survival!!! Thanks so much!
This is a great tutorial but I’m getting some issues with zombies getting clogged up and not reaching the elevator. I put a packed ice block on the space between where the water flow ends and the elevator begins, and I also made the height 3 blocks instead of four where the signs are right before the elevator and it seemed to work better. I still get the odd zombie sitting on the ice block but he gets shoved in once more spawn. I also end up with baby zombies stacking up and clogging the thing, which was fixed by making the aforementioned height of signs only two blocks high, but three seems to be the sweet spot splitting the difference even if the zomblets are a problem. I can’t tell how much the ice helps. What I *want* to do is move back the water sources at the end of the spawned room, and adjust the room length so that I don’t have to have that gap block and I’ll let the current flow directly into the elevator, but I don’t know if that will break the water system having the currents connect. Thoughts?
This is optional but I play pocket edition and anytime I see zombies getting clogged up I got up to my trapdoors I open them and I make it so that the zombies see me they'll go to me and once I walk away they'll go to the elevator. Just built this on bedrock. Can confirm it stills works on 1.19. You will want a block of ice under the sign before the elevator. And it isn’t a fast mob farm, but does the trick!
Use a villager and put him 2 blocks behind the water elevator and use a trap door and open it. (If you want, have a brewing stand and put in in front of the villager to make him a cleric and you can trade rotten flesh for emeralds)
Yo thanks for this tutorial! Never made one of these types of farms and usually what i build doesnt seem to work. This one worked perfectly. I added a two-way bubble elevator for a way to get up and down the Mob Spawner Farm. This is 1.17 friendly!
Isaac Putnam03 I figured it out, if I remember correctly use sand to place kelp and once you place all the kelp break it by hitting the kelp at the bottom then break sand and put soulsand, sounds weird but it works
I followed this completely and it works fine in 1.19. This is also the very first mob farm I've ever built. I've gotten the gist from watching SMPs, but they don't always go into detail in their videos since the spawners are a means to an end and not part of their builds. This was super useful! I give 5 stars on Yelp!
I like this but a problem is the get jam at the entrance of the bubble elevator so I have to go in and puch them in the still go in with out my help but very very slow. But it is still a good grinder
One time, I was building a bridge across a lava pool in the nether when a ghast blew me up, sending me falling into the lava. I had fire protection for on my boots. Thinking on my toes, I pulled out my stack of dirt blocks, and when I plunged deep into the lava, I was able to place dirt blocks on the floor beneath the lava. I quickly built the dirt Stacks up to the surface of the lava and build a little Island and survived. This became a strategy I will keep in mind every time I explore the nether. EDIT this only works if you are FAR above the lava, for your fall-speed to plunge you deep enough into the lava to reach the lava floor. You might be better off building a bridge right at the surface of the lava to avoid this situation altogether.
Great video, I have only one problem. My skeletons are stuck in like the 4 signs field and maybe give me 1 or 2 skeletons sometimes. How do I change that? I made the xp farm so that I can Farm some bonemeal. But with 1 or 2 zombies every 5 minutes it is just too little
For the people that don't want to cheat or are in hardcore, just make the dropper room like 3 blocks wide with the same thing, giving the zombies 3 more blocks to move around, making it actually harder for entity cramming.
@@lesliechan7747 I couldn't either. I found this worked: (1) place dirt where you're meant to place the soul sand (2) build the column of kelp (3) destroy all of the kelp (4) replace the block of dirt with a block of soul sand Hope this helps :)
just built this, works like a charm. For you fellow bedrock users, if you're getting the "I can't place kelp down on soul sand issue", just remove the soul sand, so the water is one block deeper, place the kelp all the way up, then break the kelp, and then place the soul sand back. Elevator should work like a charm
I made this design exactly as shown in the video. I found that sometimes the zombies get stuck when a baby zombie spawns riding a chicken. The chicken gets pushed to the the one block just before the water elevator and gets stuck there. The zombies won’t push the chicken up the elevator. Only way to clear it is to go into the room and push the zombies up manually. Another solution for the zombies getting stuck is to put turtle eggs or a villager behind the bubble elevator. That will help draw the zombies towards it quicker. Not sure if it will fix the chicken jockey issue though.
Break down 2 blocks at the point inbetween the sign and soul sand, place a soul sand, and then a cobblestone fence, then water log the fence (place water inside the fence) and then break one block down underneath the signs. And problem solved.
Same here. They get stuck on the one block where the sign stops the water. They finally drop through but it takes forever. Unless I manually go in and punch them through
With the guidance of this video, I just made my first zombie XP grinder 😁 it works beautifully. Thank you so much!! I'm so excited. I'm going to enchant everything, lol. 🥰🥰
There is a mob spawn limit, so if you make sure all the caves, mine shafts, etc are lit up around you the more mobs will spawn from the spawner. As long as you are standing 16 blocks within the spawner and have your world decently lit this should be rolling out the mobs.
You have to pull the zombies farther away from the spawner. I think it is 8 blocks away. Then the spawner will start spawning zombies again. I pull them however far the water will flow into collection chute, plus 7 more blocks away, then I place the soul sand lift to lift them 24-25 blocks away from the spawner. What I cannot figure out is how to eliminate the 1 "dry" block right before the soul sand lift.
I know this is really late, but there is a easy way for me to do the soul sand elevator, if you cant get kelp i mean. You know the infinite water source you make? Just use that on every block up and they'll all be source waters, making the elevator work with no kelp. Just in case someone else is too lazy to find kelp like me lmao.
Nice farm! In my most recent video I have an updated version of the one I made near my base. What do you think? And do you know if it’s easy to turn into a water zombie farm?
Why is it that only 5-8 zombies can only be in the “killing area” at once, the zombies are all there and none spawn in but as soon as I kill them in the are more zombies spawn, I want to afk for hours but I seem to not be able to
If u can’t put kelp on your soul sand do the following

Use a villager and put him 2 blocks behind the water elevator and use a trap door and open it. (If you want, have a brewing stand and put in in front of the villager to make him a cleric and you can trade rotten flesh for emeralds)
Does this work for all platforms?
Alexander Busscher I’m pretty sure every platform, zombies go after villagers
Axel Cervantes o crap I didn’t mean to respond to your comment sry, I meant to ask if the farm works
that fox at the end..i thought it was real for a second xDD
even tho this vid is a couple months old, it still helped alot in my hardcore world and i can repair my stuff so much easier thanks to this.
thanks this is so cool and it's very cheap I would recommend to friends totally epic :-)
Thanks buddy, glad you liked it!
lol why does this sound sarcastic
Yo thanks for this tutorial! Never made one of these types of farms and usually what i build doesnt seem to work. This one worked perfectly. I added a two-way bubble elevator for a way to get up and down the Mob Spawner Farm. This is 1.17 friendly!
Sorry if this is a late reply but mine is extremely slow, any reason why?
@@dannywilkes6601 Make sure all the caves near it are lighten up, and you turned the entity cramming up
@@zankthegreat4291 how do i do that for bedrock?😅
Very well done tutorial. Detailed. Not too fast. Just like i wanted. Nice voice too. Bro fist!
This was a great straight forward tutorial but where I put the signs (before the elevator) the skeletons would like cram there
same my zombies Would cram Too And then They would fall to where i Kill them slowly TwT
Yea I can’t find a way to fix it
Wait i cant put my kelp on soulsand. Everyone got same problem or just me?
i cant either. did you find a solution?
@@Hastee yea i got it. Just put stone underneath and a kelp then put soulsand above kelp. Its work
Can you go into more detail about that?
Isaac Putnam03 I figured it out, if I remember correctly use sand to place kelp and once you place all the kelp break it by hitting the kelp at the bottom then break sand and put soulsand, sounds weird but it works
Hehe lol imagine not being a gamer
I followed this completely and it works fine in 1.19.
This is also the very first mob farm I've ever built. I've gotten the gist from watching SMPs, but they don't always go into detail in their videos since the spawners are a means to an end and not part of their builds. This was super useful! I give 5 stars on Yelp!
my zombies get stuck right before the elvator what do i do????
7:47 "aw this *SaNd* is pretty annoying"
I'm glad that it works in the current update (1.19) and thank you for updating the title
It works on console but it seems like after about 5 zombies are in the kill chamber, no more spawn
Im having the same issue.
Same
yh mee too
Yup, they fer stuck at the top
@@gamer_kid_naz4942 no , they just stop spawning After like 2 waves or something like that

Thank you for explaining that new water elevator, I haven’t played in years and recently got re-addicted and could not figure out that elevator
While going to find the items needed for this I stumbled across the third monster spawner I’ve found in this world that I started yesterday.
Damn I’m console and I don’t have those game rules as in console I wish if there was called maxEntityCramming

my zombies are not spawnning when I am not there and when I go near the spawnner then they start spawnning please help
@@iimachahiye they are despawning because you have to be in a certain block range
My little mob elevator went straight up to top-level
when I'm farming skeletons I always bring a few of my dogs so they can kill the skeletons as they come and I still get exp
None of mine go in can u help me plz?
I like this but a problem is the get jam at the entrance of the bubble elevator so I have to go in and puch them in the still go in with out my help but very very slow. But it is still a good grinder
That's a great design. I love the blackstone detail too. Thanks
You might be better off building a bridge right at the surface of the lava to avoid this situation altogether.
what does it have to do with the vid
@@sepehrhoseini9889 it involves minecraft
Great video, I have only one problem. My skeletons are stuck in like the 4 signs field and maybe give me 1 or 2 skeletons sometimes. How do I change that? I made the xp farm so that I can Farm some bonemeal. But with 1 or 2 zombies every 5 minutes it is just too little
I trapped a villager next to the current, so the zombies automatically walk into the water, not sure if that helped or not
Meme Lord that’s smart, but I’m having the problem with skeletons
Mr. Ko0kyKe3g4n I am having the same problem and I need help
Not sure then, sorry
Jaiden Erickson I haven’t tried it yet, but somebody said putting a ice block in the spot with no water works
For the people that don't want to cheat or are in hardcore, just make the dropper room like 3 blocks wide with the same thing, giving the zombies 3 more blocks to move around, making it actually harder for entity cramming.
he might not know gravel from sand but he knows how to decorate/build
For everybody, who's looking after a comment like this:
This farm still works and btw. REALLY good
thanks man!
Everything from A to Z for a Zombie / Skeleton Mob XP Farm
Time to get dat phat XP ya'll!!!
Me who found mine at the surface
AYOO
this is the only farm that has ever worked for me on bedrock god bless you
This works on the new 1.17 update. I just built it and works perfectly fine
I can't get the kelp to stay on the soul sand
@@lesliechan7747 I couldn't either. I found this worked:
(1) place dirt where you're meant to place the soul sand
(2) build the column of kelp
(3) destroy all of the kelp
(4) replace the block of dirt with a block of soul sand
Hope this helps :)
@@jp9707 My zombies just don't make it to the elevator.. like the signs are stopping them lol
thank you so much! this is an awesome farm!
Thanks! Enjoy the XP overload :D
I never comment on RUclips but know that this farm is amazing, still works today.
I made this and some the mobs don't move past the fence part but when they occasionally do it works fine
This is amazing, thanks so much!
just built this, works like a charm. For you fellow bedrock users, if you're getting the "I can't place kelp down on soul sand issue", just remove the soul sand, so the water is one block deeper, place the kelp all the way up, then break the kelp, and then place the soul sand back. Elevator should work like a charm
0:55 ey waddup foo?
Aw shit yur in creative nvm.
Haha!! I thought the same

Hey dude! Thanks for your comment! Did not yet encounter this myself but thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much! I loved what you did with your survival world
My mending tools thank you.
Where the signs are placed, the zombies get stuck there, is there any solution to fix this?
Same here
Instead of placing signs you could fill it in with blocks so the zombies could not get stuck and flow into the water elevator
put ice where the gap is on the ground, they should slide right into the elevator and if not the other mobs will push them in
Abdul_1877 where di we place the block?
Break down 2 blocks at the point inbetween the sign and soul sand, place a soul sand, and then a cobblestone fence, then water log the fence (place water inside the fence) and then break one block down underneath the signs. And problem solved.
That slab idea you show off near the end is great. You can also still hit zombies through it, so I've actually just kept it there permanently.
My zombies get stuck at the water elavater does this work on mcpe
Same here. They get stuck on the one block where the sign stops the water. They finally drop through but it takes forever. Unless I manually go in and punch them through
Look at skyfiler he shows you how to make then go to elevator
Put a villager behind the water block the zombie will want to go to it and go up the water
@@Wodjtvs thanks
for some reason it’s not letting me put the kelp down
Will achievements still be on if I change my game rule to allow more zombies to cram up together ?
With the guidance of this video, I just made my first zombie XP grinder 😁 it works beautifully. Thank you so much!! I'm so excited. I'm going to enchant everything, lol. 🥰🥰
Thank you very much! Glad it works!
Doesn’t entity cramming mess with the xp collection?
Not at all! It only makes sure that more mobs can spawn before they start suffocating each other
@@04AMofficial does changing the gamerule cheating
The skeletons wont go up for me Thea just stay at the spawner room, my elevator is fully working but they won’t go up pls help
I am afraid either your water is misplaced or your gap to let them go up is not big enough. Did you build exactly the same?
04AM I’m pretty sure I did build the same
OMG THANK YOU! THIS TOOK OUT ALL THE WORK OF THE FARM!
Why do my zombies stop spawning once it spawned like 5 already
I’m having the same problem
did you light the caves around you because if you dont all the mobs from the caves are gonna fill up the mob cap
How do you get that many? I can only get 6 or 7, sometimes more, It' doesn't feel that fast doing it like this...
Same the max is 8 and then it’s seems like they just stop spawning
There is a mob spawn limit, so if you make sure all the caves, mine shafts, etc are lit up around you the more mobs will spawn from the spawner. As long as you are standing 16 blocks within the spawner and have your world decently lit this should be rolling out the mobs.
You have to pull the zombies farther away from the spawner. I think it is 8 blocks away. Then the spawner will start spawning zombies again. I pull them however far the water will flow into collection chute, plus 7 more blocks away, then I place the soul sand lift to lift them 24-25 blocks away from the spawner. What I cannot figure out is how to eliminate the 1 "dry" block right before the soul sand lift.
they spawn slow as shit for me
I know this is really late, but there is a easy way for me to do the soul sand elevator, if you cant get kelp i mean. You know the infinite water source you make? Just use that on every block up and they'll all be source waters, making the elevator work with no kelp. Just in case someone else is too lazy to find kelp like me lmao.
Do you know why the zombies are running away from the water and getting clogged
They might see you, I recommend to close down the wall and then they will go in.
I recommend standing on the Chest, They still sometimes clog but works better
Nice farm! In my most recent video I have an updated version of the one I made near my base. What do you think? And do you know if it’s easy to turn into a water zombie farm?
Thanks! I am not sure how you can make a Drowned farm out of this one. If I find something, I'll experiment and maybe make a new farm vid!
Thanks big man, this is a great, straight to the point, and effective guide.
Why is it that only 5-8 zombies can only be in the “killing area” at once, the zombies are all there and none spawn in but as soon as I kill them in the are more zombies spawn, I want to afk for hours but I seem to not be able to
That’s why there’s a mob cap
Marley Nugent what’s that?
@@adamr3831 a mob cap is how many zombies can be in an area at a time
