@@JimNewstead In general, if it says Sam, it's Sam Tompkins whereas Samuel generally refers to Samuel Perry-Falvey; or at least that's how I normally see them listed. I hope that helps you to distinguish between them. I just started listening to Ren this year and the album release has been a wild ride. I hope you decide to check out more of the new tracks!
Caught one of your vids reacting to ‘Suppers Ready’ I’m sure. This one has got my subscription simply because there’s obviously a breadth of appreciation there that cuts across ‘perceptions of genre’.
Great reaction, just a slight correction…. Sam Perry-Falvey is his videographer who did this, Sam Tompkins is his old viral busking partner and recording collaborator. Easily done because he surrounds himself with a bunch of creative mates that contribute it would appear 👍

Yes, that's Ren playing piano at the beginning! He also composed the music for piano and strings! He directed the video and produced the music/audio. It was recorded live but it's not quite one take. They had to make a single edit, before the water, as the 'rain machine' was being tempermental. So it's effectively 2 single-takes. :) Yet another incredible and masterful performance from Ren and overall, an absolute masterpiece... again! :)

Hi Jimmy!😊 Ren: I grew up watching films like Scarface, Godfather, and shows like Breaking Bad. I love stories of character development from innocence to pure corruption and wanted to try and capture that in song, because I hadn’t really heard it done. It’s the story of the life of a character called Jimmy, who slowly sinks more and more into corruption and moral depravity. I also liked the juxtaposition of putting rap over a classical piano and string arrangement, two things that shouldn’t necessarily work together, that combine to create something pretty unique. PS: Ren loves reactors and allows them to monetize his videos. Any problems, contact his team and your channel will be whitelisted. Please do more Ren!🤘

I'm saddened by the cutting off of your train of thought,bc this may not be the place for it. I would argue that this is exactly the place for it. 1. It's the artist that you're reacting to that brought forth this topic. I have to believe that he would've hoped conversations of this topic is what would come from his art.

A masterpiece. As a bonus, it will piss off all the right people.
Rap opera. Magnificent movie. Showing, that the emptiness, left by collapsing community, leads to addiction. And money is one of these addictions. You see Jimmy abusing drugs, alcohol also. A road to self destruction. The gun is a symbol for that. Like mentioned in "SickBoi" "...science calls it suicide and still we commit..." And pulls the trigger of a money game.

I’m just now getting to two week old vids in my feed, but I had to comment on your “Rap opera…now there’s a thing.”
You have really got to see “Hamilton.” I understand the history may fly past you; but Lin Manuel Miranda made history with writing a Broadway musical rap opera with “Hamilton.” It’s god smackingly fantastic.
I could be wrong, but I think he backed away from being ‘sanctified’ by some who watched Hi-Ren / thats why he did some harder lyric tracks - shocking….. 😎👍😂
He never actively "backed away" from anything. He just does what feels right in the moment without thinking about how people receive it. Always.
He has released very little written after Hi Ren. This, the seven sins, and the back end of suicide are the only ones I know are written after it.
If you are going to quote the Bible, get it right. Its the "LOVE" of money is the root of all evil.

He's basically stealing from "This is America" from Childless Gambino as far as the video style.
