I still use mine every day! It's awesome!
This thing gets quite warm when transferring lots of files. I use it as a backup of the phone or when transfering from an old device to a new one. There is also a metal one for a few dollars more.
Yeah, it gets warm, but not enough to worry about it.
You didn't explain anything about how to make it work. When I plugged it into my Samsung cell phone nothing happened. That is the reason I came to youtube to try and figure it out. The samsung site I was on was worthless also. It didn't say a thing about how to make it actually work. Thanks anyhow
I didn't realize when I made this video that I'm using the FileManager+ app. It will automatically open when I plug in a drive. The standard "My Files" app will show it under the Storage section labeled "USB Storage 1" however it won't automatically open the app when you plug the drive into your phone.

I did just find a Filemanager on the Samsung phone it does show 2 files to install but when I click on them it shows (search the Play store? you don't have any apps that can open this type of file. But it won't mention what app I may need to open these 2 files). @@GrantButler

I have a Samsung Galaxy 23 ultra. I have a Sandisk Ultra Dual Drive Go USB Type-C 128 GB. When I plug it into my smartphone NOTHING happens!!! No menu, no prompts NOTHING pops up!
Do I need to download something first? There are NO INSTRUCTIONS on this thing, it just tells me to go to the website, but when I type it in a bunch of jibberish comes up. Please help! Thanks
Go to your files app and it should be there. I get a pop-up because I use the File Manager+ app

Still, please get to the subject, which is, in my mind "how to use it" Believe it or not, all these superfluous details you give us (thanks again!) are not nearly as riveting to us as you think, any more than if I gave you a bunch of superfluous details about me. Let me show you by example. I am trying to get my pictures off my Galaxy 22 Ultra to my new phone, and have been trying for days to get this done. I have spent hours (really) deleting photos to get rid of things I don't need in the new phone. I do have several phones, that I no longer use. In fact, I will take my Galaxy 22 Ultra back to Costco today and trade it in, they are giving me 800 dollars for it at T Mobile. Otherwise, I could not afford it. It's really cold here today and I need to warm up the car. I do have problems with my thyroid, which makes me insufferably (to me and everyone else) impatient. Im getting medical help for that but it takes months to get to see a specialist. Thanks Grant

Mine only pops up because I use tur "FileManager+" app. But it should show up in your files app
I'm still confused. I bought this Sandusky USB. I just want to copy pictures from my samsung phone and put them on my computer 🤷♀️ without losing cant figure or accidently deleting them.

Bought one yesterday. Concerned about how hot it gets when used.
It's hot because of the compact size. Any other flashdrive gets hot too, but they typically have a lot more bulk and plastic to insulate it so you can't feel it. Nothing to worry about.
@@GrantButler I heard it may be beneficial to have a metal flash drive because metal dissipates heat away quicker from the inner components.

Please some one help me! I'm trying to use a new 128gb usbc to take files off my phone. And when I bought it new and plugged it into my android it isn't working. Do I need to download some app to use it or is there something else I'm missing? Please I'm desperate lol
Try plugging it into a computer first. If it shows up there then try using the "File Manager Plus" app. play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alphainventor.filemanager

you can use the stock files app on your phone. I get a pop-up because I use the "File Manager±" app
Nice video! Is it possible to use it with EXFAT or NTFS ? And is it possible to watch 4K videos or mkv videos from this flash drive for example on my LG C2 TV ?
Yes it can use exfat or ntfs. I do not know if your TV can read exfat or NTFS

Hello. I love the way You explain the use of this little gadget. However, i just purchased one and i have used it for 3 days( Google is full) . I have transferred several amounts of photos and video,but I'm not done. Today( 4th day of use) i get a pop up message asking that i restart my phone because a devise was disconnected unexpectedly and i take a risk of loosing unsaved data... I did not disconnect it.. i unmounted it as indicated... But i continue to get the message.. i went to configuration and it says it's used to charge the phone!!😠. It does not allow me to change the configuration... Any suggestions ( besides getting a new one??)

No you don't need to format it, and you can transfer pictures to it. Some phones can take pictures directly to it.
Why do you keep the old drive in the slider case? If you took it out, it would be smaller and easier to use.
At the time it was because I used a lanyard to make it easy to find in my pocket. Without the case it was kinda useless to me

No, this will not work with the iPhone 13 you'll have to get one with the lightning adapter. However this should work with the iPhone 15 that has the usb-c port

@@GrantButlerI saw something about the Pro allowing 60 frames a second 4K having to have a drive - card reader plugged in to allow the recording to start and then other lesser frame speeds in 4k would be okay on the phones directly. Got me thinking how useful that could be if it does work with filming.
Hi Grant. Does it transfer files from your computer to your phone, or is it just to transfer files from your phone to your computer?
It can do either one. You transfer files to it (the flash drive), then you can use it to transfer files to anything else that it can plug into

No, you'd have to transfer it from your phone after recording it

Copy the videos from wherever you have it saved(phone or Computer) and paste it onto the drive
It have plastic or metal housing? If it is fully plastic i think plastic quality would be nice because it's sandisk
Btw luxe version is fully metal
It's metal. The part that swivels is plastic

@Chrisj53 mine is super reliable. I use it & abuse it in my pocket with headphones & keys all day everyday. However I don't know if it will work with a Huawei. It should, but because that phone brand is Banned in the USA, I have no way of knowing.
How stable is the swifel mechanism? I got a SanDisk Ultra Dual Luxe (almost same built) it the swifel mechnism got so wobbly that I lost the drive :(. The SanDisk Ultra Dual Go looks very similar to the Luxe model.
I carry it in my pocket and use it every day for work, no issues yet.
@@GrantButler I bought the dual go now. The swivel mechanism is much better with this one. The dual luxe has a swivel with only two small nubs, the dual go has a swivel with a hinge.

Yes & yes, the drive is metal, but the attached cover is plast. I wouldn't worry about static shocks
So i got one of these today and on the box it says to download their app sandisk memory zone, is it a safe app? Bc it seems pretty old and i don't find much info so idk if i have to download that to use it or not? Thanks for the help!
I don't know of any value the app will provide. I'm sure it's safe, but I'm not sure what you can use it for?

Newbie here. How do I know when files are being transferred? I have a Samsung Galaxy. I plug it into my phone and nothing pops up. After a few minutes , I pulled it out and my phone says I need to restart my phone as this device was removed improperly. When I plug it into my computer - I dont know if anything dowmloaded. This may seem very elementary but I am at a loss. Thank you for any assistance.

You may need to check your TV's specifications. It may only be able to read specific file formats, or it may be the formatting of the drive itself

Hi. Please help me. I have one of these drives and want to transfer music from my SanDisk to my Mp3 player without a computer and not recognizing it in my Mp3 players. Can I get some kind of Dongle. Went to Best Buy but were no help. Thanks in advance
No, most MP3 platers don't have software to access external devices. You need a computer

You were recommended this video because the algorithm prefers longer videos. However, you can filter your search results to only show "Shorts" if that's what you're looking for?
@@GrantButler I don't think so. Algorithms prefers videos with longer viewer retaining. 8 minutes to long to keep attention.

Still one of the worst naming schemes ever created. Wish they just forgot all the gen nonsense and did 3.0, 3.1, and 3.2 to signify the speeds.
you havent say how to connect to the phone and download the files...you just brag about your old drive!!
That's because almost all phones are a little bit different on how you do that. But you're essentially copying and pasting whatever you want to move to or from a flash drive.
