I am in the process of creating a template for Indesign, to test the "new" features I am collecting information at the moment. Even if you can put more there, I just don't see any advantage over a template with normal character and paragraph styles. Maybe it helps if I create many different documents, but if I want consistent documents, I see more pitfalls there.

Everyone does things their own way, I find templates to be useful to refer to over and over so I can be sure I have graphic consistency.

Help: Can you change the Page size in CC Libraries? My Items do not fit the page and i cant grab or see them, they are way off the pasteboard?
You can, but it's best described on the adobe forums for exact process!
