Very crazy how much different both balers look side by side, looks like you will have some nice feed from the valley for your cows, thanks for the update
That hay looks great.. mind to try and mix the great bales with the not so great bales while feeding... it good to have a balanced diet 😂.. 👌 stay safe 🏴
Hey Travis! One question about your cattle. Why do you wean of your calves so early? Round where I'm from the normal practice is calving in january-february-march and weaning in September-October when we are bringing them in from pasture. Just curius to hear the reasoning behind different practices around the world. Great video as always, and hope you get finnished with hay soon! Where I'm from our regrowth stops in late August due to low temperatures as the grass begins to get ready for winter.
It's a product of the year that I had. I ran out of good quality alfalfa early on and the cows milk production dropped off as a result. When I started feeding quality feed again they didn't come back into milk as much as preferred. I had the calves on creep since June and decided with how they were looking I wanted to pull the calves and let the cows regain some condition before winter. I'd rather pull the calves October 1 which with my current feed situation should be easier to do next year.
@@TheRestOfTheStory Thanks for the answer! The ability to be able to adapt is one of the things you farmers always seem good at. Good to hear that the feed situation is looking up for you guys

Gee, never thought of the kicker plate on the round bailer on hills….don’t mix 😬.
Good stuff
Hopefully there is more hay than you think. The cattle are going to eat that like candy. Thanks for the update video
Ny and NJ. No one wants second cut for horses. They want 1st. Have a good one travis
Interesting that the one baler won't handle the fines and the other will.
About how many bales do you wrap with a full roll of net wrap?
150
We call those bales the transportation taper…
