I slide up from the 9th on the A string and slide down from the 12th on the E string and land on 2. Hey! You dont slide from One to the other. 9 and 12 are just some reference points. Just slide up from on the A string and then down on the E. Dont get too caught up on Numbers , search for the sound that you ear and try to replicate.

I have the tone and the bridge pickup on 0 and the neck pickup all the way up, that gives a really low tone on this PJ bass. The other part is maybe in the fingers, tone has a lot to do with your technique.
You ABSO-friggin-LUTELY **NAILED**!! “Do You Really Like Me” (!), but this one sounds a wee little bit off. The slides don’t sound “right” to me (do covers really need to sound 100% exactly like the recording?). I dunno, there’s something about the slide that doesn’t match up with the original, ie the attack, the speed, I can’t say otherwise *I’d* be the one making YT videos - and RAKING IN THAT RUclips CASH, B-BEEEE!!! But (alas) NO, here I sit, thumb somewhere it shouldn’t be, bass guitar sounding like somebody gave it to a chimp, and typing up comments in which I demonstrate the UNMITIGATED GALL to critique the playing of someone as OBVIOUSLY TALENTED as yourself. Some people’s kids, eh?
Sorry if I'm late, but the best thing to do is to always start slow. Use a metronome, play it as slow as you don't make any mistakes and once you can play at a certain tempo for like 5 times without any mistake increase the tempo! Good luck

What do you mean with muted open string? A ghost note or muted note its always the same , you have your fingers slightly touching the string without fretting to give the mufffled sound :)
