    Wow, thanks for sharing this. My husband and I stayed at the Gluntx Resort a couple of years ago and it was so beautiful. So sad to see so much damage in Key Colony Beach. I pray you all are able to bounce back and rebuild. Would love to visit again in the future. My heart goes out to you all. God Bless

    Great video Sir. The absolute magnitude of the water force cannot be understated. Your video and another showing the displacement of boulders at Bahia Honda State Park convey this element. I watched multiple news outlets reporting throughout the storm. The destructive force of the water was absent from the commentary/discussion. Moving forward, I hope you will raise awareness of this subject with government & media partners when readying for the next storm. Kudos for your efforts.

    Has Key Colony Beach EVER been there before? Wilma was not as bad, but Donna was really bad for KCB, albeit a lot less people and buildings.

    The Oceans have warmed up over the last few years. Your gonna rebuild... but... you might have to rebuild every year.... hope you guys can afford to do that. I think after a while.. people are going to get fed up and move to somewhere a lot more stable and predictable... maybe some lone soldiers might keep soldiering on trying to revive the past. Thing is... the world... and its landscapes are a changing thing.

    Too bad that, some decades ago, some wise people didn't look around and realize that the Florida Keys are so vulnerable to hurricanes that construction should be kept as minimal as possible. This is just going to keep happening.

      That comment is completely insensitive and unnecessary. It is also insulting to our Building Official and our City as a whole. The only reason this comment is not getting deleted and reported as spam is so that anyone who knows you will learn more about your ignorant side.

      i should not have to explain....be careful that you look at both sides and put yourself into their shoes before making false accusations if youre going to accuse someone trying to help of wrongdoing you better be right about that or else you are just making a bad situation worse for no reason

    In most cases, rebuilding will mean razing the original building before making a new one and that costs a lot of money. To add to that, hurricanes are going to get bigger every year with the warming oceans. Depending on who is paying for those recurring costs and who can afford, the entire region will become a bunch of ghost towns over the next decade.

    You are at least a year or more from getting back to normal. In that time of rebuild another cane could come in and wipe the new growth projects right back out.

    Don't build houses close to the beach.

  • @brushhog7089
    @brushhog7089 6 лет назад +1

    why should you live in luxury on sea level and when the winds come and the waves like we all know they're going to and it destroys your house we pay to have it rebuilt for you. and nobody comes to build to my house when the rain and the weather breach the walls and they collapse. therefore I say if you're stupid enough to live it sea level live with it

  • @kimschrder6238
    @kimschrder6238 6 лет назад

    Nuts, to build a house so near the sea.......And its gonna happen again...Both parts...

    Billions of Taxpayer dollars that will be spent in an area that shouldn't be allowed to be built upon in the first place. Real estate owners should pay a lot higher insurance premiums to offset their choices of where to live.

    I UNDERSTAND IT TAKES A WEALTHY MAN, WOMAN, PERSON TO OWN AND MAINTAIN BEACH FRONT PROPERTY THERE IN FLORIDA? I LIVE IN A 24 FT RV. IF I'M WRONG THEN I APOLOGIZE BUT I'M JUST GOING ON WHAT THE AVERAGE FAMILY DOESN'T HAVE AND HOW MUCH THEY HAVE TO RELY ON SUBSISTENCE.. YOU EVER READ GODS ETERNAL WORD, WHERE JESUS SAID THAT HE WOULD EXALT THOSE THAT ARE LOW AND BRING RUIN TO THOSE THAT EXALT THEMSELVES? WELL THERE YOU HAVE IT. READ 2 CHRONICLES 7:14 AND MAYBE YOU MIGHT JUST GET IT!
